Products don't work and aren't fit for purpose plus they ignore you when you need their help
The filter I bought from them nearly a year ago hasn't worked properly since day one. They've ignored all my attempts to contact them to rectify the problem. I have had to completely dismantle the filter and rebuild it several times a week to stop it drawing in loads of air.
Don’t waste your money.
Absolutely appalling experience. My partner (Damien Roberts) and I purchased a 30L biOrb tank in February 2025 with a supposed two-year warranty, only for it to start leaking without warning.
We were then expected to go through the hassle of returning a large, fragile item, which was far from straightforward. After that, Oase dragged out the process with not one but two “assessments”, clearly just delaying things, only to ultimately refuse a replacement.
Not only was our claim rejected, but there was zero apology, zero accountability, and not even the slightest offer of compensation. During this drawn-out process, all of our fish died—something that could have been avoided with basic customer care and urgency.
This company hides behind its warranty rather than honouring it. The service is unprofessional, dismissive, and frankly unacceptable. We would strongly advise anyone to avoid and spend their money elsewhere.
(Biorb) Overpriced, Poor Choice, Terrible After-Sales
This review pertains to Biorb, which is under the OASE brand but doesn't have its own Trustpilot page from what I can see. My family decided to buy a Biorb aquarium around Christmas for a small fish. The aquarium itself was very cheaply-made (as in, plastic with a very visible seam the entire length of the aquarium) for the price we paid. The choice on their website for ornaments made to fit the centre of the aquarium was incredibly limited, and when we found one we thought would fit based on the measurements on the website, it still looked too small once in the aquarium. Trying (and paying) to return the order to them resulted in them withholding our money, despite their website terms and conditions allowing the handling of products as necessary to determine their functionality before a return.
Bearing in mind that most of their aquariums are wholly unsuitable for most fish anyway, Biorb is a hard pass on anyone looking for a small tank for their fish.

Starting to think Oase not all it’s cracked up to be.got 2 pond pumps which after 3 years are a bit like trigs brush.various parts have needed replacing at a big cost.the mesh filters aren’t strong enough they cave in under the pump suction,I have spent over a grand on pond treatments optipond and phosless but none have been any good ,definitely going to look at other manufacturers next time
Poor After-Sales Support – Oase No Longer Worth the Investment
Since I was a kid, there’s always been a pond at home, always equipped with Oase products. I now have a pond of my own and have also been a loyal Oase customer for many years. When their products work, it's ok, but it’s becoming obvious that the quality has sharply declined, and the after-sales support is now virtually non-existent.
My father’s Oase pump lasted more than two decades. Mine? I’m now on my third Aquamax Eco Premium 16000 (or equivalent) in under 10 years.
The first one failed after a few years. I was on holiday, and the original Belgian retailer I bought it from had gone bankrupt. It was out of warranty, and no one was willing to even look at it to try to repair it.
Since I was away and needed to keep the pond running, my brother urgently ordered a replacement via Amazon. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a huge mistake. We realise now, It wasn’t sold by Amazon directly, but by a German Oase reseller via Amazon.
That second pump has now failed after less than 3 years—still well within the warranty period (3+2 years = 5 years total).
Since last week, I’ve spent days trying to get support from the German Oase reseller it was purchased from on Amazon, from local resellers here in Belgium to try to get it fixed or claim the warranty, from Oase France that I called (there’s no Oase phone number to call in Belgium), and directly from Oase Germany. No one took responsibility. Just constant ping-pong between parties, with everyone passing the buck.
Eventually, I was told by a very unhelpful customer service / after-sales person at Oase germany that I could send the pump to them in Germany at my own expense, with no explanation of what would happen next, no assurance of a replacement or repair, and no confirmation of warranty coverage.
In the middle of summer, with the heat and the stability of my pond at risk, I had no choice but to buy a third unit, again, the same model, out of desperation.
Customer service has been shockingly poor, unhelpful, and dismissive. Oase simply doesn’t seem to care anymore. They just push the responsibility onto the reseller, who in turn pushes it back onto Oase.
