I have been using NFO for many years and I will say they have the best service in the business and top notch servers. The staff is very helpful and fast to respond to your needs.

Great support, great prices.

I had a Minecraft server for 2 years and a Garrys mod server for 3 years without any major problems that their support didn't answer to in a short amount of time. Many times I had issues with FTP and the such, and they were quick to answer and were very knowledgeable in what they were helping with. If they have a game you're looking for and their prices are more, I'd still whole-heartedly recommend them to you still. That extra price is worth the constant up time, support and ability to use a Chicago host, which is annoyingly rare. When I had my Gmod server I usually had a ping of around 5, and after switching home locations I had around 30. Best host out there.

New to hosting with these guys but so …

New to hosting with these guys but so far it has been positive. Their "VDS" (which seems like a regular VPS, but they say it is higher-performance) runs a bit faster than the other hosts I've tried. Network has been stable, probably because they use Internap.

I did my research before choosing them and there are a few things that I saw I had to watch out for:

- Everything uses a subscription, so if you want to stop your service, you have to remember to cancel it. They say they will give a refund if you see an automatic charge and let them know right away, though.
- If prices go down (like because of a sale), you have to notice it and update your own pricing. They make it pretty easy, but I'd rather have it automatic.
- They don’t let you pay through a VPN. I always use a VPN, so this was a bit annoying. After I signed up and paid, I turned mine back on.

All in all, I'd recommend them over other VPS hosts. Coming from AWS, it’s a lot cheaper, for more RAM and CPU, on a network that seems as good.

Incredible Dedicated Server Speed

Well the support and service from nuclearfallout is just amazing and incredible after some issues with our other hosting, Nuclearfallout was able to provide crimsonbattlefield with an amazing deploy time of 3-4 hours for the top dedicated server they had in the L.A area and let me tell you what when i restart my server the speed of it compare to the other server i had is incredible and unbelievable. I can already feel how smoother the servers from Nuclearfallout are,I should've just gone with a U.S.A gaming server hosting company, and Nuclearfallout will have my services forever thats for sure and thanks Nuclearfallout for that fast set up time and the gaming community at crimsonbattlefield appreciates as well.

Only good things to say

I've been using NFO for a few years now, and I have nothing but good things to say. Wonderfully fast response times for support tickets, fair prices and ToS, solid performance, solid security, wide range of OSes for auto-install on both VPS systems and dedicated units. I would 100% recommend NFO always to anyone and everyone.

I would steer clear of this company.

Was a loyal customer - they often refused to assist or acknowledge issues, much downtime, and when I finally gave up (hours into a new billing cycle) they refused to refund me for the remainder of the cycle, even though the services I paid for were unavailable.

Theft, plain and simple. I would steer clear.

UPDATE: after reading the two replies made by NFOservers, it's clear they are just doing damage control. I offered the company proof of my issue (forwarded emails within 12 hours of my bill being paid) and they posted these replies before I could hit 'send'! It's unsettling the amount of energy they would put into refuting a bad review and the shocking lack of interest they had/have in dealing with my concerns and ultimate cancellation. Their on this site speaks volumes when it comes to this.

Friendly people, great hardware, great speeds, but NFOservers has a LOT of work to do on customer service.

UPDATE #2: After reviewing the emails and tickets we opened with NFOServers, they are actually correct in some regards. The billing period happened June 4th at 00:00 (midnight), and I didn't actually have an issue until ~5 days later. As far as the 'smear' comments and the claim that I wouldn't 'smear' them in exchange for a refund of my teeny-tiny-itty-bitty fee, that is pretty wacky. I threatened to review them accurately. Which I have. Mostly.

Their "Terms of Service" mean more to them than customers, as we can see from this exchange. So, if they will do this over $30 dollars, imagine what they will do over $3,000 (or more!).

> Was a loyal customer - they often refused to assist or acknowledge issues, much downtime,

This is not true. We respond immediately to support requests and do not hesitate to troubleshoot with customers and to accept blame (and apologize) when we are at fault for something.

Downtime is highly uncommon with our services -- even with an alpha-quality, Early Access game like Rust -- so it's important that you open a support request and ask us about your specific concerns.

We also have a full SLA that covers customers for downtime. Do not hesitate to mention this in your support request!

> and when I finally gave up (hours into a new billing cycle) they refused to refund me for the remainder of the cycle, even though the services I paid for were unavailable.

We have a refund policy that unambiguously allows a full refund if the request is made within 24 hours of an automatic payment -- no reason is required, and there's no special approval process. We never turn down a request that meets these criteria. If you were only a few hours into a cycle, make sure to update your support request ASAP and have us review it again, because we must not have seen this.

Edit (later on 6/28):

The customer contacted us and linked this comment, so we were able to research it further.

