As soon as you start it, It comes full of adverts, and I'm talking about the paid version. What a load of rubbish this software is. Do not buy. There are better free videoing software out there.

If there was a zero I'd use it

If there was a zero I'd use it. I bought 21 Ultimate and now that they've come out with 24, Pinnacle 21 ULTIMATE is not only not "ultimate," it crashes constantly. Talked to Pinnacle and their resolution is to purchase their newest. What happens a year from now when they have 27? Am I forced to buy new software every freakin year? Pinnacle SUCKS!!!

steer well clear of this junk

its gone from being a slightly usable and sometimes annoying programme to an unusable pile of crap, like other have said the customer support is non existent the programme started refusing to load when version 24 came out and no matter how many times i remove reload or repair it will not run . Also fed up with the updates being a complete standalone and not an update to the existing program .I fell for the hype a couple of times thinking that was just the way semi pro-enthusiast software was going to be , until i tried several other programs , then realised pinnacle is a total farce

Bugs and unresponsive on previewing/playback

This software is so poor, I had only been been using it approx 30 minutes before I encountered major issues. It became non-responsive during playback. Once it has played through the current clips you have been editing it gives you control once more. There is absolutely no way I can edit like this - whenever I try to preview anything I've edited the video and program freezes (I can hear audio so just have to wait it out until the video finishes playing).

Another thing I encountered before I decided not to waste any more time and just use another editing software was that when adding a title - and changing the font. It simply does not change the font! Only Times New Roman for me... WOO! I have no idea how a bug like that could make it past their testing team... or their developers for that matter?

I got it in a Humble Bundle so at least I didn't waste too much money.

Pinnacle Studio

Hey
I bought Pinnacle Studio 23+ , where the sound - which is to be used for soundtracks etc.
all of a sudden disappeared.

Have tried in vain to get Pinnacle to give a bid on how to make the program work again.
It is hopeless, they generate tons of so-called 'TICKETS' and do not read at all what one writes about the problem.
Have never experienced such poor service.

After 14 days of exchanges with the so-called TECH SERVICE, I give up and have to admit my money has been wasted.

Fortunately, there are other programs for editing and creating Video Slideshow.

My advice is - never buy Pinnacle products - regardless of version.

Ran once then crashed hard

Ran once then crashed hard. I have removed & reinstalled 3 times. Corel support is very poor. I can not seem to get rid of ALL PS24. Tried Studio removal,Win 10 uninstall and app cleaner from Pinnacle (?) there is still bits of PS24 left. I have been a Pinnacle Studio user since their 1st release for PCs. Customer support is terrible. I will give this another few tries and then ask for my money back.
I have transcripts and email but do not know how to post them

Why do i keep coming back

Why do i keep coming back - cause i'm afraid to get something else. Since v.7 I've put up with it's quirkiness, here's a feature-oh, we take it away in next version; nope that doesn't work anymore either. Crash, won't close, won't open. Tech support is useless. 24 finally put me over the edge. Getting my money back - I'm done!

Have been using Pinnacle for years with…

Have been using Pinnacle for years with no problems, until their latest creations, which basically are a waste of time and money. Think their so called support team thinks so too, as they don’t know what to suggest about various crashes and freezes using 29 Ultimate upgrade. Definitely not recommended, Will be asking for money back, and investing in sometime more reliable.

I have to agree with everyone on this…

I have to agree with everyone on this page. After being with them the past 2 years have been nothing but consistent disaster of crashing. And when you use the effects it crashes or just simply (mine would disappear.) The more you discover learning the program the worst the crashing. I stumbled across this page to find, I'm not the only one. They should be ashamed of themselves but they aren't and you don't get any great tech support. Everybody, chalk up your losses, find another product, time is slipping into the future. It's about having the time to put into learn a new. I know it hurts but it's time to make that decision. LOTS OF TIME WASTED, LOST AND SIGNIFICANT-MAJOR SET-BACK. It's time to move on and hope for the best. NO MORE WASTING TIME FOR THEM TO FIX IT and by the way; I ended up with 3 effects! And how many is suppose to be included in the program? Staying with them has really crashed my world. And needful to say; after you put all the time into your project; it crashes and change the quality of what you had. THIS IS SO SAD!

Upgrade from 22 to 24. Ouch. Bad, Corel, Bad.

I upgraded from 22 to 24 because I have long waited for masking. Now the project is here, PS24 is installed, and the crashes are unbelievable! Clips lock in place and won't move, rendering just stops and doesn't restart... unless you close the movie, then the program and restart. IMPOSSIBLE to edit this way.

