Trying to exercise my rights under the CGA has been like pulling teeth with Noel Leeming. My 1.5-year-old PS5 suddenly stopped turning on, and despite the CGA, I had to push back several times aft... See more

Exceptional service
Not so much the company. I would rate them a three or four
However recent purchase of a couple of phones and some assistance with tablet and bluetooth connection arose. I feel that the assistance given by ARIANA above the usual 'call of duty'. While doing her best to assist she never lost site of opportunity to add to my tptal purchase without being pushy. Definate management material.
Went to Noel Leeming Westfields…
Went to Noel Leeming Westfields Riccarton with a cell phone which I damaged (purchased from them). Asked techy if data can be retrieved. She banged on about "getting it off the cloud & via the internet". I don't know how many times I tried to tell her There is no information on my phone that is on the clouds or saved via any internet. She kept saying yes there is. I went to a repair kiosk next door who accessed the internal SIM & hopes he can transfer that to a new phone I have to buy. That phone will not be from Noel Leeming. I have done business with them for years - but no more.
Dear teenage staff - us oldies (& others) aren't all like you. We don't do this modern cloud thing. Listen to the customer.
Noel Leeming via The Market
Noel Leeming via The Market (The Warehouse Group).
Ordered $600 work of Dish Freeview receivers. Rang once a week for the next 3 weeks to request follow up and a timeline of when my items would arrive. No one ever followed it up. Noel Leeming didn't respond ever to the Warehouse Customer Service team as to where they were. There was no tracking info provided. After about 20 days they still had no idea and I asked for a refund as they said they would deliver in 3-5 days and it had been about 20 at this stage. They refused a refund as they didnt know where the items were so couldn't refund them. Only then did customer service go to NZ Post themselves. Still waiting, no refund.
Will never shop at Noel Leeming again and woudlnt bother ordering via the Market either. Saw the CEO whining about how tough things were on the TV a few weeks ago... if my experience is anything to go by I'm not surprised they are having issues!!
Stay away from Noel Leeming Porirua
Stay away from Noel Leeming Porirua! This store blatantly flouts consumer law. They lied and attempted to deceive me and then ignored me when I insisted that they provide the remedy required under the law. What's more they still have my goods I returned yet will not respond to my emails, so it's pretty much theft at this point. I will also be reporting them to the commerce commission to ensure that this disgraceful behaviour is not allowed to continue.
Coffee machine replaced
We bought a coffee machine from Noel Leeming Mount Maunganui. It was discounted as it had been brought back faulty and repaired. After a few days, it again became faulty. When we returned it, they replaced the machine and were extremely helpful.
Fantastic service from two staff…
Fantastic service from two staff members at the Pukekohe store today when I was wanting to replace the protective face cover on my mobile phone. The first staff member listened carefully to what I wanted. Offered two options and explained the advantages of each. Selection made, he took time to advise the store policy on future replacement, asked if I wanted to have the cover put on the phone for a small charge, then asked another staff member, who had applied a number of covers, if he wanted to do mine. The second staff member happily took the job on, cleaning the screen and applying the cover with great care. Both staff provided me with fabulous customer service. Well done, gentlemen!
Damage to TV not addressed
I purchased a PANASONIC UHD TV from Noel Leemings Lyall Bay.
I was given the option to either have the TV delivered or pick it up. I informed the salesperson that I would pick it up and that I would have to bring a larger vehicle that afternoon to do so as I was driving a small car at that time.
I returned to the store in the early afternoon around 2pm and the salesperson and I carried the TV out to the car. It became evident that the car (A late model Toyota RAV4) was not big enough to accomodate the TV upright.
We discussed the situation and I agreed to have it delivered if it was not safe to transport it in the RAV.
The salesperson however then stated that alternatively the TV could safely be put in the car on an angle, leaning on one of the upright (split fold) rear seats - as long as it was not sitting flat on the floor and, if driven slowly and carefully be transported safely in that fashion. On the basis of this advice I agreed to assist him to load the TV into the car in the fashion exactly he had suggested. This was his suggestion/advice alone and was not solicited by me in any way.
Following his instructions I drove very slowly and carefully home, without the TV being subject to any significant jolting or bumps.
On arriving home my wife and I very carefully unloaded the TV - definitely without any undue shock - from the car and on opening the packaging it was revealed that the screen was broken. There was no visible damage to the box however.
I called the store immediately and reported that the screen was damaged. I believe the screen was damaged immediately on loading the TV into the car in an inappropriate fashion. I believe Noel Leeming's employee did not exercise due duty of care when loading the TV into the car and is liable for the damage. The consumer guarantees act states that a service must be provided with reasonable care. The salesperson did not provide reasonable care. The salesperson should never have recommended an unsafe way of transporting the TV. As a consumer I have a right to expect advice from a sales person to be correct and appropriate.