On my end, I simply bought an Oase product that is still under warranty, and all I want is a working product that I paid for and that should still be functioning.
It’s incredibly disappointing to see a once-trusted brand to offer nowadays such low reliable products and service.
For a premium-priced product, this is unacceptable. The reliability is nowadays no better than cheaper alternatives, and you’re left with no support at all when things go wrong.
After replacing three pumps in under 10 years, and experiencing also a Bitron unit failure just after the warranty ended last year, I’ve had enough. No more Oase for me in the future.
I’ll be switching to other brands from now on, and I strongly recommend others do the same. At least with cheaper alternatives, you know it might be less reliable but at least you know what to expect. With Oase, you pay almost 3X much more and still end up with a failing product and no support whatsoever, so it’s just a waste of your money and energy dealing with unhelpful people.
Environmental Vandals
Demonstrated a real lack of concern for the environment. Needed a replacement control unit but told had to buy the entire system again as they refuse to supply this unit as a spare part. Apart from the financial rip off how can an ethical company be happy sending so much to landfill every time a component fails.
Customer Service non existent
I bought a Digital Thermometer SKU 43957, it has fallen off the tank so I asked for more self adhesive pads.
Sent emails and left messages on Facebook.
Been waiting weeks for a reply, nothing to date.
I registered my pump to take advantage…
I registered my pump to take advantage of the 5 yr guarantee. Few months back the pump stopped working. Checked dates and I had another few months left. Rang Oase Uk and explained situation. They said if it was a faulty impeller that was fair ware and tare. Bought a replacement impeller and still no joy. Oase said to send pump back for them to test. A day later they confirmed faulty pump and promptly sent me the latest model in that range. I asked for the impeller to be send and I received that today. Always buy quality.
OASE guarantee worthless
After many years of satisfactory use (more than 12 years) from an OASE pond pump I bought a new Aquamax Eco Classic 5500 and it has failed in less than 3 years. On contacting Oase they pointed out that the 3/5 year guarantee does not cover the rotating parts - The only parts that are likely to fail if quality is poor !! Basically they can manufacture pumps with the most rubbish rotating parts and then basically tell you to get lost if they do not last. Will never buy Oase again.
Poor quality of Oase Scaperline 90
I purchased the Oase Scaperline 90 set for €1000 and upon unpacking discovered scratches and dirt on the aquarium glass. Given Oase's marketing of these as "premium aquariums," the quality is significantly below expectations. This is unacceptable.
Great customer service from Oase
I recently bought a Oase Biomaster2 Thermo 600 and had an issue with a clip for the inlet pipe that unfortunately snapped on first use. The retailer Pond Planet I bought it from was a ‘read the fine print’ merchant and tried forcing me to buy a complete inlet pipe set instead of honouring the guarantee.
I spoke with Michael David at Oase and he was nice enough to replace the clip as a gesture of good will. Very impressed at the service from Oase and Michael’s response. A definite situation of a little gesture going a long way as I would buy from Oase again after the experience (although I’d avoid the retailer pond planet if I were you!)
Fish killer, Oase Filter
My Oase Bioplus filter is trapping and killing fish. Have lost 5 fish in last couple of weeks and rescued others from it. They get in the filter and can't escape. Contacted Oase and they are not interested in these deaths and tried to blame my fish, saying it's abnormal behaviour. Oase think fish swimming around and investigating their surroundings is abnormal!!! Oase are washing their hands of the problem and not interested in finding a permanent solution to this design fault. Oase suggested stuffing foam in the front of the filter but this isn't an easy fix and slows the flow of water. Its very upsetting to lose fish through no fault of mine. Oase have a typical corporate attitude. Deny, shift blame and ignore.
A pond cleaner that does not clean
a pond cleaner that does not clean. Bought an oase PondoVac 4 in order to try and clean my pond. Got a big and heavy machine with big engine and two chambers and filtering between.
However, the machine continuously activate some kind of overload valve and drop unfiltered water directly back into the pond.
