Cancelled a stay after being told I would not be charged, then had the full amount taken out of my bank. They lie and do not reply. Book direct and do not use.

Arrived for a 3 night stay and on locating my allotted caravan I noticed there was a chalet directly next to my caravan right outside the front door that looked as if it had been hit by a missile. It was derelict falling apart and awaiting demolition. Looking out of my caravan window brought a site you would see on the worst of council estates. How this booking can be in line with their and I quote 'High standards' is beyond me. Not a single employee with a grain of customer care awareness would be happy with it if it was given to them. I was informed there was no alternative caravan available and I was refused a refund.

I booked a 3 night camping stay at Ty Mawr in North Wales. The holiday was booked in my name but unfortunatly I was unable to make it on the first day due to work commitments. I contacted Parkresorts through web chat and asked was if it was ok for my family to arrive on time and I would arrive the day after. The representative insisted I change the name of the lead person on the booking and there would be an admin charge of £20. I thought this was unreasonable. The representative insisted that unless I paid the admin charge my family would not be allowed on the site. As a matter of principle I said I am not paying it as I don't believe it was reasonable for a 3 night camping stay with 2 dogs that I paid £125 for. I asked for a contact address via email or postal address to complain however I was informed that no option was available to contact them via any method other than online chat. I am not impressed with this Company and think the customer service is the worst I have experienced in quite sometime. I will not be making any future bookings.

We booked an upgraded caravan at barmston beach on east coast as per illustration on booking form expecting a nearly new immaculate caravan we got an old probably 10 yrs old caravan wich was run down with many niggly faults asked to be moved to what we had ordered were told it was what we ordered it clearly was not was offered 2 alternatives but niether were suitable site is run down with many old vans some covered in green alge woul definately say book someswhere else
regarding response this reply looks to me like a standard printed letter sent with no regard by people who have no repect for customers who expect value for money as long as they get theirs advertising illustrations to decieve and scam people knowing full well they wont get what they expect

Still waiting for a refund for my September "holiday", in a caravan so filthy,we couldn't stay. First reply "sorry to hear you are unhappy blah blah blah, but no refund. I complain to next level" no refund because you stayed on park " no we didn't "no refund because you didn't stay and give up a chance to resolve the issue " yes we did but staff were unable to
Now it's "we are not giving you a refund because you bragged about complaining and getting money back?" I've asked for a copy of phone call. The staff at this park ,told us they'd had a group of visitors who smashed the caravans up I told her I'd had similar experience at another local holiday park,so I had to leave and claim a refund. That is not grounds to refuse a refund this time. Throughout numerous communications,no one has denied that the caravan was dirty,or that they told that unfortunately I had come at the end of a long busy season or that the staff member had told me about the group of people smashing the caravans up. They are refusing to commicate anymore.

One to definitely avoid, they will disappoint if you try to book here. We booked well in advance to be told two days before arriving that they could not accommodate our motorhome due to the ground being wet on a grass pitch which is fair enough so they said we could go onto a hard standing pitch instead so all seemed OK. The next day we get a call from Lucy to say that the hard standing pitch was also now unsuitable bearing in mind that we are all packed up and kids excited to be going away, our 5 year old had packed the week prior and was super exited. The hard standing pitch apparently would need to be accessed by going over grass, new one on me but this also was now not an option. We then were offered a site caravan to use, not ideal but the family could still get to go away although not to our usual standard. This however was soon shattered by them stating it would not be on the days that we booked and requested we come whilst the kids were still at school. I said maybe we just turn up so that the manager could tell our children why they could not have a holiday and explain yet I was then to be accused of being threatening to which at no point did I threaten anyone and the recorded phone call has been requested in writing. Today I received an email from another manager Rhian Hughes who yet again slating me as an individual although I have not done anything wrong. My family deserves better then this and luckily we have friends on site at the moment who are going to take pictures of the park, I wonder if Alfred and Jason Jeffrey now how their staff are running the site but they are about to find out. Never in all the years of motorhoming have we come across such arrogance and rudeness and it will not be tolerated, plenty of parks around that are more professional run just a shame it’s too late to book anything at such short notice and my family have been left disappointed.
In response to the reply please be aware that at no point did I become angry or rude which is why I have requested a copy of the call and together with emails and your reply here I will take legal action for deformation. My complaint concerning legal action was not about the pitch it was about your responses which including your reply here are simply not true and therefore people need to be warned and action taken to rectify your attitude

