BEWARE OF HUGE ADDITIONAL CUSTOMS CHARGES (>37% OF RACKET PRICE)
Similar to another customer, I purchased a padel racket in December 2025. I paid extra to have it express delivered to the UK in time for Christmas.
The product arrived on time and as described.
However, about 6 weeks later I received an invoice from DHL for an additional £61.98 for customs and handling charges. This made the total cost of the racket much more expensive than competitor rackets.
I purchased the racket using PayPal and I am pretty sure I was not warned of these extra charges before committing to the payment. Yes, hidden deep in their T&Cs is a vague reference to the customer being responsible for any additional customs charges, but even if customers had read these surely no one could expect to pay an addiitonal >37% in customs duties!
Given the invoice for the customs charges arrived 6 weeks after delivery of the racket, I was never given the option to decline receiving the delivery (there was no mention of additional charges at the time of delivery). When I challenged DHL about whether I should have to pay this, they have threatened me with a CCJ and set a debt collector onto me!
The Padel Nuestro site is totally opaque about the fact you will have to pay these huge additional charges if you are based in the UK, so my advice is to avoid using this site altogether.

I purchased a NOX 18K Alum 2025 padel racket from Padel Nuestro at what I thought was a reasonable price (listed at £155.75 on the website + delivery of £6.88). The item was delivered and I thought nothing more of it.
I later received a duty & tax invoice from FedEx to the amount of £48.04!!!
I phoned Padel Nuestro customer services to say that I was extremely disappointed not to have been told or given any idea how much duty would have been charged, and had I have known, I would not have placed the order in the first place.
The agent told me that I would normally receive the invoice prior to, or on, delivery so that I can make up my mind to accept the package or return it back to the vendor.
Obviously this protocol was not followed and when I asked if Padel Nuestro could help, their answer was ‘NO’ as the item had already been delivered and that my only options were to pay the invoice or open a dispute with HMRC!!
All I wanted to do was buy a Padel racket, not get tied up in customs and duties enquiries and correspondence!!!
I wont be buying from Padel Nuestro again as there are other European vendors like Tradeinn (and others) that don’t trap you with extra fees of an unknown amount on delivery. What you pay on other websites is what you pay for the item listed!
You have been warned!!

We would like to clarify a few important points:
Since the United Kingdom is no longer part of the European Union, international shipments may be subject to customs duties and import taxes, as established by UK local authorities, not by Padel Nuestro.
This information is displayed on our website before completing any order, and is also included in our Terms and Conditions, which you accepted during checkout.
These charges are not determined, controlled, or received by Padel Nuestro. They are calculated and applied by HM Revenue & Customs at the time the parcel enters the UK.
For this reason, we are legally unable to assume, modify, or reimburse these fees.
FedEx may send the duty invoice before or after delivery, depending on their internal process. Unfortunately, this is something outside the seller’s control.
The fact that you received the invoice after delivery does not invalidate the import charges established by UK customs.
HMRC makes their duty and VAT calculation criteria available to all UK residents, and each courier applies customs clearance based on these rules.
We always recommend that UK customers review potential customs fees before purchasing from any EU shop.
We truly regret that this situation caused frustration, and we understand how unpleasant unexpected customs costs can be.
However, the charges you received were not created by us, and you were informed during checkout that additional import fees might apply for UK deliveries.
