Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 241 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complained about extremely poor support, mentioning severe language barriers, unhelpful template responses, and exceptionally rude behavior from staff members during calls. People also struggled heavily with the outdated website design, buggy testing software, and overly strict monitoring rules that frequently caused sudden exam terminations. Some people were satisfied with the professional, caring staff and found the testing process to be smooth and straightforward at certain physical locations. Consumers also noted that the service functioned adequately as long as technical glitches did not interfere with their scheduled appointments.

BEWARE!! SCAM!!!

BEWARE!!! Stay AWAY from Pearson. Horrible. I was doing the check in and had NOT even STARTED the test yet and on my screen it said I had to check in with the proctor before my test (which I thought was normal because they probably want to see my desk and my room). On the screen it said "We may contact you through phone. So I got up to check to see if they tried to reach me through my phone to do the check in. When I came back to my computer, the screen was open to instructions for the test, which I thought was weird. When I started reading, I got a message on my screen from the proctor that said "I saw you left your seat, did you finish your test?" I wrote back "no I did not even click start on the test yet, I thought you were going to check in with me." So I then hit start and immediately my test closed and a message popped up saying "You have been caught using a prohibited item, you automatically fail the test and forfeit the fee." I appealed the decision to customer service and they found that I DID violate their policy and they will keep my money and not give me another test. A HUGE SCAM! GO TAKE IT IN PERSON!!!

I'm dyslexic

I'm dyslexic, and I recently went to take my GED. As an English speaker, I needed accommodations, but they assigned me a reader whose first language is not English. This made it extremely difficult for me to understand the instructions and content of the test. I didn't want to come off as rude, but I struggled to comprehend everything being read to me. Afterward, I contacted Pearson Vue to explain my situation and the impact it had on my performance. Unfortunately, they informed me that they couldn't assist me in retaking the test with a reader who is a native English speaker. Consequently, I'll have to pay again to take the test, hoping for a better experience next time. It's disappointing that Pearson Vue couldn't recognize the importance of providing the right support for individuals with accommodations. This experience felt unfair, and I believe stronger measures should be taken to ensure that everyone has a fair opportunity to succeed.

Very Poor Customer service

Having an issue with a voucher I was advised to call the helpdesk as they couldnt do what was needed through Chat. This was a big mistake. The agent accused me of lying stating I had no account even though I was logged in, looking at the account and providing details from the dashboard. The agent then continually asked me to stay online. This at first was reassuring that the agent was keen to fix, but how wrong was I. The agent failed to listen past any comments or recommendations I suggested. I asked for a supervisor and the agent again asked an already answered question. Eventually after 20 mins of not getting anywhere, I hung up. I spoke to the training provider who stated they could proctor the exam instead. Problem solved. Will avoid Pearson Vue from now on if I can.

I could give Zero Stars I would

I could give Zero Stars I would. Two of my technical people ran into Pearson's tech issues and couldn't get the exams finished with their vouchers. After emailing back n forth with an entirely unhelpful email desk, finally went on FB to send them a dm. Response was here's the link to call us, with no phone number. After 2 months I have failed to recover the costs of the vouchers. I will be calling the credit card company to dispute the charges.

Online application not reliable at all

I performed a test a few days before my exam and even just before the exam and everything was fine, I was able to speak to my proctor who asked me to show her all the space around me through my web cam. Then, once she was satisfied she told me to wait while she was releasing my exam: after waiting 2-3 minutes I asked her if there were any issues, since nothing was happening and she told me "let me check", then suddenly PearsonVue crashed and I lost my connection. After trying to restart, it said that my access code was no longer valid. The customer service was not able to do nothing then opening a ticket and the reply to this ticket (a few days later) was that from their logs I was not able to accept NDA. That is impossible since I accepted everything, and since my proctor had verified that everything was fine from my side and she was releasing my exam to me.
That email was a "do not reply to this message", so there is no way to replicate.
So, loose your money and do not complain, please

Pearson OnVue - don’t use it

After doing all the app installations and pre-checks, I was ready for my test.

Device set up, testing space set up, everything ready.

On the day during check in, the app re-did the equipment tests. The app detected tskmgr.exe as running!

Of all things, the app you’re supposed to use in troubleshooting AND an app that wasn’t even running.

The app could not detect further closures of Task Manager and prompted re-scheduling.

