ROMANIA, An amazing experience from beginning to end.
Every part of this trip had been well planned by Oyster, I only have positive things to say. Such a warm welcome on arrival by Oyster's representative, placed in well cared for accommodation with all modern amenities situated a few mins walk from the stunning historic centre of Brasov.
The weekend began with a complimentry trip to Bran Castle, spectacular as one would expect.
Now for the exciting bit, working as a Volunteer at the Bear Sanctury was truely a life experience, we were given a walking tour to start off the week (hilly so need to be reasonably fit). Seeing the rescued bears in their 'sanctury' was heartwarming and simply awesome, they are so well fed and cared for within a safe environment. Bears are not the only rescue animals here, there are deer, wolves and dogs too to name a few.
Workwise, I was given tasks to help with food prep, also with winter fast approaching I helped out with painting fences which I loved as could observe the animals at close proximity.
I would recommend this trip to anyone that loves animals and the Great Outdoors. Brasov is a beautiful city too for sightseeing on a Sunday (day off).
Go do it, you won't regret it.

Would highly recommend, everything is so well organised and they really look after you. I’m doing a programme in Australia and having an amazing time. They helped with the visa applications, finding jobs and getting myself set up here for a while.

We had such a great experience working with Oyster! Georgie is fantastic and everything from her initial connect to final communication through our planning and volunteer experience was perfect. She took the time to help us identify what project we may want to do (we did a family project with our children), shared pros and cons of all options, and helped us navigate through the uncertainty of travel post covid. We are so thankful to have had the chance to work with Georgie and I can't wait to do another project with Oyster soon.

I had an amazing experience volunteering at Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Romania! It was a dream come true to see the bears being given a second chance by a charity that clearly cares about their welfare!
My project manager (Razvan) was very helpful and attentive, all round a great guy!

I am heading out to South Africa for the volunteer sports coaching program! I have found the website very useful. The login portal shows all of the necessary documents, gives reminders for timely submissions, and had loads of very useful information about what to pack and what not to pack. I found the videos of what a day in the life on the program looks like to provide great firsthand information about the program. Overall it has been lovely working with the program and I can’t wait to do more!

Currently enroute to South Africa to spend a couple of weeks at the elephant reserve there. So far the team at OysterWorld have been 1st class with the level of service, communication and information provided to me. As such I know I'll be in good hands upon arrival too. Can't wait for the awesome adventure to start. So don't hesitate, contact them now and just do it!

We have yet to embark on our family volunteer adventure to Brasov, Romania, but so far the customer service we have received from Oyster Worldwide has been excellent. We have been in contact with the office on and off over the last 3 years, and everyone we have spoken to there has been helpful, providing advice and answers to our queries. There is nothing they haven't thought of, we know we will be in safe hands and looking forward to our experience in Romania.

I have just returned from my 3rd adventure with Oyster and once again it was amazing. You could be forgiven for thinking that age may be a barrier to doing some of the volunteering but it really isn't. The project hosts are really happy to have you there and extremely keen to support you to have the best experience within your means (but possibly outside your comfort zone!) I started these trips in my 50s and have just hit the next decade; some of the work can be intense but is in no way impossible so go with an open heart, have a go and you'll have an incredible experience!

We had a great time in Romania (Brasov was gorgeous) and are now planning a trip to Borneo. The staff at Oyster and the in-country support was fantastic and helped us to do our bit for for the bears.

My 11-yr old son and I volunteered at the Bear Sanctuary in Romania for his spring break, and it was honestly the best vacation we ever had! It was action packed (love those structured days), with all of our time outside in nature, amongst the bears (and dogs), and helping the sanctuary too. We both were excited, but both of us had our expectations blown away! Brasov is a perfect little place. It is idyllically placed in the Carpathian mountains, and it is filled with gorgeous old European architecture and squares. The food was outstanding, and the people were incredibly friendly. We spent 8am-4pm everyday working in the sanctuary, came back to Brasov, had some downtime (he played Minecraft and I napped for an hour or so), and then we went back out in Brasov for some exploring-- on the mountain, doing some geocaching, checking out the museums, and then had lovely, long dinners playing cards and enjoying ourselves. It was the perfect combination! We walked 7-9 miles daily between the sanctuary and our Brasov exploring, and felt amazing just being outside in nature. For the sanctuary, I would say that one week was the perfect length for my son. He loves to be active and hands on, which he got to be, but then as the days go on, it can be repetitive (aka- "boring"). As a single parent, this place and whole adventure stole my heart. It provided the perfect environment and perfect location for our little vacation. And everything you have read about Razvan, the local guide, is true. He was the MOST amazing part of the trip! He helped keep us happily busy (even if that meant finding the best ice cream in town and running in the mountain with the dog -- for my son -- or with me, for a morning run). He was super attentive to our needs, and made us feel right at home from the moment we landed in Bucharest!
It has been about a month since our return, and the afterglow has not lessened. We still talk about our trip, recently printed out pictures (our bear adoption certificate is already on the wall), and just this week, my son had to fill out a paper at school about something he is proud of, and he wrote "that he helped bears live safely." Amazing! Thank you Razvan and Oyster for giving us this incredible memory!

