Worst website on the internet (besides twitter)

As Deviantart is filled with people who waste their talent on disgusting things, Newgrounds is pretty much the same but even worse. The website is filled with people trying so hard to be edgelords for no reason. Not just that, EVERYTHING ON THE PLATFORM IS OFFENSIVE. The ads are disturbing, and so is the art and games there. This website is literally the dark web, I'm not even joking. NSFW is highly praised and there is no moderation, kind of like Youtube actually. If you want to find a place to upload your art, do not use this website. Seriously, it's so horrific that it's actually scary.

Wish staff could listen earlier but I have to say this

While the artistic quality is better than the infamous DeviantArt algorithm, the 2FA login is aggravating for casual and active users alike. It cannot be turned off or removed.
While users can be blocked, tags cannot? There are certain things I’m not interested in or just dislike.

This site needs to modernize itself.

For the most part, the website seems okay, currently. However, like any website, I feel that human moderators whom are a appointed user of said webpage is problematic and outdated by current standards. The mods I've run into, and interacted with, seem reasonable enough, but based on how they describe the ethics of moderation this site, I see potential for power to be abused by bad actors who could be appointed to such a position. I feel that a website this size will continue to shrink, unless they implement better tools to keep things safe. I would suggest A.I. based moderation as the tech developes as a machine would be impartial and not dominated by emotions or confirmation bias. Of course, this applies just about any social media website ever.

Newgrounds is kinda toxic

I gotta be honest my time using the site was horrible.
I had received negative comments on the daily from random users over my art. A time someone sent me a message over my work and whining. Then the ratings system, its horrible. I received bad ratings even on work that I worked hard on that looked decent. I only had good ratings on my suggestive art that should tell you something. The community there
shows favoritism, act as if they are in a competition as well. I have stopped using the site to avoid the negativity I've received on newgrounds, I will not be returning.

It's not what it used to be, but good.

As someone who joined on 2020 and first entered on 2014, and used to play and see the games and movies on here by other sites, I can tell this website was in part ruined thanks to the FNF fankids and Twitter artists who migrated in masses. Despite of this, thanks to the other site of users and contributors, this site is still enjoyable, and we won't forget what it was before 2021, an important piece of web history.
4 honest stars.

1 star seriously deserved

I have a review about how bad discord support is, if you don't know what that is don't worry about it because you don't need to know it's just really bad. But this website is like worse somehow. They don't even tell you they deleted your account and they do it for the dumbest things possible. I know what youre thinking that im just a salty kid that got his account deleted so im now ranting about it but no, I only ever posted one comment on the site and that was it. I said no swears all i said was that the dude's thing was bad because the site gives you rating and you can rate things from 0-5 stars and i just gave 0 stars and said it was not good and i know this is why my account was deleted because it was the next day i had not used the site after i left my comment and yeah that was my first comment ever on the site so i mean not even a damn warning, it just got deleted right away and not even an email informing me that it got deleted. What a joke. If you wanna use this site then you better keep your mouth shut and not leave any negative comments.

Not so good

Newgrounds is okay at best. I joined NG in hopes of finding a DA alternative. All was not what I expected; it’s nearly impossible for new users to have their work seen unless the work is Friday Night Funkin fanart or their art fits the community’s standards.

The star rating system also leaves an open door for abuse and turns art into a competition for popularity instead of personal passion. Relatively speaking, while it’s certainly advisable to take critiques, people’s opinion on one’s work (I.e star ratings) does not ultimately merit their talent because art in itself is a subjective topic

There’s good art, games and movies I can watch for pastime but they aren’t enough to save the site in my opinion

Great Games And Community

I hasn't been easy for Newgorunds and others to adapt to the changing technologies of the web these past few years. Newgrounds is doing very well, and most importantly, have their heart in the right place. I will always support them. Oh, and you can play some great games there too!

Primitive, backwards rating system needs to be fixed

The rating system needs to be overhauled. There is a huge culture of “zero bombing” whereby users systematically and anonymously vote 0 on projects in order to drastically reduce the projects’ scores, perhaps partly to get their own projects higher up on ranking lists. Therefore, most projects go by unseen, with ratings that do not reflect merit, and users whose projects are zero bombed may be inclined to do the same to counteract, resulting in a vicious cycle. This is an issue not only for artists but also perusers, who due to this will not get to experience many high-quality projects. The issue is especially prevalent in the audio section, but is also a problem in other areas. The community at large has complained about this issue for many, many years and offered many suggestions to fix this, including fraudulent vote detection, which a site like this should have but strangely Newgrounds seems to lack, at least to any effective capacity. Until Newgrounds can overhaul their primitive and backwards voting system they get a “one bomb” from me (no zero available here unfortunately), and unlike the aforementioned ratings on Newgrounds, this score is intended to be accurate.
