Avoid Palm Harbor at all costs
Avoid Palm Harbor at all costs. If you’re considering buying from Palm Harbor, don’t walk, RUN in the other direction.
What was promised as a quick, easy path to homeownership turned into a 9-month nightmare. From July 2024 to April 2025, my fiancé and I endured delay after delay, miscommunication, and gross incompetence.
We were pushed through four different loan officers, misquoted $10,000 on our well, and forced to make nearly 500 miles’ worth of trips just to handle paperwork that should’ve been streamlined. Their utility “expert” placed our septic in the worst spot on 11 acres of land — right behind our bedroom window and over tree roots that now require removal.
Our home delivery was delayed repeatedly due to permit oversights. When it finally arrived, the trim-out crew was late, careless, and the workmanship was abysmal: mismatched caulking, chipped cabinets, damaged floors, a missing custom door, and two defective freezers, one of which they left with a handwritten “sorry” note.
Every step of the process was riddled with errors, delays, and indifference. We spent $271,000 and got treated like an afterthought. Their definition of “factory standard” is laughable, if you want quality or accountability, look elsewhere.
I regret ever setting foot on their lot. Please learn from our mistake.
