had a conversation last month with one…

had a conversation last month with one of your representatives, making it sound like I would not have a late fee for next month that I will be credited. She neglected to tell me where that money was being credited to which was towards the “balance”. It’s very sneaky and deceiving.
I can’t wait to pay the balance off to close this credit card. And if there are something I can write a review so I can warm people about your company about these late fees I will.

So if I am a day late on my billing cycle that month, I will be charged a late fee. Next billing cycle I will still be charged and punished a late fee for being late last month. That is wrong. It is a rip off you’re making money off of that from middle class people.

Do not use the app to pay the bill on…

Do not use the app to pay the bill on your account. If you do they will send you a text saying that they have processed your payment only to get a notice weeks later saying that your payment didnt go through. They over a week to process your payment and then blame your bank for the delay.

Buyer Beware

As a credit card, it is not bad technically, but if you want an increase in your credit limit, they will charge you. I recently received a message from them allowing me to increase my credit limit by $100, but they will charge me $19.95 for this increase. That speaks for itself about what kind of company this is. I was not charged an annual fee, but I am not going to waste my time with a company that charges their customers for credit limit increases.

If I could give a negative review I…

If I could give a negative review I most definitely would.
Oh where to begin, well starting off I never received my first bill. So I had to do a double payment on the 2nd one.
They keep saying that July wasn't paid but my bank says otherwise. I told them that, then they said well august wasn't paid, well try that again because my bank account says it was paid at this date at this time. So on and so forth until the month we're in.
Then on top of that I signed the agreement for 0% same as cash for 12m. But every bill I got in had an interest added on the bill. The most recent one was $1.05. so much for no interest for the contract.
Plus, because of their incompetence of not doing the billing correct they hit my credit for 110 points.
Trying to get a supervisor is impossible bc they won't give me one. They straight out said we don't have a supervisor or I won't do that.
I'm gonna pay off the bill of course but I am going to talk to an attorney bc it seems like to me that would be false advertisement and possibly breach of contract.
In my opinion they would be considered as a predatory lender and should be shutdown or fined till shutdown.
F these people.

I have a perfect credit rating

I have a perfect credit rating. I got Vivint security and also got it for my daughter. Yet Vivint wanted my daughter setup under Fortiva which I knew nothing about until I noticed a monthly fee charge of $12.50 as a cash advance fee. I screwed up—I should have done my research before buying Vivint thru Fortiva. Also, no one should trust Vivint.
I am updating my review from 1 star to 4 stars. Fortiva helped me update my Fortiva account by using a debit card so that there will be no cash advance fees. I received excellent help on the phone and online by a real person. The main original problem lies with Vivint.

No Annual Fee Credit Card is a Lie

I've had a Fortiva credit card for about a year and a half now. They advertised 'No Annual Fee'. I've charged around $1,100 in the past and never been late and am paying this enormous interest rate of 32%+ now. I have a perfect record with my account. However, they sent me an email saying they're changing their terms and conditions. From now on they will be charging an 'Annual Maintenance Fee' of $60 per year, charged at $5/month whether you have a balance or not! This is to begin in November 2023. When I called to ask why they were doing this to my account (because I had a perfect record of payments) they said they were doing it to ALL customers! They can disguise their new annual fee by calling it a 'maintenance fee' if they like, but it's basically an annual fee. How can you charge a maintenance fee when the account has a zero balance? Maintenance to do what? Nothing! I don't need this. I have other credit cards and I refuse to pay an annual fee to a bank that is already collecting an over 30% interest rate. I called Fortiva credit card and had them cancel my account the day I received the email. Thank God I just recently paid my balance off. They also told me it would take until Nov. 30th to close my account and I called on October 9th. Really? 7 weeks to close my account?? Ridiculous! Now, my credit score has just taken a hit. How? (1) I've now closed an account and (2) I've lost $1500 available credit that added to my total credit availability when figuring my percentage of available credit vs credit debt. I am NOT happy with Fortiva for changing their terms of service. What if I had of ignored the email? How sneaky of them to change everybody's credit card account by adding a fee when they advertised the card as No Annual Fee. Just down right dishonest. Goodbye Fortiva Bank. I don't want to do business with you anymore. I do not recommend Fortiva Credit Card.

The customer service is terrible

The customer service is terrible! I made a payment three weeks ago online that did not show up the next day. It showed no record of that payment being made so I made a second one like an idiot, which resulted in two payments, going through my bank, and one of them not being authorized. They have suspended my account and charged me a $25 NSF fee even though my bank waived all fees because they said it was not authorized. I’m getting nowhere with this company.

If I could give them 0

If I could give them 0, I would.
Got a 0% interest for 12 months. The first payment they took the full amount (and also charged a $79 annual fee). I called land disputed that, they said it was refunded and would take 10 business days for me to have a refund check after it was cleared from my bank. The money cleared 8/31. I called monday 9/18, no check. Was told it would be here by Friday. Called again 9/22, still no check. At that time was told the "back office" didn't clear the refund until 9/11 so it would be 10 business days from then to get my refund. Told again to wait. Called again 9/25. Nothing. Spoke with a supervisor, Manuela. She said she would personally call me with an update on the 27th. Guess who didn't call. Spoke with John, another supposed supervisor. No help. I told him to reverse the refund and close the account. He said it would take 3-5 days for that to take effect. Let's see if that's true, but I'm highly suspicious that I'll have to call them AGAIN.
They have been nothing but a headache and I wish I would have just paid outright.