I'm currently uninstalling to reinstall... but when I tried the repair tool... guess what? It got stuck and before it automatically restarted my computer, I saw an error message, though I couldn't read it in time.

I preferred to buy physical, but afforded myself just the download. The very NEXT DAY, I received an email for the same price, buying physical with FREE shipping. Will they send me a disk??

And what's up with NEW BLUE FX?? I can still use them with PS22 but not PS24?? I'll look into this more, but at the onset, I say "Bad move, Corel".

Like most other comments I see, I've used this software for maybe 15 years and now believe it's time to find a new one. COREL, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?

Bye Bye Pinnacle Studio, you are terrible!

I like many others on this blog are dumbfounded! I don't know what the hell happened to this company. I had earlier versions on slower/non multimedia computers work great or at least suitable! Now, 2020, Studio 23 is painful on my new, fast multimedia driven PC. Support runs you through "fixes" that quite frankly should not have to be done on a new install, new computer and still doesn't work. I asked for a refund but I guess they're smart enough to only have a 30 day money back guarantee. Jokes on us!
Bye Bye! I'm done!

The worst video software on the market

The latest versions and especially version 24 are the worst nightmare. I use Pinnacle Studio since version 9. There were always bugs included in this software, but we could still control them. But version 24 definitely holds the record for the worst video software on the market. What are these programmers doing? Are they all millennials unable to write a code properly? Instead of adding unnecessary functions, or even modifying tools that previously worked well, they would do better to spend their time solving all the problems that the software has presented for years. In my opinion, the program should be completely rewritten using another renderer in addition. Renderer which itself is the source of many problems. In any case, to prove the contrary, this is the last time I bought Pinnacle Studio.

Just upgraded from Studio 23 to Studio…

Just upgraded from Studio 23 to Studio 24. This would be more than a dozen years using Pinnacle Studio products from Pinnacle Studio 9. Through all the crashes and issues. The last few version (23) did well. But now, it crashes half a dozen times every hour. The most recent crash did not allow for "continue editing" to work and over 2 hours of work lost. Never again Pinnacle. This product can't perform its job anymore. I'm done.

Pinnacle 24

Pinnacle 24: Was using Pinnacle 14 and went to 24. When working on a clip it stops working. Reboot and will work for 4 or 5 minutes then stops working. Reboot required. Would not buy again.

Big Mistake

I was really excited to purchase Pinnacle23 recently. I've been using an older version for many years and wanted to upgrade. I completed my first movie (about 6 minutes long, with titles, photos and a sound track) and in the PInnacle EDIT window it looked great and all components worked perfectly. That's the end of the good news. I rendered the movie and EXPORTED it to an MP4 file. Upon playback the background music (which was the whole point of the video, original composition, etc.) just stopped at :57 though the visual part of the movie continued to play. I spent 6 hours going over everything, checking every setting, even tried changing the original music file from a .wav file to an MP3. Rebooted the computer and Pinnacle. Same result every time. So.......
......I emailed tech support. Someone responded the next day with a list of things to try. I tried them all, using a full day, including; making doubly sure to "render" the complete movie prior to "exporting.
Same result every time, no music at :57! Now whatt? This is brand new, out of the box, expensive software. It is a piece of junk that I can now use as a Frizbee. My experience suggests that you should not purchase this product. Money down the drain.

I’m ready to get a divorce from Pinnacle

I’ve used Pinnacle since version 9 and was excited to get a new computer and treat myself to Pinnacle 23 Ultimate. After many hours of work I experienced the death crash. It took 2 days of calling support before they finally sent me the email where they had me do a complete uninstall and clean sweep, start a whole new Windows user profile and finally re-download. I was hopeful but today it started doing the same buggy thing that lead to the last crash. I’m ready to get a divorce from Pinnacle. It’s a shame because when it’s working it offers a quality video but I can’t afford to keep losing hours of work, it’s stressful and just not worth it. I wish they would’ve just concentrated on making a solid product, fix what is already out there instead of fast tracking to edition 24.

Even minus 5 would be too much as a rating

I have been working with Pinnacle since over 20 years and since Corel took over it worsens with every edition. Last year I bought 23 ultimate and that will be the last one. I have to reinstall or 'repair' the program several times when I am working on a project. I have a very fast computer with 8 cores and 32 gigabyte memory but that is to no avail when it handles the utter shaky software Corel made of something which once was indeed a pinnacle, now it has become pain-in-the-ass at it's best, most of the time it is just a nightmare. So the score of 1 is because you cannot give a negative rating here: -5 stars would be more appropriate