This is a brand new machine and it’s just not OK
Biomaster filters can't be trusted
Bought an Oase 650 Thermo Biomaster filter just 8 months ago. It randomly started leaking. After careful investigation I discovered the the hosepipe connector had failed internally and the only fix is to buy a new part. Oase told me to contact the shop I purchased from which was online and after over one week they sent me a replacement part despite me asking for a full refund. The reason for me wanting a refund is when you start to look on the internet and ask on social media this issue has happened to a lot of owners so it is a known issue with these types of filters and a design fault. I can't trust this filter anymore so have wasted £300 of my hard earned money. I'm considering trying to use my credit card company to get my money back and return it.
100 FiltoSmart thermal…Dont buy it!
I bought a 100 FiltoSmart thermal external heater from Aquatix on Amazon. I already have an oase tank and internal filter but felt the filter wasn’t doing a good job and needs cleaning every week as the small sponge is becoming saturated very quickly so I thought I would get a bigger external filter and stuck with oase, big mistake!
This FiltoSmart 100 is extremely difficult to take apart and put back together and after a few months it broke! Aquatix kept saying this is impossible as they are so good but I sent pictures and oase sent me a new part. I wanted a refund but they would not give me one. I tried the new part but it still didn’t work, after many weeks even months of messages back and forth I sent the filter away for testing and they finally gave me a replacement.
I spent 3 hours trying to fit it, followed the terrible instructions and bearing in mind I already knew how to do it After 3 hours of trying to figure out why it wasn’t working taking it apart and then trying to get the lid back on with the ridiculously tight brackets I gave up. There’s £132 down the drain.
Complete waste of money, please don’t buy this there are many more much easier models on the market!
Oase ProductsDo not buy anything by Oase in…
Do not buy anything by Oase in Australia not sure other countries but I spent $5000 on canisters pumps water pumps UV light etc. Had a problem after five years with a few items. I have not been able to find parts. It’s basically buy once when it’s faulty throwaway what a waste of money thinking that you’re getting good quality product parts have been the issue, though once needs service no parts are available terrible. I have made several phone calls to dealers not been able to help. You are better off buying Chinese Products that way when they become faulty throwaway and buy a new one. You’re not wasting thousands of dollars.

Never bye any produkt from OASE
Never bye any produkt from OASE , The are not thrustworthy at all .They have a HIGH LINE PREMIUM LEDBAR , that are not waterproff as it should be .
First they will take the produkt back , because its not in produktion any more , they are having Big problems With this product. But suddenly the say that Guarantee need to be valid. I was told on a exhibition that no Guarantee was neeeded.
Stay clear of Oase
Stay clear of Oase, last year I bought a UV from a local company, they have now told me that OASE is refusing to supply certain businesses around the UK. I am now in a position where I cannot install it myself and this business cannot get a new bulb for me from OASE.
There is no one now for over 50 miles from my house that I can buy this from and get to install it which is going to cost me hundreds.
Absolute joke of a company and a complete stich up for customers who have bought the items and cannot by from certain locations in the UK now.
Dreadful experience
Dreadful experience.
I purchased a Highline 200 tank, upgraded the premium LED 80, controller and transformer (£600 UK) and as a first time enthusiast, I eventually managed to get a fantastic plant and community tank.
All my plants are dead or stick thin. The LED premium 80 LED’s are faulty.
The point of sale accept it but as of today - there are NO replacement units for at least three months.
No response from Oasè
Just unbelievable
I am a tech guy and I love German Engineering. So when I decided to buy an aquarium the choice to go with Oase was an easy one. We went all in on the Highline Room Divider with all the recommended accessories, Biomaster 600, Premium LED with controller. The assembly was easy and everything I expected from a top end german supplier. Then the fun began. First of all the controller can only control lights. There is no way to manually turn the lights on and off. OK, I think it is a rip off to force you to buy an expensive controller to control a single device for which there is no other alternative. To use the controller you need to get their app which has to be the worst on the planet. I always told my engineering teams to think about a user experience as a joke, because if you have to explain it then it isn't very good. The US in the Oase app is worst than a bad joke because there is no where to find the explanation. The only way to navigate it is by trial and error. Whoever let this product be released needs to be fired. Even the password reset process is an endless loop. I wish I could return the whole lot