It turns out that his service had problems because of a game update, and that it happened four days (not hours) into the paid month, which is why a refund was not immediately granted under our policy.

Rust is the Early Access game in question here. The game changes how it works frequently, and sometimes quite drastically, leaving everyone scrambling to keep up. Rust has historically released an update about once a month that requires a server wipe (which the game forces to happen). Wipes are also sometimes required for the more frequent weekly updates. The customer would not perform any troubleshooting or try a wipe to resolve his problems. In this customer's case, a later update appears to have resolved the problem he was having.

The customer also threatened us with a chargeback and online smears if we didn't grant a special policy exception in the form of a refund. We do not appreciate threats such as these and they do not increase the chance of a refund being granted. We feel that it is unfair to grant refunds in response to such behavior when other customers who act reasonably and follow our TOS do not receive them.

Edit again on 6/28 (after the customer's edits today):

> It's unsettling the amount of energy they would put into refuting a bad review and the shocking lack of interest they had/have in dealing with my concerns and ultimate cancellation...

We put energy into everything that we do and care deeply about making sure that customers are satisfied.

Your issue was with the game (Rust) itself and the fact that an update to the game broke your server to some extent. When you came to us with your complaint about the server being offline, the staff rapidly (within minutes) offered an explanation and technical assistance, and continued to quickly follow up with you with each response. Instead of choosing to troubleshoot further with us, including by trying a wipe of the server to its default configuration (which would have worked), you demanded a refund, and the conversation shifted to explaining our policy with refunds (repeatedly, as you continued to press us and escalate), with our staff re-explaining our desire to assist with your server throughout that conversation.

You didn't qualify for a refund. We are open to making exceptions to our refund policy, but in your case, it did not make sense, because your problem was simple and easily resolvable. It was also one that you were familiar with, having had a server for this in-development game for many months.

To say that we lacked interest in your concerns or cancellation is completely untrue.

> ... if they will do this over $30 dollars, imagine what they will do over $3,000 (or more!)

What we did was repeatedly extend offers of assistance and reiterate our policies, while communicating thoroughly and rapidly with you, the customer. We have also explained our reasoning on this third party review site -- reasonably defending ourselves publicly.

Caring about our customers and what they think is a good thing. Fairly applying our policies is a good thing.

Good & quality

I have used NFO servers before for a long period of time. And I must say they game servers and VDS are nothing buy quality hosting.

Their support are also good, they answer fast. But let's be honest, most of the time the support is kinda useless, not much to helping. But they do answer VERY fast and do try to help instead of giving up.

What I don't like tho, is that they rely on the owner John WAY to much. Sometimes it seem like the customer service have ZERO access to anything, since John has to do most of the stuff 70% of the time.

John is their CEO so he is quite busy, which means the answering is very slow. And when the customer support transfer your ticket to him all the time then you start getting tired.

Anyways, quality hosting, but support could be better. Pricing on the other hand is also expensive. But hey they provide good service.

We present a lot of tools through our control panel, and staff are empowered to help with all sorts of other things directly, so few issues need to be escalated to John (thankfully) -- generally only unique one-off problems that involve our back-end systems and payment problems. About 96% of support requests are handled without CEO involvement :).

When a request does need to be escalated to John, it can take a few hours to see a response, but this is still below the industry standard of a day or more for more typical concerns.

BEWARE NFO ARE SCAMMERS

Servers in the free trial here are exactly the same ones that continue after the free trial. Nothing changes about the service when the trial ends. We simply do not differentiate between free trial servers and other servers in our system, in any way.

It is extremely rare to see a problem on our end that would cause a server to go down for hours. If you see your server go down and you do not know why it went down (such as if there was no notification in your event log about a game update or DDoS), definitely contact us about it, and we can work with you to understand what happened. If the cause was on our end, downtime would qualify for an SLA credit.

Staff here do not have tools to cancel a subscription; cancellations must be done by the customer through the control panel. The only time that a subscription is ever forcefully cancelled and the server shut down without refund is when we receive a notification from our payment processor that a chargeback or claim was filed, and in those cases, the funds were already taken away from us (so the refund already happened).

Great hosting service

I am currently using this for my Garry's Mod server, and I have to say that NFO is amazing. Fantastic support that replies to tickets within 5 minutes (usually), ping is usually decently high, and the prices are very fair. It has it's flaws, but the support team makes sure that they are fixed.

Servers unusable

NFO "gives you a two day trial" in which everything will function as it should. Immediately after that trial, your service will rapidly decline until it is of zero use. Nobody can/will come play on your server because of the lag/latency among other issues. They will not issue you a full or prorated refund of any kind.

NFO Servers is a scam. DO NOT do business with them.

