Buying from Bassol from UK - flawless!
I was rather nervous about buying from an EU website after our rather unwise and short-sighted departure from it. There have been stories of problems with customs and delays making such transactions anything but seamless and hassle free.
But my worries were completely unfounded. Not only were Bassol’s prices very good, but my package arrived extremely quickly a day or two after ordering, and with no issues whatsoever. For anyone in the UK who is approaching ordering from Bassol with a degree of trepidation, in my experience the transaction couldn’t have gone more smoothly, so put any such worries out of your mind. They’re excellent !

I never received my glasses
I never received my glasses. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the shipping company, UPS. According to the tracking, my package was marked as delivered, but I never received it.
I’ve been trying to contact UPS for the past five days. Their communication has been very poor, and I still don’t have any answers. I did manage to speak to one representative who said they couldn’t immediately find the shipment in their system and would investigate, but I haven’t heard anything since.
I’m extremely disappointed with the overall experience. I was really looking forward to receiving my glasses, but instead I’m left without my order and without a solution.

Inconsistent service and fees
Inconsistent shipping times for different glasses, and was charged an extra 49CHF from UPS upon arrival for one of the glasses and not the other. One pair took 2 weeks to ship and I was not notified about the reasons for delay.

UPS Charges (Customs/Duties): Because we ship from Spain (EU), orders sent to Switzerland are subject to local Swiss VAT and customs clearance fees upon arrival. These charges are collected by the courier (UPS) on behalf of the Swiss government. The difference in charges between your packages usually depends on the declared value of each specific item or how they were processed at the border.