Nice to see thjat consitancy is in their blood. 3 years later from my previous review they are still the same, taking what ever money they can without giving in return, turned our electric off and closed the site for 3 weeks and only gave us half off the 3 weeks was clsed, yet applied the credit after the deadline for paying following years pitch fees, so add it to your owners account so they get it back against bills so you dont get refunded for your loss,

We checked in after 9pm and their was no one as reception to help check us in. We drove around a poorly sign posted caravan resort and eventually resorted to going to the main events area (the hub) and had to ask a waiter to check us in.
After wading through mud to our caravan (no hard paths) we were presented with a below average caravan. The stairs weren't grippy leading into it and we immediately noticed several large holes throughout the caravan that can only be described as a bodge job "fix". The wallpaper had been ripped in places and the view was a concrete wall from the main bedroom. The back end of the caravan smelt of feaces. Their were no towles or bath matts despite being told by one of their operators that although they "provided bedding, they advise bringing towles" although they didn't state that it's because they didn't provide any at all-including bath matts which resulted in a family member slipping on the wet floor. The water was then carried out through the caravan which made the whole place unsafe. When I went to raise this issue with the park deans team they simply stated that we could buy towels from a shop in town because they didn't have any-at all -within the resort. I found this hard to believe that they didn't have cloths anywhere or at least blue roll so we could dry the floor. I felt the staff were less than helpful and very patronising and actually didn't want to help. Taking 4 children out the resort to spend more money on towels because the staff hadn't informed us to bring any was both time consuming and an extra expense because of their negligence to inform us properly prior to the holiday.
When we went to book into activities we were told their was no app and only a food and drink app so we missed out on entertainment. This turned out not to be true and their was an app. The staff are not trained properly.
Swimming isn't included in the price and after spending £48 for three children and myself- the session turned out to be 30 minutes long. The pool was horrendously run down and smelt of human feaces. I feel their may be a drainage issue throughout the park.
The entertainment for children was disappointing and the entertainers just didn't care.
Over all- don't do it. Go to Butlins. Go anywhere else. We will never return partly because of the cost of everything but mostly because of the staffs attitude, the run down entertainment and the filthy pool. We left a night early as well because honestly, sitting in the traffic for 8 hours was preferred by all rather than spend another night.

Avoid Highfield grange resort at all costs. I arrived on Friday 30th June and on 1st July woke up to bed bugs all over the bed, blood splatter everywhere. I went to reception at 9 am, and the young lady rang the accommodation team after I showed her photos, they t9ld her they can't move us incase we take them into another van, that we would need to go home and that she would need to log the complaint. I've heard nothing. I spoke with someone on the online chat, sent photos of their pet bed bugs and my body photos coveted in bites, aga8n told my refund would take 5 to 7 days, I've still heard nothing. I drove 2 hours home to sit at a laundrette for 2 hours to wash all clothing as I didn't fancy risking my house with Highfield granges pets. Ive wasted t8me and money, fuel etc and today on the online chat I was told the park has marked my complaint as resolved. What a joke. I want my weekend refunded and all other expenses compensated.
Further to my correspondence which I had to leave reviews, posts on their fb and message the ceo feedback, the park have still had no contact with myself and through fb messenger have offered to partially refund me and wanting to charge me for my first nights stay with bed bugs.

