Petplan provided such peace of mind. Having insured both my dogs for 13 years with them I new when my dog had an extreme reaction to a post operative medication and needed 2 extra days in hospital I could agree to the treatment not having to worry how I would find the extra £1,500. The vets were comfortable to proceed too as they new Petplan are an excellent insurer for claims and payments. I didn't have a choice on my dogs treatment she needed the care otherwise she wouldn't be with us. I could concentrate on getting her home and caring fur her to full recovery because Petplan was there for us when we needed them the most.
I recommend Petplan.

Payed my claim in full with no fuss and the whole process was worry free

Petplan are a reliable company , that pays out claims without fuss. When you visit the referral vets they trust Petplan to pay for the treatment , which means i dont have to pay up front which is vital for larger claims. My lovely boy has ongoing health issues which requires constant medication for the rest of his life. I never have to worry about whether I can afford it .Petplan are there to support us. In fact without Petplan My special boy would not be here living his best life. Thank goodness he was insured from a puppy. Something i would recommend everyone to do.

Choosing Petplan is easily the best decision I’ve made for my dog. Their plans are straightforward, the pricing is fair, and I finally have peace of mind knowing I’m covered if the unexpected happens. Just had a claim made for my cat to PetPlan by my Vet. claim was dealt with professionally between vet & PetPlan. Payment was sorted between them without intervention by myself. Would recommend PetPlan as a supplier of Pet insurance. Well worth it.

I have been with Pet Plan since 1978 and it has covered my five Siamese cats. I now have only one cat and he has just turned 14. The premiums jumped 15% this year and 16% the year before. My current quote is £1,083 up from £919 last year. I never made a claim last year but there is no acknowledgement of this in the price. Because of Solo's age I have to pay £115 excess plus 20% of the remaining bill so a cost of £1,000 would mean a pay out of only £708. I would be so much better off if I had just saved the money spent on the premiums. The insurance does not cover vaccinations but if Solo was not vaccinated then the insurance would be invalidated. Pet Plan is an absolute rip-off and relies upon pet owners being willing to pay almost anything for their pets' health. I can afford to pay should Solo fall ill but how many pet owners are in this lucky position? Imagine a pensioner on a basic income being asked to pay £90 per month for one cat. Their only option might be to have their beloved pet euthanised -not covered on my policy by the way!

I have cancelled my policy. Too many hedge fund owners and not enough independent vets and insurers.

First time claim was processed really quickly haven’t had policy long but my kitten developed an infection after being dressed which meant an emergency trip over night to vet petplan dealt with everything and paid me within days they are great would highly recommend petplan for pet owners

Wow what a really big let down!
Pet plan are a waste of money and waste of time. Im absolutely horrified that my £1300 vet bill got rejected, I kept pet plan up to date with paper work and phone calls, from the beginning of April however they were just not interested in helping me with my claim what so ever. I’m now having to scrape the funds together myself, by selling all my items such as jewellery I own, and taking big lump sums out of my pay checks for the next two months, that would of ordinarily been for food and bills. I am now currently looking for a new quote of insurance that will actually help us.
What was even worse when I went to cancel my insurance with pet plan on the phone the lady said my next payment was coming up soon, before I could even cancel the direct debit at my end, pet plan nicked £60 out of my bank. Really unprofessional and cheeky. DO NOT RECOMMEND, a bunch of money grabbers.

Easy to fill in forms good communication and claim paid. Good value for money and peace of mind that my pet can have the treatment needed.

have never claimed before and was a little anxious of who did what and when. The vet Flynn was referred to in Runcorn were extremely helpful and did a direct claim to you. All the stress and worry was taken away by your professional and considerate manner settling the vet bill

This was my first ever claim & the whole process was so easy to do, especially as it was with 2 different vets - 1st with the emergency vets then my own vets practice. Both claims were settled very quickly. I am highly satisfied.

I do believe you get what you pay for.
The policy fee for my precious dog is pretty pricey, but the cover I receive is worth every penny and gives me complete peace of mind.

I phoned and asked how their claim process works, how the money is refunded if the claim is successful. The lady I spoke to, whilst polite enough, went through all the policy details, then asked if there was anything else she could help with? So, we started again. It was also very hard to hear what she was saying as I believe she was outside by a road somewhere. Doesn't install faith. Lets see what happens

Petplan has been marvellous over the past 10 years for my Dog Buzby when he hasn't been well. Petplan are easy to contact all you do is pay a monthly insurance and you pay the vet (unless it is £500 or over Petplan will pay the vet directly) after you pay the vet you either fill in the form online or ask the vet to fill ìn for you. After Petplan has dealt with the claim they will pay the money into your bank account. It usually takes around 7-10 days. (If over £500 you can ask Petplan to pay the vet direct) Petplan is the best insurance because everything is straight forward with them and they pay if your animal is older than 10 years where other insurances don't always pay out

Having this backup, of the whole team, has made the ownership of our very active and supportive friend, Polly Dog, so much easier in that we know, that with everyone’s help, we can source the knowledge and advice to provide the proper level of care for our dog whenever it is needed. This comes at a cost but that cost to date is very worthwhile. Thank you all.

I have been with Perplan for over 23 years and have always received excellent service. My. only concern is the cost of living generally because this insurance is so important to me. for my dogs wellfarfe, and so I have to try to continue to afford it in the lifetime of my much loved dogs, which they are still in my care.

They do everything well .Best pet insurance we have used and we have had cats for many years .

I have been a customer of PetPlan for over a decade, insuring my two cats who are of no specific breed. I have had occasion to claim just once, for a potential dental issue with one of the cats which turned out to be nothing and just a cleaning was required.
During the last 12 years or so the annual price has increased threefold.
Don't get me wrong, I expect to pay more as my pets age but the latest price increase has left me frustrated and feeling that they are now just taking advantage. For context, PetPlan's renewal quote is higher than my car insurance for a 2.2l SUV - and I only have a provisional license!
I will most likely continue with PetPlan for the duration of the lives of my pets for the sole reason that their customer service and claims process aren't too bad. If and when I have new pets however, I will think twice about using PetPlan - they are extortionately expensive and frankly poor value for money, especially when your pet reaches 10 years old. I would, in hind-sight, been considerably better off saving the equivalent of their policy premiums instead.
