BEST TRAVEL SITE!!

We have been using ORBITZ for 20+ years.

Anytime I have checked options with other sites, I am always reminded of the EXCELLENT service Orbitz continually provides.
* When Orbitz gives you a price- It does not increase when you reach the check out.
It's a FIVE STAR site!!

Left Stranded in Denver

I have used Orbitz for over 10 years, and I am done. I booked a fully paid car for Denver International Airport and was denied because of a tiny booking code mismatch. Any competent company could have fixed this instantly, but Orbitz and Expedia did nothing to help.

I was left stranded at the airport and forced to scramble for a last-minute rental at a much higher cost. After years of loyalty it is clear that Orbitz and Expedia do not support their customers when problems arise. I will never use them again. Steer clear and book directly with hotels, airlines, or car companies.

Unresolved Refund

My partner and I booked flights together via Orbitz and were affected by the same disruption: due to severe snowfall in Sapporo, all ground transport was cancelled and it was impossible to reach the airport. We contacted Orbitz before departure asking for help and alternative options. After spending multiple hours with support, no real assistance was provided.

As advised, we both requested refunds.

Here’s the problem:

My partner received confirmation that his refund was processed

I received nothing — no confirmation, no timeline, no explanation.

Despite spending several additional days and hours talking to Orbitz agents, no one could provide clarity or resolution.

To make matters worse, because Orbitz provided no help during the disruption, I had to book a last-minute, significantly more expensive replacement flight out of Sapporo.

This experience showed:

- Poor crisis handling
- Inconsistent treatment of customers
- Support agents who repeat scripts but cannot resolve issues

I am still waiting for my refund and a clear explanation. Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend Orbitz to anyone who expects real support when things go wrong.

Refund for car denied, despite CLEARLY being THEIR ERROR

I am so disappointed in Orbitz and feel like they have STOLEN FROM US. I will not use them again and if you are planning anything beyond a basic flight, DO NOT USE THEM, unless you want to play a game of chance if you need to make changes to your itinerary and get refunded.

Our family has used them for years, and purchasing anywhere from 6 to this year, more than 20 flights, have come to depend on the ease and dependability of their service. With our most recent purchases, we have added in the car feature, and this is where the trust was lost. Despite Orbitz’s website clearly stating that we could cancel our car up to 6 hours before the reservation, they refused the refund when they reached out to the company, who then said the window for them is 48 hours. Had Orbitz not advertised the incorrect information (6 hours), we would have called sooner. After many hours on the phone and online with service people, who were very polite, they still refused to make things right, and will not acknowledge what is clearly their error.

I am so sad to see this breakup, as I really loved them for years. But, I cannot stay with a company who had clearly TAKEN over $100 from us, because of their mistake, not mine.

No more Orbitz for me. . .

Generally I've had good luck with Orbitz, but when I tried to change a hotel reservation, I hit a brick wall. I didn't want to cancel, just change the dates. The hotel can't do it because it was booked through a 3rd party, and you can't change the dates through Orbitz because they don't have that ability or you get an error.
It's not worth the $2 a day you will save, book directly with the hotel.

Bait and switch now resolved

I reserved a midsize SUV car rental and was only offered a tiny VW Polo. I had to pay directly for an upgrade to the larger car that we needed. I contacted Orbitz several times by phone, text over their app and email and finally after persisting for 6 weeks my refund was finally processed.
I have used Orbitz for rental cars many times in the past without issue and they consistently offered me the best value. Their customer service staff are polite and professional but on this occassion I needed to escalate to senior staff before I could be compensated for their system’s error

SCAM! NextCar rental will charge you more than their quoted price.

Do not use NextCar car rental when you book a package. They show low prices but they charged be an extra$60 (SCAM) for using my own insurance. I had never had that happen with any other car company. Orbitz should drop NextCar or properly show the real cost of the rental. This was completely misleading.

Orbitz was great! There was a flight cancelation and their customer support was amazing.

Don't use NextCar!