The salesperson and the branch manager then both asserted that the damage was my responsibility and liability. The manager would not listen to my commentary of the events that lead to the damage and attempted to obfuscate the issue with claims that I had been offered delivery of the TV so my uplifting it meant I was liable for the damage, completely ignoring the fact that the salesperson had been the one who had suggested the incorrect loading of the TV. A long and unproductive argument ensued at times during which the salesperson attempted to deny that he had ever made the suggestion which was an outright lie.
I have been a loyal customer of Noel leemings for many years and purchased many appliances and goods from your company. I have never however had such an appalling experience with individual sales people as this and as you can probably tell, I am extremely angry and frustrated with the dishonest, unhelpful and obfuscating attitude shown by these two employees and the sales team member whom this was first escalated to. This attitude does not recommend them, and it is plain bad business to treat your customers with such contempt.
I am still waiting for a reply from the Regional sales manager to my complaint.
Don't buy the extra sales "insurance".
Bought my Sony wireless headphones as an upgrade from the 50 dollar ones at the gas station as I kept loosing one sales rep sold me on a 3 year product warranty and after 2 and a half years of being perfect I dropped them while riding a motorbike turned around to pick up the pieces informed Noel leeming via email to the problems side of my headphones and I've read that I may be charged for some repairs and all this clause but they've said they won't help me out so I'm going into Manukau store tomorrow with the items to hear if they remedy but don't buy the insurance or doesn't really cover you with the item it's only for manufacturer problems that arise within the time periods which is gutting as I've gotten attached and would have accepted a half repair so the back piece is atleast covering the electrics otherwise ones crackles abit but still work other ear piece was in my ear so I have one perfect ear bud.
Service is so mixed
Service is so mixed. If you find a good person on the floor, stick with them. There will be at least one. Most of their floor staff dial it in, and their online system is byzantium. Also, do not expect the customer support people to take ownership of an issue or even attempt to resolve it.
Noel Leeming Lunn Avenue has worst…
Noel Leeming Lunn Avenue has worst customer care
Problem with product
Problem with product, sent to be repaired, came back nothing was wrong. Product still had the same problem, taken back second time, has been over 2 weeks haven't heard anything, have called many times sorry no response. I will never use noel leeming again. After sales service is appalling
Great Locations and easy to find
Great Locations and easy to find, good staff that are knowledgeable, prices can be higher but they will match other stores pricing
I had issues with an audio transmitter…
I had issues with an audio transmitter I purchased online. Noel Leeming customer service said that because I had opened the box they couldn't accept a return. Blatantly violating the consumer rights in NZ. Disappointing .
Calling out for Customer Service
My husband went into the Northlink, Christchurch store to purchase a Go Pro... with all staff within the store, not one person came to ask if he needed help. He walked out passed a guy at a desk who was engrossed in something on his phone. Customer Service was not present in this store.
Customer service was not good in Sylvia…
Customer service was not good in Sylvia Park. The tech guy slouched over the desk with his phone and takeaway coffee.
Was a real effort to help me out. This has happened before at Sylvia Park with the service, seems to be plenty of staff grouped together talking but no one asking if you need help. A couple of staff were busy I understand that no smiles from anyone. Very poor service. I’ll never shop there again.
In Dunedin shop served by P Wesley…
In Dunedin shop served by P Wesley great service I bought an Airfryer he took the time to demonstrate how it works carried it out to the car and put it in the boot for me I was thrilled with his service. Unfortunately I was overcome with intense pain on the way home to Lawrence stopped many times to be sick on side of road went to my Dr who diagnosed kidney stones so sadly the Airfryer is still in the boot of my car until I recover 😢😢😢
never shop lyall bay noel leeming
I you want service do not go to this shop. Very very rude, unhelpful and they will scam you into a product and then say its still being shipped. Karan is the worst! Do not go here!!!!
Waipapa branch Kerikeri never answer…
Waipapa branch Kerikeri never answer the phone and take days to reply to an email even from the Auckland service team after I had them follow up. Hopeless service. They have gone downhill big time.
In store (albany branch) bad experience
In store (albany branch) experience. the worst customer experience I think I've ever experienced. Great until they have taken your money. Then terrible!! I had to chase to see when my fridge was to be delivered. They then showed up with a broken fridge (wonky) - tried to claim it was MY HOUSE that was wonky!!! (Proved wrong when I got a new one from another company). The driver said they had other stock so would bring one of them. The store then called and said no stock so have to cancel the order. To get a refund they made me go back to the store!!! imagine being old or disabled and they insist you have to go back to the store, so inconvenient! In this day and age, people are putting things on Mars, and Noel Leeming cant even make an internet bank transfer!! ridiculous!!!
Quality not what it used to be
Bought a fisher and paykel fridge from NL 4 years ago.
This has died with a gas leak which is covered by a 5 year parts warranty with the manufacturer. Sadly, they want just under $500 to repair this fridge. NL were unwilling to help.
Won't be buying fisher and paykel anymore, have bought a Miele fridge which seems to be a far better quality.
