Company was deceptive
Company was deceptive. They are a health insurance company that sends a lot of emails to sign up, once I signed up, they called me a month and a half later and said I never signed up. During that time my job withdrew the fee from my paystub, that the insurance charges. They do not provide an insurance card. To get an insurance card you MUST get hurt, go to Mexico, and one specific hospital gives you a card. Other companies offer an app or mail you an Insurance card. So when you get hurt, you can use it. They try to pivot the conversation to say that you should be grateful to have insurance (that you can’t even use because of the complicated and absurd process needed to get a card). I had 6 phone calls because the sign up process is complicated. My company has repeated told me that I didn’t sign up according to the insurance company, but I’ve been paying into it and have my pay stubs to prove I’ve paid into it. It’s odd they want another sign up, either to collect more money or because they are disorganized and unethical. DO NOT DO BUSINESSS with. Avoid at all cost.
Company should:
1. Provide a physical card and stop playing games on a complicated process to get a card.
2. From the date you enroll, be enrolled for a year, instead of having to make multiple calls to be asked and harassed to re-enroll. Don’t lose peoples information to continuously ask them to enroll. Respect that they’ve submitted it and make sure they are covered so you don’t have to continuously bother them (a total of 6 calls did not fix it, a 7th supposedly fixed it, supposedly)
3. Stop being spammy and trying to hunt people down to sign up. Send ONE email and give people time to sign up. If they don’t sign up, don’t spam them with all emails or phone calls because you’re a money hungry organization. Don’t ask companies to hunt down employees on your behalf. If people don’t want to sign up, respect their decision and accept it as final. I felt coerced by my company and the insurance company by how many emails I received. I wanted insurance but there was a lot of coercion on top of it. Before, this company partnered with Pickering insurance, there was no coercion. After partnering, the actual company reaches out multiple times and Pickering insurance sends harassing emails to sign up.
4. Don’t tell customers you’re generous for helping them. Customers are paying for a service and will decide if it’s good or not. A transaction is being made and you’re not fulfilling your obligation to the transaction.
5. If the product was good, it would sell itself. There is no need to contact employer to PUSH product on employees and coerce them into buying your insurance products.
