Packtpub publishes books with deep technical insite
Packtpub publishes books on new technology and programing languages that other tech publishing companies. I prefer books that provide a deep dive into a technology / programming. I learn the basics and then move to a deeper understanding of the topic. The books published by Packtpub allows me to do this. Often I find that Packtpub publishes books on subjects that I don't find from other publishers. Then I usually try to find books that concentrate on how to apply this knowledge by hands on projects.

Great tool for learning new Technology
The authors are top notch. Lots of examples, most of them have GitHub repositories and a great community. I will pay the subscription yearly for as long as they are in business. Thank you.
Wonky session management on library
I appreciate the broad availability of content but the session management of the portal is a bit wonky. It says you need to sign in after 24hrs or so, yet when you go to the library it doesn't see you as logged in. I am not sure what is going on there. The work around is to force logout and log back in.
Deteriorating Search Experience
Search functionality is not intuitive (it used to be better earlier).

Packt - A programming reference source for a retired developer
I am a 75-year-old retired developer. I have written in C, C++, C# and QT. I was a desktop developer tasked with the development of APIs for the GIS and 3D modelling environments. Did minimal development of GUIs and have never written a mobile application.
I still write ( plagiarize and enhance ) C# programs in the Astro Photography world and do some hobby development of multi-threading and recursive algorithms for selecting number patterns.
In this ever-changing software development world,
I use Packt (1) as a reference source and knowledge base for my programming activities and (2) as a reference for reading about the emerging technologies I only wish a service like Packt had been available during my working life.
Great Service and Reasonable Price
The content available is excellent and has a lot of newly-published material. The price is good if you have time to get through a lot of material each month. I still wish Packt would introduce a limited/lower tier for those like me that can only get through a book or less each month. Otherwise, I highly recommend!
Great Book with Great Subscription

liked the "audio" feature.
just missing the possibility to mark and create personal notes in online reading.
good but could do better
1. Good content (ebook/pbook/code-download), although processing errata/feedback sometimes patchy.
2. Most titles have code-download repos on GH PacktPublishing
3. Packt reviews based on feefo.com, but seem to be too few for statistic significance [maybe now using trustpilot?], whereas Amazon (who sell their pbooks) reviews give better judgement.
4. packtpub.knoji.com records Packt overall score at 3.8 out of 5 (sounds low)
5. the daily free-learning titles are at least 5 years old so often seriously outdated
6. [accidentally] browsing to old release does not always alert reader to existence of later version
7. suggest that Packt should make all superceded titles open-published (i.e. free to view/download)
8. [unlike Pluralsight/etc] Packt has no offline app

Your online interface has numerous problems and you have one that has been reported but never fixed. Several authors generate lots of books or videos that is not original content. The quality of those makes it difficult to pick out good titles.

A good place to learn about many IT topics.
It has always interesting and high-quality content (not all of it, there are some rare exceptions). It has a mix of reading and viewing experience, so anyone with learning needs will have an option. The only thing I think they could improve is to have a better mobile experience. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, but very basic.
The selection of books is extensive
The selection of books is extensive, covering everything from programming languages to cybersecurity and data science. The website is easy to use and I found exactly what I was looking for. The online reading experience is also impressive, with the playlist feature allowing related titles to be organised efficiently. The code explainer feature is also very useful for developing coding skills.
Relevant new titles every week.

This is an amazing product, with great value for money.
However, the app is not available for the latest version of Android, and the rendering on a web browser from a phone is not optimal. It is a shame, since I do most of my readings while commuting/during breaks.
It would be great if their reader interface would allow you to highlight text.
