Took my 16 yr old active senior dog in after she had alot of blood in urine I explained she had fallen on her backside and could have injured herself or I was very concerned about her TEETH I asked them to do a full blood panel, urinalysis and culture to rule out obvious risks They gave her iv fluids and had her 10 hours .I was billed 850 dollars just for her labs and an ultrasound and only had 350 and was approved for $500 financial assistance by a local non profit and signed the authorization for labs and treatment .after 10 hours they brought my dog out TOTALLY DEJYDRATED to the point she was almost attacking a cup of water on the floor in waiting room and they said they would call me with ger lab results NO consultation no antibiotics no discussion instructions NOTHING .I took ger home and called daily for results and no one once returned my calls .after 10 plus days I finally took an Uber out to ask IN PERSON WHAT the labs showed and was not told that the non profit only paid 250 of the bill They never asked me for more money and left me believing my bill was paid in full .instead of asking me for the 250 they charged for a CBC ( they have ability to do them on site but to save me $ said they would send out to an external lab like Quest who for a human only charges 49 for a CBC PANEL ) I asked where the 1st test results went and was there for the RX the vet prescribed for my dog upon releasing her to me from their care. They never gave me her ANTIBIOTICS and sent us home .Meanwhile her teeth were bothering her and I kept asking for her labs to find out why she was peeing blood and they told me to come pick up the missing RX they failed to send me home with . They never told me I needed to pay more money ever NEVER gave her any antibiotics prescribed by vet upon releasing from hospital and never told me the non profit only paid 250 vs the anticipated 500 .When I arrived on the 11th day to get my dogs RX and talk to the vet said he had her Rx being readied and when a tech came in the room with her Rx the Dr literally yanked it out of my hand and said OH GOOD HER URINE TEST IS HERE and said NO UTI and he l literally grabbed the rx out of my hand and said she didn't need them I asked about her blood work because I was concerned about a possible teeth infection or abccess or cancer and he told me there were no blood tests in her chart .I said but I asked for a blood panel and was billed for it HE said no blood test and offered me another one but this time only 100 bucks not 250 . I said where's the 1st test .and that's when I learned about the non profit onky paying 250 not 500 so im sitting there BEWILDERED as to how this is considered acceptable in an emergency animal hospital HE git up closed the door and said quietly TAKE MY DOG TO A REGULAR VET vs this ER vet as He was trying to keep me from getting upset . So I told him to send all her records to the regular vet accross the street . And went home without her RX without knowing why my d9g was peeing blood or any idea what her blood tests showed specifically Looking for cancer or any tooth infections etc that would show infection in her blood .My dog seemed better and active and stopped having blood in her urine but still appeared to be not herself and while waiting for a new appt at the regular vets office and for the records to be reviewed from the 10 hours in this hospitals care . It was the holidays and on Xmas eve morning my poor dog had a serious sudden VESTIBULAR EVENT or STROKE and Stopped eating or drinking and lost her ability to stand or eat . I couldn't do anything as it was Christmas and everyone closed and the only emergency vet is THIS ONE I'm reviewing and after all the rude office staff and confusion I did not feel comfortable taking her back and didn't have their 185 mandatory office visit fee up front so I had no choice but to wait for the regular vets accross the street .By the time I could get her in that first day they were open IT was too late and I had no choice but to euthanize my poor dog OVER A TOOTH ABCESS THAT WENT SEPTIC AND CAUSED HER VESTIBULAR EVENT AND BLOODY URINE IN THE 1ST PLACE . Meanwhile I contacted the front office again and asked them what kind of racquet they run there and was told to check my email . I expected them to CALL ME not EMAIL ME the results of my d9gs 1 hours visit in their care or answer any of the calls I made to get her med's and labs I paid them for and wouldn't answer me at all telling me again to check my email . I said why AM I FIGHTING FOR THE VET TO TALK TO ME ABOUT WHAT THEY SAW WHEN THEY HAD MY DOG and instead of helping my poor dog they REFUNDED all but 50 of the 355 payment I made up front when I took my dog in for treatment and labs . including the 250 they said was returned to the non profit .
I know that had they not tossed my dogs blood work and given me the antibiotics prescribed day one that my dogs condition could have improved and prevented the stroke and DEATH
