Wish I could give it zero stars

Wish I could give it zero stars. The NYT manufactures false one-sided stories to feed a sensationalist point of view. Even when they are given the information from multiple angles they cherry pick what facts to include and which to leave out.

daily mini crossword was incorrect…

daily mini crossword was incorrect stating that there was 5 fingers on a hand, when in fact there are 4 and a thumb. this lead me to believe the answer was 4 and be stumped the whole game. I highly suggest that the game maker take an entry level anatomy class and count how many fingers are on a hand during this. I personally do not believe that fingers and thumbs are the same. As a thumb I would be insulted to be compared or worse called a finger! please correct this error for your own sake as you wouldn't want to annoy a whole load of thumbs. 16 billion give or take a few.

I’ve been a long-time NY Times…

I’ve been a long-time NY Times subscriber and generally trust the brand, which is why this experience was disappointing.

I clicked on a sponsored product link that appeared alongside regular NY Times content. The ad looked polished and credible, and nothing about it raised immediate red flags. After spending some time on the site and seeing it promoted repeatedly, I decided to make a purchase.

Weeks went by with no shipping confirmation, no tracking, and only automated email replies when I tried to follow up. A quick search afterward showed numerous complaints from other customers describing the same pattern—orders taken, no delivery, and no real customer support.

What bothers me most isn’t just the bad purchase, but the fact that these ads were running on a platform that many readers associate with credibility and editorial standards. When ads are placed so close to trusted journalism, it’s reasonable to assume there’s at least some basic screening involved.

I understand that advertising and editorial are separate, but from a reader’s perspective, that distinction isn’t always clear. At minimum, there should be stronger safeguards to prevent obviously questionable advertisers from repeatedly appearing.

NY Times continues to accept advertising from fraudulent Companys

The NYT continues to expose its subscriber base to fraudulent company's. I tried to track an order from a tracking number provided by Solveraco (who advertised on the NYT) and my fraud protection on my phone alerted me to the fact this was not a trusted site. I have two missing orders and I'm afraid to track them. Many more advertisers are showing up in my digital newspaper which look the same but just different websites (example gonssalegany.com )

Truly pathetic

Truly pathetic. The New York times coverage of US bombing of Venezuela. You can't get more weak and pathetic than the coverage and headlines the New York times has published.

Scammed By the Times

I accepted a two dollar per month time-limited offer for their online subscription. The next day while I was doing some online bill payments, I saw an unfamiliar, and recurring, charge for $262.86 from the NY Times. I immediately contacted my bank's fraud department and then I reached out to the NY Times for customer support and after a lot of waiting and runaround, I was informed that they were not able to cancel or refund the unauthorized charge and referred me to Apple. The first link they provided took me to a 404 error "page not found" site.. so I called Apple and eventually figured out that the purchase was actually made through the Google Play store. The nice, helpful woman I spoke with at Apple stated that I was far from the first person she'd spoken to about this exact same situation and they were also referred to Apple to cancel the subscription.. it's a sad world when we can no longer trust even a formerly reputable organization such as the Times. They totally scammed me and it sounds like lots of other people as well, with ye olde bait and switch! So sickening and not only a time waster, but it also hurts on a spiritual level and confirms the sense that we can no longer trust anyone, even a company who built their reputation on being trustworthy.. not anymore. Boo NYT, shame on you!

Subscription trap

I paid for a one year subscription for Spelling Bee on a £12 a year offer. The ongoing fee turned out to be £12 a month. No communication was given for this increase -too complicated they say. A shabby trick for the unsuspecting. The only way to avoid this trap is to cancel your subscription altogether. This is a shameful way for the NYTimes to run its business.

Subscription service a disgrace

Subscription service a disgrace. Cheap initial one year offer then increased by 500% from £2 pcm to £12 pcm without notification. No refund offered. SpellingsB a great game but not on these terms. Avoid unless you want to be scammed.

Scam - avoid

Signed up to the NYT's The Athletic - they set you up on an initial low rate, hope you forget the subscription, then charge you £59.99 a year later and refuse to refund even within days of that renewal - really unethical from NYT - would not sign up for anything with this company, awful!

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL

I followed the ad in my iOS NYT app to buy the Games Subscription for 1 year. This was successful & I have full access in my browser.

However, I do not have full access in my iOS app profile. & I do not have my history/ progress in my browser profile.

Both my browser & my app are signed into my account linked to the same email

No one is helping me get full access to all games & my play history in my iOS app.

Go away AI Support

My games shut down. Trying to contact a real agent took all day. I finally got my game subscription back. The AI help was definitely awful and there was no way to reach an agent by phone. Please get rid of AI and use real people to assist with problems.

Terrible delivery service

Terrible delivery service. No delivery for three weeks on my subscription. Customer service cannot help, but say only that no updates are available. I should have checked Trustpilot BEFORE I subscribed. I can't believe how low the NYT's rating is. No wonder the newspaper is in trouble financially.

FOX NEWS FOR THE LEFT

There are some good articles but in general they are very biased. Journalism is supposed to be objective. Save the bias for the opinion section and report the news. I do keep an annual subscription but wish they could be more moderate in their articles.

Tabloid Trash

Tabloid Trash! The National Enquirer had more truth in their rag of a "Newspaper", now The New York Times is a twin RAG! The so-called apology about misquoting Charlie Kirk was the lowest I have seen from this Rag.

I'm so mad give me back my mini crossword NOW!

Genuinely WHYYYY on earth is there now a paywall to play the mini?? I understand that nyt has to make a profit and all but oml those rich people had the real crossword to play. However, I guess that whenever a broke person can enjoy something it gets stripped away from them. This money-hungry world never stops taking. I hope that whoever that group of individuals who took away the mini gets karma coming their way. If not then I might...
