Poor potential experience.

Impossible to get a home insurance quote online for some reason, I was advised to call.
When I did call I was told they would do a quick basic quote with limited information to see if the price was ballpark.
I don’t make decisions based on price alone, I look for good reviews however the ball park price quoted was three times the most expensive online quote at £90 per month!
It felt like they didn’t want to take more detailed information about my home to get a more accurate price so I didn’t proceed.
Based on that experience I would not recommend NFU, if they are that disinterested in potential new customers, id be concerned if I ever needed to make a claim.

Pointless Insurance Company

Every time I try and claim a legitimate insurance claim NFU always have a reason in the small print not to pay out.
National Grid have turned of the power for the whole of the Chew Valley between 8.30-16.30 forcing me to close, losing a whole day's trading and having to pay staff to stay at home, NFU reply was because it was booked no pay out.

12 months ago there was no power because of a fire on a pylon, I put a claim in to be told NFU pay out after 6 hours for without power interruption NFU contacted the power company for a time and it was 5 hours 55 minutes with no power NFU declined my claim because of 5 minutes, Unbelievable.

Another claim, the restaurant had the carpet cleaned by a tradesman who shrunk the carpet then found out he had no insurance, I put a claim in for a new carpet a losajuster paid a visit and decided on a restrech and relay first and paid for this. 6 months later had it cleaned again and the carpet became worse and a health and safety issue I asked for a new carpet this time to be told by NFU your not insured for the carpet I questioned this to be told the losajuster did the last claim as a favour because I was a local business near to where he lived!!!!
I don't know this losajuster and he never visited the restaurant, how doggy does that sound from NFU.

I ended up putting down wood flooring costing the business £25000.

I am now struggling with What am I actually insured for? Probably nothing in NFU policy. I am now going to source a better commercial insurance company and then pass my findings on to the hospitality sector.

Do not waste your hard earned money with this company it all Take Take Take

My first claim

I had occasion to make my first claim on my car insurance. I was quite anxious about this but the agent was friendly, put me at ease, and guided me through the whole process. Communication was excellent throughout, and I was given online access to see how the repair was progressing. Dealing with NFU Mutual was like a breath of fresh air, being a case study example of how to treat customers. Thoroughly recommend.

NFU claim

For many years NFU Mutual have been my car insurers, I recently had to make a claim. The whole process was dealt with efficiently, speedily and all representatives were professional, considerate and respectful. Follow up calls kept me updated and I was offered additional services. My case was resolved effectively and efficiently.

The service was fantastic

The service was fantastic. A loan carin excellent condition, up to date information about the car repairs and car repaired, cleaned and delivered with no fuss. Friendly very helpful staff.
I can’t recommend this insurance firm enough.

...a total waste of time

I'm a driver with clean license, no claims history, in a safe age group, driving for 30+ years. I completed their online quotation for car insurance for a 1.5L petrol SEAT Leon. At the end of the online quote I was not given any info other than they'd be in touch. About 15 mins later I received an email stating I didn't meet their criteria. No reason why - just I didn't meet their criteria. Thinking there must be a mistake, I telephoned their helpline and was told they don't insure my postcode (London). Any half decent website application would have easily been able to tell me that during the online application. Thirty minutes of my life that I'll never get back.