My recent experience with Oyster was amazing. Spending 5 months in Canada, securing a job and accommodation should have been a difficult task, but Oyster helped take the stress out of everything! Having monthly meet ups with all the Oyster participants during our trip was such a nice touch, as it helped those who don’t see each other that much to stay well connected!

I travelled to quebec for 5 months on a working holiday working in hospitality and skiing in my spare time. I loved every minute over there. Oyster were very helpful in the process of getting everything sorted with visas and finding a job and things like that. It was all a very smooth process and would recommend.

We, my 17 year old daughter and me just arrived in Bankok.
Because of covid, vaccination rules, the risk of going 5days in quarantäne, the preparation was more complicatet.
Georgie helped us a lot and answered our questions fast.
He organised the pick up from the airport, the PCR testing, the testing hotel, the transportation to the project. Tot now everything worked out well. 👍A big thank to Georgie.
We're looking forward to go to the Elefant project tomorrow.🐘😊🐘😊🐘😊🐘😊🐘😊🐘😊🐘😊🐘😊🐘

Oyster Worldwide will exceed your highest expectations! They offer a wide variety of volunteer and adventure travel opportunities. My 14 year old son and I chose a project in South Africa to work at a rehabilitation center for baby monkeys and baboons. This was way out of our comfort zone. We had never done anything remotely similar to this before. And it was a long way from home (we are Americans).
Oyster Worldwide held my hand every step of the way. The level of communication was extraordinary. Truly I couldn't have asked for anything more. I had my own point of contact (Georgie)- not a nameless customer service telephone number or email. And he answered all my questions and reassured me that everything would go smoothly. And it did!! The documentation on My Oyster page, specific to MY project based on THEIR personal knowledge, was invaluable. Even a VERY detailed packing list! Georgie seemed personally invested in the success of my trip. And he was genuinely thrilled to hear of my fantastic experience upon my return. I will definitely use Oyster Worldwide again. They are simply the perfect travel-planning companion!

Can’t rate Oyster Worldwide highly enough. I received support from the beginning to the end of my trip. All of my questions were answered and I felt prepared and safe on my travels. I would definitely recommend the Veterinary Internship in South Africa. The experience is fantastic! I had a wonderful time and have made memories to treasure. Many thanks!!

I joined the Veterinary Project in South Africa for 3 weeks. During my trip trough Africa I had a few volunteering experiences, but this one was by far the best! I had an amazing time at the Game Reserve, could learn, see and do a lot with the vet. Especially the close encounters to the African wildlife was just breathtaking. Also the life as a Volunteer was great. It was never too much work with a lot of freetime, the Rangers were always more than motivated to teach and explain you interesting and fascinating things about animals and nature, the food was lovely and you get to know so many amazing people from all over the world. Our activities over the day were mostly Game Drives, Game Counting, Conservation work like Treechopping/planting or within the Veterinary Project working together with the vet (what was of course the best part). If someone is really interested in wildlife and conservation but also wanna learn more specific things in the Veterinary area (like anatomy and physiology of animals, darting animals for the application of medicaments or taking blood samples and much more) than this project is perfect.
So grateful that Oyster gave me this opportunity.

I used Oyster to help book my Gap year travels in early 2022. They have been so helpful and easy to work with, especially in such a tough time when things are complicated. They always go the extra mile and made everything a lot smoother than I would have thought. Thank you!

I used Oyster to book in my gap year to go to Portugal and the team there are absolutely amazing. Unfortunately due to covid I had to shift my trips around and the team was great at sorting that out within a few days and a special mention to Georgie who has been great at communicating everything to me. I felt very comfortable going to a foreign country as the “My Oyster” page is full of useful information and I felt that the team was so helpful in answering any questions I had. I hugely recommend using this company!