Arrived earlier today staying on The Meadows for the weekend. Best thing about the place was the check-in process. Due to COVID, the caravan was unlocked and the keys on the table.
The first complaint is the location of the caravan. Pretty much the furthest location on the park from the entrance and entertainment. It takes a good 5 minutes to drive from the entrance to the caravan so the walk on a night would be at least 20 minutes to the entertainment centre and the roads are not lit. Some roads are ripped up with gaping holes. It's an accident waiting to happen so sadly, we won't be using the entertainment facilities.
It's our first time at a Park Dean Park. We usually stay at Haven and the entertainment centres with them are usually central to all accommodation, unlike Park Dean who decide to put caravans in places where you need to get a bus to the entrance from your caravan.
The caravan stinks. The sofa is full of stains. The TV isn't secure. It has a wall bracket on the back but isn't wall mounted nor does it have a stand so it just lays down.
The shower head doesn't stay up. It falls down and swings towards the wall so you can't have a shower without holding the shower head towards yourself.
The bathroom also has cobwebs and dead flies everywhere.
The bathroom door can't be closed as it got stuck earlier with my son inside and I had to force it open. The handle looks like its jabbed with a screwdriver so it's obviously happened before.
Oh well. You live and learn. Waste of money.

We were supposed to stay here a week we stayed one night we had no electric and our caravan sunk on the water logged pitch, the whole surrounds were over grown the trees knocked on the caravan and the hedges were a disgrace reported it to reception they wanted us to move for one night after we had unpacked to come back to this pitch before 10am the next morning as the temporary overnight pitch was booked out to someone else we said we would stay as long electric was sorted out as promised the next morning, we were assured by the maintenance man it would, next day no electrician arrived we went back to reception and spoke to a manager whom apologised to us and said she would try sort something out we went back up later as asked by her (by the way they never answer the phone) and was told she had not sorted owt out as she didn't have time .
The manager was very blasé about our stay and it came across that she really did not care that our holiday was ruined i asked her for a move she said they were full and could not offer us another pitch (funny that because i checked on their website and it said they had 2 pitches available after i spoke to her) i asked the manager if we left could we have a full refund as no point staying when we had no electric so could not use our caravan she agreed its been 9 days one reply from customer services stating they will pass on my complaint and nothing else i am so upset they ruined our holiday . I worked as a nurse on a covid ward and this was our first break it was supposed to be a relaxing time yet here i am on my first day crying out of frustration that Park dean resorts employ people whom have no care or compassion for their clients i will warn everyone i know about the way this site treats people its disgusting and i still have not received my refund which i was assured by the manager when i was leaving that she had authorised my refund!!!!!!!😡😭
Edited to add in reply to comment below to park dean i have already contacted customer relations and im still awaiting a response after they passed on my complaint!!!!!

We have stayed at Barmston Beach a number of times and have always enjoyed the peace and quiet of the park. However, our recent visit was not as we have previously experienced.
I booked the last “pet friendly” the Roseberry which is a 1 bedroomed caravan for myself, my husband and 2 dogs at a cost of £919 including a £50 early check in fee for 1 week, to arrive on Saturday 24th July.
When we arrived at the caravan, I couldn’t believe how small the living area was, it literally had a very small 2 seater sofa a TV stand and that was it, by the time I got the dogs bed in, there was literally no room at all. The kitchen was ok however, the fridge is really tiny too with an i e box that was iced up and I could only fit a packet of fish fingers and frozen peas in there!
The bedroom had a hairdryer on the wall that was so dirty that I actually wrote “hello” in it and took a picture. The radiator in the bathroom was the same, really dirty. The curtains in the bedroom had little holes in them which the sun beamed through each morning. The sheet for the bed didn’t fit and I couldn’t tuck the sides in under the mattress, the bed is a double bed, with a double quilt, so if it had been cold, we would have been frozen, there was only 1 spare very flat and sad little pillow in the wardrobe.
There were no instructions for any of the appliances, if there were, I couldn’t find them. Between the kitchen and living area, there was a skylight, it took me 2 days to find the pole which could open it, however, the skylight was broken. I went to reception to report it on Monday and was told that somebody come to repair it in the next 10 mins, up until us leaving early on the Thursday morning, nobody had been.
We decided that we’d had enough by the Wednesday evening and that we would leave first thing on Thursday morning, we cleaned the caravan up, sanitised everything and handed the keys into reception. The gentleman on reception was really lovely and mortified when I showed him the pictures.
Having returned home, I left it a couple of days and sent a complaint, with photos to Park Dean via their contact page, that was 10 days ago and they haven’t even acknowledged receipt, the same as the skylight- which I’ll bet still hasn’t been fixed!
All in all, we paid just short of £1,000 for a week in a substandard caravan and I’ll never, ever book a Park Dean holiday again, terrible customer service!
As a follow up from my review and the subsequent response on Trustpilot from Park Dean Resorts promising an investigation and call. I waited a couple of weeks with absolutely nothing, so I called Parkdean, spoke to a lovely young man who told me that he would pass it onto management as an urgent case - guess what? We are now coming into 7 - yes 7 weeks with me contacting them through phone call, reviews and their very own contact page, and I’ve heard NOTHING!!!
What a terrible organisation - do not book your holiday at Barmston Beach through Park Dean! Get in touch with them directly or via a private owner who actually want your business and it’ll save you around half the cost of purchasing a holiday through Park Dean!
Just a final comment, I haven’t written a negative review on any product before and am so blooming angry with Park Dean as you can probably tell!!

