WiFi and Bluetooth broke after 1 year

Exactly one year later, right after the warranty expired, my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth stopped working. I contacted support, and they quoted a repair price higher than what I originally paid for the phone. I do not recommend Pixel to anyone, go with Samsung instead.

HUGE Amount of Functions But Takes Up Storage and Power

It has a HUGE amount of functions and features so its good if you want them, but not so if they end up taking 12GB of space just as part of the phone. There is no SD slot so if you do not want your pictures to take up another 16GB of your Google Drive space, you would have to use a cable to store them in a external drive. Then the screen turns green- and its a known hardware issue. People are worried about scammers and data collection, and Google openly collects your locations, consumption use, your biometrics, your passwords unless you turn all those features off one by one. Then, there is the battery that claims to last 48 hours, yes, it can if again you turn on battery saver mode and stops all the apps they put in the phone before you even start using it. The phone functions are brilliant, but the images are somehow mini videos so they take more space again. My old OPPO was functioning a lot better and has less hassles.

Terrible phone

Avoid these phones!! Absolutely terrible for the price. Day one alarm goes of it gave me an option to say "stop' to stop the alarm. Didn't work so tried to unlock it with fingerprint! Didn't work! Tried multiple it times then it says use code which failed twice.

I then go to write a work email. The keyboard is terrible. Simply going back and forth to rewrite a simple message. Took 20 minutes to even write this using the phone. So even typing is hard to do.

Battery life again the phone is literally hanging on for dear life all the time! Pathetic. Takes a year to charge haha

Pictures are good that's about it.

iPhone 11 is better than this phone which I replaced with this 8a. Big mistake!!

If you want to wake up every morning stressed because you can't turn an alarm of or send simple messages then this is the phone for you.

Quick typing is none existent you will be spending more time correcting the phone then focusing the message.

Don't waste your money!!!

Dreadful DO NOT BUY

Our children thought it would be a good idea to change my phone ( I m 71) from a dearly loved iPhone, to this ghastly Google pixel, which they have.
I wasn't even asked ( beware when you get to 70 you're treated like a senile decrepit)
I loathe the blasted thing
It pops up adverts I don't want, ALL THE TIME, I can't use it to print anything so I have to email returns slips to my husband for him to print, just generally bloody irritating.
To make matters worse I was also given the Google tablet. That won't print either.
Do NOT buy one

If you're a Samsung user

If you're a Samsung user. DO NOT BUY THIS phone. It is a utter nuisance. Simple tasks in Samsung are a nightmare here.such as
You can't select ALL items/images
Text shortcuts do not work at all despite Google having it's own version.
It will not connect android auto wirelessly.
The screen mirror can ONLY be done to a Chromecast and not ANY TV.
The phone does not come with the needle tool to open the SIM card slot.
Oh and images don't go into folders, they just go into the date they were made so transferring via smart switch is pointless eg, you have family photos from different years/dates that were in a family folder on Samsung. When transferred to Google, the folder is empty and you have to find EACH INDIVIDUAL pic by it's date.

I'm stuck with for 2 years as I as I didn't have time to check the phone with in the 14 days return period.

SAMSUNG USERS STAY AWAY!

I am extremely disappointed with my…

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with both Google and Fido regarding my Pixel 8 device.

I purchased my Pixel 8 from Fido, trusting Google's reputation for quality. As a student balancing studies and work, investing in a premium phone was a major financial decision for me. Unfortunately, just over a year later, the phone completely stopped detecting SIM cards and lost its IMEI — rendering it non-functional.

Despite following all troubleshooting steps and visiting Mobile Klinik (who confirmed a motherboard failure), Google refused to offer any reasonable resolution. They only offered a loyalty discount toward another Pixel device — even though I clearly stated that I had lost trust in their products after this serious failure.

Meanwhile, I am still being asked to pay the remaining $400 for a phone that no longer works.
As a student with limited finances, this situation is extremely unfair and stressful. I expected much better support and accountability from a brand like Google.

Both Google and Fido have shown a disappointing lack of customer care. I trusted them with a major purchase, and they have left me without proper support when I needed it most. I strongly urge others — especially students and those on a budget — to be extremely cautious before buying a Pixel device or signing a long-term contract involving them.

I sincerely hope they reconsider their approach to customer service, because right now, they have lost a loyal customer.

Google Pixel 8 Pro Worst Phone ever

Google Pixel 8 Pro Worst Phone ever! Non stop pop up adverts block access to phone, emails, contacts, WhatsApp, pictures, bank account, in fact everything despite adverts turned off. Then a message says to get rid of adverts will cost £1.99 for the first month and then £10 pcm!
Got to really bang on keys that have a mind of their own.
Cannot have a hands free conversation and check on something without loosing the call
Returning this load of rubbish and getting a reliable phone instead

Very disappointed with this smartphone

Very disappointed with this smartphone. Upgraded from Huawei p30 pro to Pixel8 only to find out this is not an upgrade. Processor is much slower, resolution not as bright and camera not even close.Paying double monthly rate as before. Totally bad mistake.
