Expensive bit of kit which it is…

Expensive bit of kit which it is impossible to get any assistance with. No technicians and Planika can only help if I have a non apple computer, which I don’t. They do not respond to pleas for assistance. I’d think very carefully before
you buy one of their ethanol fires. Appalling

Poor quality

I bought two fires.
The unit on one has failed twice. The first time they replaced under the warranty. The second time they didn’t.
I should say that I have used these tires no more than 15 times because I live in central London and I have central heating.
It’s just poor quality. For two control units to fair on a £3,500 fire when it’s been used minimally shows how poor quality it is
I will never buy or recommend planika again

Planika Artikon

We bought an Artikon. This is a fantastic stuff: very nice looking, solid and well built. It works very well and we are fully satisfied.

Planika Fire

Our Planika fire costing £9000 will not stay lit.
Planika have dialed in remotely to it and believe there might be a blockage somewhere.
However, they don't have an engineer in our area (Yorkshire). In fact I think they only have one engineer to cover the whole of the UK. Very poor service indeed.
I would advise anyone thinking of purchasing any of their products to think again.

6 months and still waiting for delivery!!!

6 months and still waiting! We were told it would be 1 week, then it's been excuse after excuse after excuse. We're now forced to lodge a complaint with NSW Fair Trading and lodge a claim with the Tribunal to recover our money. We built a custom cabinet to suit the exact measurements of the Planika fireplace and now we're going to have to replace that as well. I do not recommend you work with this company – it appears to us that they take your money and do not deliver.

Planika Chantico Glassfire

Planika Chantico Glassfire - WARNING do not think that this is a heater. It does look lovely but emits no heat.

Although my response from Planika customer service says they make it abundantly clear that it is not a heater the description lacks this information and it is not abundantly clear.

I did not appreciate that 2.5kw is equivalent to a hairdryer until I contacted Planika and this was contained in their response.

Overpriced joke

Paid top price for what's advertised as Chantico glass fire, with heat output of 2.5 kilowatt.

What a complete joke.

When used outdoors you have to put your hands right up to the glass, or over the top, to even feel any warmth at all.

I'd like this company to publish any verified, independant data to support this claim.

In my view, promoting this as a heater is verging on the dishonest.

Avoid

In short:

Looks great
Worked for 11 months
Tried to burn my house down and kill my family
Planika had very little interest
Took 12 months to sort out
Cost me an additional £1000+ in time and equipment for them to replace the fire.
Awful experience
Will never use again.