avoid, we booked a holiday and paid insurance incase of this not working out due to cronovirus.
we ask for an extention of 7 days to pay the final payment.. they refused say we had to cancel ..so we did the told we have lost all out payments and offered m a 5 pound refund.. disgusting service.
we explain our situation and that we had tried to sort the holiday for our disabled son ASD.
they refused to help or allow us 7 days to complete our payments..
they simply stole our paid money and with a low income that hurts, I ask how they calculate our refund as we were insured against cancelation.. reply was I use a calculator.. I also asked for a transcription of the web chat.. still not arrived and they are even emailing us to pay the rest...

Shocking customer service, only way to make contact is by using a contact on park resorts home page, with no link! No phone contacts /customer service at all, unless of course you want to buy, then there are lots of people. This company has gone downhill, no customer care, its all about the cash for Park Resorts, avoid!!

Stayed at Parkdean Resort Torquay was not warned about the only way to get a drink at the venue was to download there app when I said I don’t want to do that and was willing to pay contactless was rather abruptly told no download the app or go to the other restaurant where I could get a dink and meal and pay contactless there did not understand what the difference was , yet the arcade was open , people playing pool at the venue handling items that people have already touched ? and then if you wanted to go swimming you had to turn up in your swimwear as the changing rooms were closed , ok if it’s not cold and raining and if you don’t have an issue with your body. None of this is told to you until you have paid and have arrived at the park which is very hilly the majority off caravans are at the bottom of the hill and venue, swimming pool and restaurant are at the top will not be returning

