I put my house up for sale with this company last summer 20024. The sales agent's and all staff I dealt with were perfectly pleasant and helpful and the brochure etc all OK . They gave feedback after each viewing.

However they did not attempt to go above and beyond on anything. Although they were aware I was also looking for a house in the local area they never drew my attention to suitable houses that THEY had for sale. I only found out if they had new houses with them as I have alerts on Zoopla etc. I also viewed houses with them and they never even rang me back later for feedback etc (warning sign there).

After 3 months of viewings but no offers they never suggested a conversation about lowering the price or any improvement's etc
I understand that I could have also pushed this further also and queried it - maybe I should have ! But what was I paying for ?

I got the impression this company are just coasting and doing what they have always done. They have been in the area a long time and rely on local people. still in dark ages really. They done nothing special for me and I terminated my contract as soon as I could. They need to revisit their sales model. would not use again

***note*** I have literally more or less cut and pasted the same info as I used for Clee Tompkinson estate agents in Port Talbot - they are both much of a muchness and both need a big shake up

I will use the words of PJC’s Managing Director to write my review. Responding to the litany of failings her employees were responsible for she commented ‘I cannot describe how shocked I feel at what has happened and I offer you my sincerest apologies’. Your email was a tough read and I feel terrible this experience has tainted your view of PJC as I work so very hard to retain our customer service level to a premium. I have requested a meeting with X and will address all of this with her. Her manner is NOT what is trained or expected of any employee and I take a dim view of anyone who blemishes our name. I am not going to address all of your points because I agree with you on all of them. I have no defence other than to say that I will make sure this does not happen to anyone else. In a later email I was told the service was so bad PJC had ‘one member of staff on a final warning’.

Sadly I had an offer accepted by the vendor and told the property would be taken off the market.

However instead of viewings being cancelled or other potential buyers being informed property was sold, I have subsequently been gazumped by another purchaser (unsure why the person would not be told that an offer had been accepted).

Poor practice in my opinion.

The service I received from Victoria at Payton Jewell Caines and previously by Holly, was excellent. People often only are urged to submit a review when they experience bad service so I thought I would buck that trend and say well done where it is righfully due. PJC in my case were faced with a difficult situation, through no doing of mine nor theirs and they dealt with it very fairly all things considered, and stepped up when it was needed. It is in such situations that you discover the quality of customer service and in their case, they passed with flying colours.