APR 36%!

I just received a notice that their annual APR is now 36%! Is that legal? Loan sharks don’t charge that much interest.

Plain and simple, big time thieves

Made a Wayfair purchase on July 15 2022. First statement was dated August 11 2022 showing an interest fee dated August 9 2022. After giving up on trying to have their costumer service explain why there was an interest fee on a 24 month deferred fee plan even before the first statement was generated, on Jan 30 2023 I paid the full balance of the statement (dated Jan 11 2023). Payment was due on February 6 2023. After almost 7 month with not a single communication form them (email, letter, phone call, nothing), on August 17 2023 came to find out there is a late payment on my credit report from them, claiming there was a fee not paid and now I owe 85 dollars. After looking at filling a claim with BBB (which I didn't because Fortiva cannot get any lower reviews) I filed a claim with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau which is a government agency. Government should shut them down and ban them from any financial activity.

They repeatedly LIE about posted…

They repeatedly LIE about posted payments. Never been late ONCE… always at least a WEEK early and still get fees. I plan on filing fraud charges. I’ve recorded all chats, conversations, online account info., etc. I suggest all do the same. Go to your bank and fight their fraud and scam ways. It’s against banking laws!!! The LYING was the last straw for me.

Make you pay with late fee's & interest fee's when it's there fault.

My husband and I have an account with Fortiva. I thought at the beginning that the accounts came under one so I started paying one not knowing about the other until my husband handed me an envelope and ask me to pay it bc it was late. I told him that I already paid them. Later another day I noticed that the one he gave me had his name on it so I called to explain what happened. I paid late fee but was unaware of interest fee's.(never heard of that) Also at the beginning I didn't know who they were and that Vivint was totally separate. Vivint explained to me that they was the service and Fortiva was the equipment. A bit much from all of the problems that we had from the very beginning with the equipment. My husband started out with $2000.00 which in a years time we paid 1330.21. His balance as of now is 1801.73, only 153.00 was applied on the account from payments from July 2022 to July 2023. Difference of 515.98 extra Fortiva wants us to pay for late and interest fee's. On mine they took double payment and the reason why my husbands account was messed up is because they had changed it to my name so my name was on both accounts as the owner of the accounts. Fortiva's making us pay for the mistake that they made. Last month June 2023 They just fixed it by putting my husbands name back on the rightful account that belongs in his name. We should not have to pay for there mistake. They rip people off which is not right and they don't work with you even when the situation or error is on there end. Totally not right.

NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY OR ANY COMPANY THAT USES THEM FOR FINANCING. They will randomly switch your retail loan (security system payment, etc) to a CREDIT CARD LOAN. Then start reporting that new Credit Card to credit unions.

THE PROBLEM with this is you can make all your payments faithfully but they'll convert you to a card with an extremely low credit limit. Causing your Credit Utilization to sky rocket and your credit score to plummet. Went from 815 to 720 in 60 days, this was the only change in my credit report.

Vivant used this to finance my security system at 0% interest. I paid every month. They sent me one random email saying I must "reject the change". (how many emails go missed) Nothing in writing, nothing in the mail, never even received the credit card.

This is modern-day loan sharking. No one in customer service can rectify this situation or even come up with one benefit to consumers for this change. Paid off the balance and closed the account immediately. Tricksters and frauds. BEWARE!

Fortiva Credit Card review pros and cons

Had the credit card for a while paid it off within a timely manner call to have the maintenance fee waived cancellation Department said no problems my account qualify for one year of no maintenance fee was never charged in maintenance fee for April and May then turned around and got electronic statement for June for the $12 maintenance fee. Called again to ask why was not given a significant or sufficient reason rather why has to be transferred to that department was declined by the customer service agent. The credit card is actually not worth the headache especially when you have to pay for a credit increase which I found to be kind of off a little bit. Expect to pay at least $40 to $50 each month on purchases there is no set minimum under that amount unless you spend under $30 then you would be required to pay that $30 as a minimum. Closed the account. If you're looking for a easy way to maybe establish credit Capital One would be the way to go.

Fortive sucks. I owed them 1.51. talked to their customer service. they agreed to have it written off !!!! But Fortiva continued to bill me 69.37 ???. when this payment did not go through they charged me 30.00 for bank not paying it!!! So you can not owe them anything but still bill you for a normal payment. What gives ???? State Attorney General complaint time!!!

Don't believe the "you're pre approved" JUNK MAIL!

I have received several letters stating I have been pre approved for this credit card. After a run of bad experiences years ago, I've worked very hard to fix my credit and decided to get a credit card for emergency purposes, and to help with reestablishing my credit. So I open this pre-approved letter and what?? Immediately it tells me that I am no longer eligible, ??? It was put in my mailbox 30 min ago, how am I no longer eligible?? It's another piece of junk mail. Throw it out.
