I took out a contract with O2 on 20th July 2026. At no point during sign-up did they disclose the future mid-contract price rise details, which is a direct breach of Ofcom’s upfront pricing rules. Now, they are trying to cheat me out of my legal rights. I am well within my 14-day statutory cooling-off period, but O2 is trying to claim that getting a PAC code alters or shortens my full 14 days of protection. By UK law, requesting or using a PAC code does not erase your statutory right to cancel a contract for free within the first two weeks. With this company's abysmal credibility, O2 seems to think the regulations simply don't apply to them. It is no wonder Ofcom just hit Virgin Media O2 with a record £28 million fine this month for deceptive cancellation practices. They are still actively trying to twist the rules to trap customers. Good riddance to this network early on into the contract. Avoid them at all costs.
The coverage with o2 is very limited, wont use this provider in the future.....

Had such a lovely experience. Wasima was really helpful with solving my issues quickly and would definitely recommend.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. The worst customer service I have ever received. Don’t know where the call centre is based but they seem to be all over the place with the right hand not knowing what the left is doing. They have not heard of the likes of Step Change debt charity, there are no notes kept on individual circumstances or information given and the complete lack of customer welfare is SHOCKING. They just seem to be on minimum wage and don’t have a clue what is going on at all. I’ve had one good experience with one English agent called Kelly but that is it. I cannot wait until my contract ends and I will be leaving them. It’s the most frustrating experience being passed from pillar to post, repeating security information and being given totally inaccurate phone numbers and emails. Avoid avoid avoid.

My wife was abroad for 7 years and didnt use her phone for the whole time , yet 02 took the £26 a month out every month. When she returned last month we stopped the account and raised a complaint for the money to returned. Was told we would get a call within 5 days - 3 weeks ago. Total scam, and the help desk is useless.

O2 network abroad no roaming charges? It actually did not connect me once despite several efforts. Can’t be charged for that, that is sure. But daily got texts saying “ call network provider” …. How if you can’t connect. Absolute rubbish service can’t wait to leave once contract is over.

At some stage in the past 3 months I’ve been a customer of all 4 major networks, and the customer service from O2 is by FAR the worst. Let me tell you why….
I owned 3 mobile contracts.
I moved my main number from O2 to EE (for reliable signal) all went well.
I moved another from a piggyback to O2, that didn’t fully come through. Was told I’m now on O2 and 4 days later I still can’t receive texts and calls. No one can help me and I have to wait for back office to fix it in time. I cancelled that contract solely due to the incompetence of O2 dealing with this transfer. (Issue number one let’s say)
Then there’s the bill for moving O2 to EE. I haven’t cancelled the direct debit, I just expected them to send a final bill and that’s that. No, they CANCELLED the Direct Debit themselves and give me a bill that I wasn’t privy to, then 17 days later (17 DAYS) send me an email telling me my DEBT has gone to a debt collector!!! 17 DAYS.
Aren’t debt collectors the last straw? You try, contact, exhaust avenues THEN get debt collectors in. No O2, they cancel the Direct Debit and get the debt collectors in all without any email or letters!!!!!
Not only does it have the WORST signal across the UK (in some MAJOR cities I can’t even get 1 bar ) but they haven’t worked out how to bill customers efficiently.
I called them earlier today telling them if my credit file is affected due to their errors I will take this further.

If I could give them 0 stars I would.
Years of complete incompetence from o2 and its customers service, now resulting in actual financial harm.
I am at my wits end with it and no longer want to be a customer.
I recently discovered O2 had placed an incorrect default on my credit file - I have not missed any payments on my account. I only found out when a finance application for a home renovation was rejected because of it
This has had a genuine knock-on effect: it’s delayed renovation work I need to complete on a tight deadline before the birth of my child, and caused a lot of unnecessary stress trying to untangle where the error came from and get it corrected.
I raised the issue and a formal complaint with O2, and they agreed to wipe the default from my credit file. However, it still hasn’t been corrected, and O2 has stopped responding to my follow-ups and I am still working to a tight renovation deadline. This might I add, is an error that was entirely their mistake continues to affect my finances and plans, with no resolution in sight. I have contacted the credit referrals email multiple times with no response, not even an auto- response to say emails have been received.
I don’t know what to do, I need to speak to someone, I’ve tried calling customer service, they again redirected me to the credit referrals email, I tried the web chat and again the same thing they were not able to help me and I have not been able to speak to someone about the matter.
I am so fed up with these businesses taking our money for shoddy service and poor customer service and then to be deeply effected by incompetence on their side and it having an effect in other aspects of my life is just deplorable.
Would recommend anyone with O2 accounts to check their credit file regularly, as errors like this can sit unnoticed until they cause real problems - and getting them fixed, even once acknowledged, isn’t guaranteed to be straightforward. Or just don’t use o2 and go with another service entirely which is what I will be doing.
EDIT: response back to O2, as I had mentioned I’ve already called customer service who were of no help at all.
It is futile putting a blanket response to all negative reviews if you’re not actually going to come back with useful ways of tackling the situation. It just makes O2 look even more incompetent. I need help for my specific issue that customer service have said they are unable to do, so how else can you help settle this issue?

THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST, I’m out in France my phone has been on 3G for the duration and I share contracts with my partner an he has 5G on his here. I’ve called customer service to help a reset all my net work settings an is still the same! When I get back to the UK I am cancelling my contract. THIS COMPANY IS TRASH!
