Asbestos removal done safely
About three weeks ago I was having some work done in my house. When it came to the main bedroom the decorator said that he was concerned about the bedroom ceiling. He thought it was asbestos.
I managed to find a licensed asbestos testing company and they confirmed it was white asbestos; the least dangerous.
The testing company gave me a list of licensed asbestos removal companies. Based on Piers experience quoted on their website I chose to use them. I sent them an email and that was then followed by a call to one of their managers. I explained the situation and the date was arranged.
Not only does Pier remove the asbestos they also arrange for an independent company to visit after the work to carry out a air quality safety check.
Well the Pier employee arrived on the day at the time specified. He lined everything with plastic sheeting, the bedroom door was sealed and within 4 hours the ceiling was removed. The asbestos waste was removed and the room thoroughly cleaned. Then the air quality test was carried out and I got the confirmation that all was safe.
Prior to this removal work being carried out I had had the landing and hallway newly papered and freshly painted. There was not a mark after the work was completed !
Apart from the ceiling being removed you would not have known that this type of work had been done in that bedroom.
The asbestos has also been disposed of safely at a certified site.