If you are having a problem with your service, it's important that you contact us about it so that we can troubleshoot it with you. If you have a client with high latency, there is a good chance that it is a routing problem, and we have tools to help resolve routing problems. But, we'll need to see the MTR output and run further tests to explore the concern in more depth.

Servers Oversold, Support Staff Useless

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DO NOT BUY SERVERS FROM NFOSERVER
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your players will hate you. Save yourself from embarrassment and find a different GHP.

Their Frankfurt servers are oversold, my game-server kept lagging most likely due to lack of CPU power and when questioned the support staff would keep asking for "evidence" and directed me to a download link for WinMRT to "check your network connection because the problem is probably on your end" despite having told them multiple times that it's not just on my end, other players I know would have had the same complaint and I've witnessed it multiple times - the lags. I so hoped the lag problem was on my end until other players would complain "Lag" on the chat, "w** is with the lag", "laggggggggg" - sure, it's on my end. I made tickets multiple times regarding this issue and it all ended up like this, just questions after questions leading to nowhere.

Their prices are twice as expensive as you would expect - twice as much as your average game-server hosting provider. They have DDOS protection which I admit is flawless which they could in turn use as a reason why they charge premium rate for their service but the truth is that so do other servers - they have DDOS protection but do not charge extra. Their game servers perform very badly (lags a lot) so what justifies the high price rate? Not DDOS protection, not performance - the total opposite of what they claim on the front-page of their website "The Highest Performance Guaranteed" - lies.

They have "high priority" option that you can pay for to boost your server performance apparently, but it did not help my case despite having subscribed to this feature of the service.

The server overselling issue can be fixed, but I doubt they can sort out the staff support issue. I wouldn't recommend going in business with them soon.

Stressful experience.

We are very careful to underload our machines, both in Frankfurt and all other locations. We perform continuous monitoring and losslessly load-balance customers as necessary between physical hardware every morning to ensure that overall CPU usage stays low (an industry exclusively), to make sure that all servers have plenty of headroom. We also expose overall CPU usage and memory usage to clients through the "Health" page in our control panel (in addition to the per-server CPU and memory usage graph) so that clients can directly tell if it might be a problem.

When a customer won't perform basic troubleshooting on their end, such as by running an MTR, that presents a serious road block for us when it comes to helping the customer to find the cause of a problem. An MTR will show if there's a routing issue with the client, an ISP, transit provider, or on our end, all at once -- allowing us to rule out routing as a possible culprit, if the MTR is clean.

Troubleshooting can be a frustrating and stressful process for us, too, since the cause is usually not with our system, and it can be difficult to find the real culprit, particularly if a customer will not work with us.

Our prices are actually standard for the industry, or a bit lower, in many cases. We do encourage customers to shop around and test multiple hosts to find the best combination of price/performance and customer support for them.

We do have a comprehensive SLA and performance guarantee, and we are serious about these. As far as we know, we are the only GSP to offer them.

Quality is Worth Paying For. A+

After having gone through what feels like a million different server rental companies in an attempt to host a high-performance dedicated game server, I finally found NFO through someone's suggestion on the Steam forums. At first, the price of renting a VDS with the hardware I needed seemed overbearing, but, since they offer a 2-day trial period, I decided to go ahead and give it a try.

After only a single day, I knew I had found the company I'd be sticking with. During my trial period I tested the full gamut of features offered by NFO, stress-tested the game server that I set up on the VDS, and even had a support ticket resolved when Windows Update screwed over a part of the hard disk, making it unbootable and leaving my server saves trapped on a disk I couldn't get to. Within 30 minutes of entering a support ticket, I had been attended to and told how to recover files from an unbootable machine, and had successfully pulled everything I needed and performed a fresh install. The server was back in no time (and Windows Update is being put on probation..).

A+ Hardware -- Trust me, you won't feel like you're running on a VDS -- if you use Windows RDC to login to your server's desktop, I can almost guarantee it'll feel faster than your own local machine.

A+ Support -- Ticket answered in under 5 minutes, entire issue resolved in under an hour.

A+ Price -- Yes, I now realize that it's more than worth the price. You get what you pay for. I'm happy to pay the price now that I know the quality of what I'm getting. The players on my now-much-faster-and-more-reliable server are quite happy with this move.

Thanks NFO, I won't be leaving anytime soon.

Incredible staff and good servers

I have never had a real problem with the Teamspeak server I host through NFO. The quality of the staff is beyond anything I've ever experienced from any other company. The CEO of the company responds to support tickets himself and turnaround time for support tickets can be minutes, at worst a few hours. And the people answering their tickets are VERY knowledgeable. It appears to me that they're not just outsourcing the customer support to some company that isn't involved with the product.

There are some server hosts that are a little bit cheaper but they are much, much worse. For the quality of service you absolutely cannot beat the price at NFO. I cannot recommend them enough.