Case was escalated - support person was nice but very limited in what they could do.

The reviews are all true. The Pearson OnVue system provides a horrible experience and is unreliable.

Do not use it.

This company is a borderline scam

This company is a borderline scam. I've been trying to cancel my test for 2.5 days. The site will not give you a contact number. EVERY link on the site simply sends you to a FAQ page- every link on that page sends you to the beginning of the FAQ page. Spent 1hour and 17 minutes on hold with a representative coming on every 3-5 minutes saying "we are next in line" Complete BS

Absolutely do not recommend. Wasted my time. I studied and crammed for weeks just for the technology to not work. Then customer service did nothing to assist me.

Pearson VUE a scam

I think Pearson VUE legitimately might be a scam. Partner lost $100s attempting to take a certification test because od THEIR technical errors. All customer service numbers listed are either fake or take you in circles and the “help chat” claims to be a real person but is definitely nothing but bots. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE if you don’t want to lose money.

GO IN PERSON do not trust the online…

GO IN PERSON do not trust the online exams, It was the worst experience I have ever had. I was on time, I took photos of my surroundings as requested and they told me the photos of my desktop were too dark, so I took them again with more light even opened all the windows and again they said they were still too dark all the sudden I got a popup that stated I would have to reschedule. So after going thru this twice. I wanted to go in person but their website would only give me the online option. I looked on their website to find a phone number and couldn't. so I search with Chatgpt and finally found one. The lady on the phone did not speak English well and I didn't want to offend her, but after the 4th time trying to understand her I had to ask for someone else. They put me on hold for 40 minutes they hung up on me. I called back and still got the run around.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. On Vue is clunky and hit or miss, communicating in English is difficult and there is no customer support. I wouldn't use them again if I didn't have to. Test in person if you can. Their online testing is bad.

If I could give it one star I would

If I could give it one star I would. I logged in before my exam and waiting in a queue so long that it kicked me out before my exam and told me to reschedule. For someone with small children who had to hire sitters and prepare for this exam this is unacceptable. Over twenty minutes to check my id and photo to get logged into an exam and ultimately I was unable to write it.

No speakers no exam despite sitting 2 others with the exact same setup.

Sat two other exams with this company and both times I didn't have speakers (who uses speakers in 2025) and they were happy to proceed and let me sit the exam. Yesterday no speakers, and the proctor closed the exam without even letting me talk to him. Customer service is absolutely useless. They will not give you the time of day or listen to what you are trying to tell them, and then my appeal email rejection says that my internet was not good enough, yet my issue was with not having speakers. I recommend people avoid this company when booking an exam.

NEGATIVE 10 STARS if I could!

This has been the most horrible experience I’ve ever had with a testing company — Pearson VUE is absolutely awful.
I took my exam at their testing center a week ago, and I STILL don’t have my results. My exam has two parts: the State and the National. I already passed the State portion earlier this year with PSI, so I only needed to retake the National portion.
Before scheduling, I even called Pearson VUE and was told to take just the National portion and stop after that. But when I showed up at the testing center, the staff acted like they had NEVER heard of anyone doing that before. The proctor had no idea how to close out my test and told me to “call Pearson VUE” for my results.
Now, my account says “delivery failed,” and Pearson VUE keeps giving me the same runaround — “We’re working on it,” “You’ll get an email soon.” It’s been seven days. Nothing. No results, no follow-up, no accountability!!!!
To make things worse, I can’t even reschedule because my account says I have an “open registration.” So I’m completely stuck while they figure out their own mess!!!!!
I’m now reaching out to my state commission to file a formal complaint and beg them to go back to PSI. Pearson VUE’s customer service is nonexistent, their communication is terrible, and their testing process is a disaster.
If I could give them negative 10 stars, I would. Absolutely unacceptable.

Horrendous

Scheduled an online exam. Passed the system test, but the OnVue app got stuck at "loading..." even after rebooting system and trying all sorts of suggestions mentioned online to fix it. When I finally was able to launch the app, it was 15 minutes after my scheduled time and I was not able to proceed.

I spent 45 minutes with the online Pearson VUE support, repeating questions over and over, which were just dodged. I was not provided with any assistance whatsoever. The representative, Doe, briefly filed a "case" but refused to send me a confirmation e-mail of the case. Moreover, the Doe declined to confirm in writing that she or he was unable to help me log in and take my exam.