One of the most misleading booking experiences I’ve ever had.

This agency blatantly misrepresented the resort with photos that bordered on false advertising. The images showed a modern, spotless, luxury property—what we arrived at was tired, poorly maintained, and nothing like what was advertised. Key amenities highlighted in the listing were either completely absent or in terrible condition.

When I contacted the agency, their response was dismissive and unhelpful, as if misleading customers was just part of their business model. No accountability and certainly no effort to make things right.

Travel is expensive and time is valuable. Booking through an agency that can’t be trusted to provide accurate information completely ruins the experience. I would strongly advise others to avoid this agency unless you enjoy unpleasant surprises and wasted money.

Lesson learned: never again.

Do not book with Orbitz

Do not book with Orbitz. The platform was unable to communicate with the hotel they had booked for me. They had a wrong number for the hotel, which I flagged to them and gave them the correct one. The hotel was great and told me they could refund one night that I missed, but Orbitz refused to refund it because they allegedly could not communicate with this hotel that I spoke with repeatedly. Use Expedia or a similar service. Orbitz cannot serve as a booking intermediary if it can't communicate with the hotels it books - or even worse, if it doesn't want to.

Bad Rental Car Company

We've used Orbitz several times in the past. Tonight we booked flights to Fort Lauderdale and a car rental. When we got the confirmation, we saw that the car rental was through a company (Zezgo) we had never heard of. When I looked them up online they had numerous complaints about hidden fees and overall poor service. I just spent an hour changing the rental to Alamo for the same sized car for an additional $400. Not sure what country my call was transferred to, but English was not her first language. One time I was put on hold for 20+ minutes only to be told they could not help me and that I'd need to do it online. Orbitz may have good web site, but their customer service is severly lacking. You are better off booking directly and not going through Orbitz should you require any customer service other than an automated system.

AVOID, THEY GIVE FAKE AIRLINE TICKETS

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! They provided me with a fake ticket, and the airline refused to let me board. The tickets cost $530 and $788. The airline stated that they were supposed to receive $180 for the $530 ticket and $342 for the $788 ticket, but the service did not pay the airline. As a result, we had to pay for all the tickets separately. When we contacted Orbitz, they insisted that the ticket was valid, even though I showed them that it was not recognized on the airline's website. They refused to issue a refund, refused to pay the airline, and we ended up losing everything. This company casually provided us with two fake tickets. SO DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES; THEY ARE SCAMMERS!

hated Dollar rent a car

its great that we have these online travel agency (Orbitz, trip advisor, Travelocity) and im not an expert traveler. But what I will do is print out an intinuary of what was given/provided at the time of purchase.

ask for two beds, got one. dollar rent a car, stay clear away from these guys, they will try to up sale you on options, insurance, etc.. they don't care if they hold up the line as long as they get their commission selling extra services and protection.

we got to the Waikiki banyan hotel, the room looked nothing like the pictures we saw online.

you would assume that booking a package that the flight, hotel room, and rental car would correlate on the same date. got to dollar rent a car and they said my rental car was not ready till tomorrow, I had to pay for an extra day!!! obviously I need to drive out of the Honolulu airport!!!! oh my F***!!!

doing it different next time, going through Vrbo for my stay, and turo for my rental car. Orbitz and other travel agency can handle just the flights

Orbitz refused to help even when the hotel agreed to a date change

Title: Orbitz refused to help even when the hotel agreed to a date change

I accidentally booked the wrong night at the TownePlace Suites London ON — I chose October 19 instead of October 18. I realized it within five minutes, called Orbitz immediately, and their agent contacted the hotel while I was on the line. The Marriott front desk clerk confirmed she would be happy to move my stay to October 18 if Orbitz transferred the payment. Orbitz refused to do it.

To stay that night, I had to make a second Orbitz reservation for October 18, so I ended up paying for two nights and only staying one. Both the hotel and Orbitz were aware of this the same evening, yet Orbitz repeatedly hid behind “non-refundable policy” language instead of resolving a simple, honest mistake made within minutes.