Me my wife and a friend went to California Cliffs on the 30th October it was like being at Glastonbury mud and squad every where nobody can do any thing about that. I watched the video on the cleaning by Park Dean and expected the caravan to be spotless wrong the seating was very badly stained the cooker and microwave was dirty the toilet seat had urine stains on the underside we cleaned it but on Saturday night my wife went to bed she put her hand bag on the floor and thought it felt funny she got a torch to find hard dry dog faeces along side an under the bed total horror we booked this as a none pet caravan. There was a form in the caravan saying who had cleaned it and who had inspected it we think they should both go to Specsavers and get a good reprimanded I personally if I employed people like that I would sack them not a good advert for the company a lot of people would not go back. It was very unfortunate never had a major complaint in the many years we have holidayed 8 or 9 times a year we look forward to next year we will give them another chance before we look elsewhere.
We booked a break at Parkdean resorts Southview In Skegness 25/09/2020. We did this after looking on their website & booked it through them, on the web site they state that extra deep cleaning is taking place due to Covid 19, also they had contactless check in. So because of these statements we decided to book a 3 night stay for a party of 4 adult, due to 2 of our party being Disabled & classed as extremely venerable We needed to be sure of the cleanliness of the accommodation, we also went for a higher grade of caravan also to try to get the best accommodation.
We paid £349 for a 3 night stay.
We got an e-mail telling us where our accommodation was in an area called vintage. On arrival we went to the caravan there should have been a green or red sign (green go in or red don’t enter) in the window but there wasn’t, so I phoned reception for 30 minutes no one answered the phone just rings. We decided to go in, firstly we had to move chairs that had been placed upside down on the path leading to the steps of the decking (the only way to enter & Exit the caravan).
OMG I can see why the chairs had been put there as the slabs where unsafe rocking badly from side to side & backwards & forward, as they rock you are thrown forward & muddy water gushes up your legs.
Going into the Caravan we had 2 sets of keys on the table & a welcome pack which contained our entertainment passes we had been given 2 adult & 3 child passes??........We are a party of 4adults.
When we entered the caravan I had put my handbag on the floor in the kitchen area & as I went to pick it to get my phone out it was covered in grease, there was grease dripping out of the oven, on further inspection the microwave had a food spillage inside it, the fridge had spills, marks & the worst bad smell I’ve ever smelt, someone else’s left over food in the freezer, cups, plates & cutlery filthy, stains all over the kitchen floor, clumps of human hair all over the floor & seating, ever window was smeared, dust on all of the surfaces, tv etc. Carbon monoxide alarms broken just wires hanging out of the ceiling, loo roll holder on the floor & the worst thing was used snotty tissues & bottles on the decking..
No way had this accommodation been cleaned let alone deep clean it was absolutely minging......
As part of the check in you have to text your name & accommodation to a mobile number to let them know you’ve arrived I did this with an extensive list of issues. After an hour of them getting the text which my phone let me know they read within 5 mins of it being sent we still hadn’t heard anything so I went up to reception.
I waited in the queue, when I got seen what a rude rude lady, first I got told off for going into reception, I told her I’d already phoned & text but no one gets back to you, I told her about the issues & as good as got told I was a liar....so I showed the pictures I had taken. She promised the cleaners & maintenance would be out right away.
Around 2 hours later 2 cleaners arrived & fair play they did a good job of cleaning, but this should have been done before we arrived. The maintenance never turned up. So that’s the first day of our holiday gone. Also Within 12 hours of arriving 2 of our party decided due to being disabled & being in able to get in & out Of the accommodation safety they had no option but to leave...
The next morning we got a courtesy call to see how our holiday was going & was everything ok with the accommodation. I explained what had gone on & part of our party had gone as the couldn’t get in & out, that the maintenance people still hadn’t been, she assured me that as a matter of urgency they will be out so we waited all day but nothing so that’s day 2 wasted.
When we left there was still no carbon monoxide alarms, no path repairs & no loo roll holder put back up.
On getting home I complained to Parkdean head office & asked that someone ring me as a matter of urgency to discuss the issues & why they did not get resolve.
Nobody Rang, instead I got an e-mail sorry to hear of your issues & having to go out of your way to report it & having to wait for a resolve. It never got resolved & half of our party could not stay as they couldn’t get in & out of the accommodation. Then they carried on to say they’ve put £52 back on my card......what insult.
Avoid this Company at all costs. Wrote a review of our holiday to Cayton Bay with a list of 15 complaints, including injury to my wife's arm. See reply from EOIN below saying he will look into it. That was 2 months ago and I am still waiting. Two weeks ago wrote to Park Resorts CEO to try to sort matters out. Guess what? No reply from the CEO of the Company. Dirty caravan that hadn't been cleaned. Biscuit wrappers from previous occupants in the cupboard. Broken Bed. No lock on the windows in bedroom two. No shelves in the fridge - replacements supplied which were wrong size. Eggs/yoghurts/milk all spilled on the floor injuring my wife. No lights in bedroom one. Missing blinds in the kitchen. Broken cupboard door in the kitchen. Park Dean are just not interested - once they grab your money that is where their involvement in Customer Service ends!!
