Paul Fredrick is not the company it used to be.

Years ago, the selection was outstanding — colorful, unique, and full of rich shades that were hard to find elsewhere. The blues were truly beautiful: royal blue, cobalt blue, and other vibrant colors that made the brand stand out. Today, that same selection and character seem to be missing.

The workmanship also used to be superb. Unfortunately, the quality has declined noticeably, especially since more of the products appear to be made in China. The clothing may still look acceptable online, but the overall quality no longer reflects the premium image the company once had.

The biggest disappointment is the packing and shipping. For an order over $1,000, the items were carelessly thrown loose into an oversized, thin box with poor protection. The box was not properly packed, secured, or reinforced. By the time it goes through UPS handling, you are simply hoping the items arrive without damage. That is unacceptable for a company selling higher-priced clothing.

Customer service will apologize and promise to correct the issue, but this has become a repeated experience. At some point, apologies are not enough. The company needs to fix the way it handles customer orders.

It feels like Paul Fredrick is now more focused on the bottom line than on quality, presentation, and customer experience. That is very disappointing for a longtime customer who remembers how good this brand used to be.

I have ordered from PF a few times in the past. As always, they deliver quality and stylish men's clothing. On this occasion I order pleated pants and I decided to try alterations just to check it out and verify its level of attention to detail. I was very impressed and completely satisfied based on my instructions when I ordered. In fact, the alterations were better than my local dry cleaners/alterations store...and cheaper. I highly recommend Paul Fredrick.com and give their alterations a try. You will be dressed to impress.