I later called Orbitz again to explain everything in detail. The representative simply parroted the same corporate script, refused to escalate, and showed zero flexibility or accountability. It’s disappointing that a company that prides itself on customer service would rather quote policy than fix an obvious error — especially when the hotel itself was willing to help.

Orbitz clearly has no interest in long-term customer relationships. I’ll be booking directly with hotels from now on — at least they have the discretion to act like real people, not scripts.

I am deeply disappointed and frustrated…

I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the experience I’ve had with United Airlines and Orbitz. I originally booked a roundtrip flight from Tampa to Vail with a connection in Denver. My plans changed, and I needed to remain in Denver instead of continuing to Vail.

When I contacted customer service to make a simple adjustment, changing my return flight from Vail–Tampa to Denver–Tampa . I was told I would need to pay $450 in additional fees. That’s more than the cost of a brand-new ticket. It’s unreasonable and frankly shameful that a company of this size would take advantage of customers in such a way, especially for a flight segment that I had already paid for.

This policy and the complete lack of flexibility show a total disregard for customer loyalty and fairness. Instead of working with travelers to find a reasonable solution, United and Orbitz choose to profit from their customers’ misfortune and inconvenience.

After this experience, I will never book another flight with United Airlines or through Orbitz. It’s unacceptable that companies in today’s world continue to treat customers this way. I sincerely hope they reflect on how they handle situations like this, because what they’re doing is not only bad service, it’s bad business.

Nightmare! Don’t use!

I booked a flight and car rental for my trip to LA and didn’t look any closer at the booking as I have used these 3rd party travel companies with no issues before.

When it came to the day of travel, the flight had no issues, but when we landed, the car rental company, “Mex”, I had never heard of before. There was no pickup point at the airport for a shuttle or in the airport, which is where I booked the reservation. No one had ever heard of it so I was able to find a location nearby-1/4 mile walk. With my family and suitcases in tow, we walked.
When we arrived at the location of a hotel, they said the rental company use to be run out of their lobby but moved. No one knew where.
After more research, I located the company a few miles away! I left my family at the hotel and walked. When I arrived, I found what looked like a used car lot with hardly any signage. I opened a door to an office with no markings and was greeted by a small lobby of customers all appearing annoyed and distressed. The people behind the counter were young and unprofessional. One had her legs kicked up and looking at her phone and the man that helped me was uninterested at best.

Before I could confirm my reservation, a man told me not to book there. I asked why and he said they tried to charge him a $1000 deposit and a physical fight almost broke out with a customer before him. He also said that he saw other customers being charged less deposits and that he was treated very rudely. I immediately told them I did not want my reservation any longer as I already had major doubts about this place’s legitimacy. They said I would have to reach out to Orbitz and I left.

When I contacted Orbitz by email and told them my experience, they never responded. I ended up Ubering to a rental company and paid 4x the cost because it was same day with no reservation.

Don’t ever use Orbitz if this is a company they deem reputable enough to use. You have been warned.

Prove I am a human

I have been traveling for approximately four months using Orbitz and its app. I had previously let my credit card company know that I was traveling so that they would know what I'm doing. I have face recognition on my totally updated iPhone 16. I use a VPN for safety. I have my apps all up to date, and Orbitz has decided that I am no longer human and has made me perpetually run through loopholes that I cannot clear, and it will not provide any other option besides this ridiculous thing where you've got to move these people in a movie theater sitting in the chairs. I have spent literally thousands on hotels and thousands on airplane flights while I'm trying to do things in Europe in a timely manner, and it has refused to let me go through, although it has previously recognized me as one of these super people because I'm spending so much money with them. So right now you cannot trust Orbitz and there is nothing I can do. I've tried to uninstall the app, but I would say go with anything else. Of course, Travelocity is part of Orbitz, so they're all part of the same web. I'm not sure what other options there are for you, but I just want to say that I do not trust Orbitz.
