Beware Per Mar Security Services!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Per Mar Security Services purchased a company that I had done business with for over 35 years (Barone Security). Never in those 35 years was there ever a problem or a disappointing service experience.
Per Mar has been frustrating to deal with to say the least.
This is an update to a post from 2 years ago. After a major debacle of the install of the new camera receiver. I called Barrett Baker (a supervisor) to have the lenses on the cameras cleaned. The technician showed up with a broken extension ladder and couldn't access the cameras on the rear of the house. Then when he went to clean the ones in front that could be accessed with a 6' ladder. He took an old torn work shirt and spit on it and wiped off the lens. Long story short upon calling Barrett to complain he LITERALLY called me a liar. The tech was on camera doing exactly what I claimed. I had to send the video to the office manager Derek to prove it.

Just recently I called to have the batteries changed and a system test performed. A gentleman showed up with the tech introducing himself as the new operations manager Chris Hein. Firstly, he told me that the battery replacement wasn't part of the agreement, inferring for the first time that I was wrong. I have had the maintenance agreement for approximately 4 years and have had the batteries replaced all of those years. After ensuating that I was misinformed he finally acknowledged that they were part of the agreement. The CO detector would not test. He said that he would get me a price on replacing it. I had it replaced 4 years previous. The price to replace this one had more than doubled. I called him concerned about the price ($200 in 2021and over $400 today) and having to replace faulty equipment every 4 years. Chris inferred that I was lying again saying that there was no record of the 2021 install and kept repeating it every time I insisted it was. Thank goodness I keep receipts. You should be able to trust your life to the equipment they are installing to last more than a few short years.
It seems that Per Mar Security Services trains their employees to question and disparage the customer.
To change monitoring companies would entail changing out the entire system at a significant expense. They know that and I believe that is why they treat customers the way they do.

If you want your honesty & integrity impugned Per Mar is the company for you.

Non-Union Company

Its a shame that this company doesn't want union workers to be apart of their workforce. Unions help keep a strong workforce and the employees happy with the company. Better wages and better health insurance for the employees.

Spurious fire/smoke alarm…

We had a spurious fire alarm with no smoke or fire but a lot of noise! Per Mar suggested a visit by one of their technicians, who showed up on time the next day.

Paul Hemann was courteous and knowledgeable and did the best one could do concerning a spurious alarm. He cleaned the monitoring device, set it off to insure all was working correctly, and showed me a few more pointers about the control panel.

He was quite thorough.

Another company ruined by a buyout.

Another company ruined by a buyout.
I was a long time customer of Per Mar Security. The owner used to answer the phone. When we moved last year I called to set up monitoring and instead if a human answering I was transferred to a sales person voice mail. A salesperson should be at their desk or at least return my call. I called 5 days in a row. Finally she answered the phone, but not my questions. Would not or could not give me a monthly price. I gave up. I am disgusted by the mess they made of this company.

Had them for 3mo it was 3mo of hell…

Had them for 3mo it was 3mo of hell they kept telling me that they were sorry for all of the problems that I was having that it was a new system and that they were trying to get all of the bugs work out....Now with ADT so far so good
