DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!

Purchased camera on 20th March but didn't look until trustpilot or reviews until too late. Payment was taken immediately but have had no response since. Sent multiple chaser emails to ask about a refund or where the item is and have been ignored. Sadly all the previous reviews are true and this shop is a scam. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE. Thankfully paid via card instead of bank transfer so will be disputing this with my bank.

Sadly a scam

Sadly a scam! I should have looked on here first!
Purchased on line, order confirmed, 6 weeks later nothing no item received, calls not answered, emails not responding. Now the item I purchased is back for sale proving its a scam!
What people need to know do is report to trading standards and if necessary take legal action as I will be doing, only way to stop people getting scammed!!!

Avoid at all costs...

Please avoid purchasing anything from this business unless in person and you can see the goods you are buying. My experience is the same as most others here - ordered goods online, no response from repeated enquiries by email or telephone. Perhaps the only better experience is that after 3 weeks I did get my money refunded, after explaining that I would be contacting trading standards and the police. I cannot understand why someone would operate a business so badly, and expose themselves to accusations of fraud and dishonesty. Sadly, the impact of this is the same - if you treat customers this way, expect to be held accountable.

Bought a vintage camera, money taken then ignored

Bought a vintage camera and money was taken immediately yet item never was sent out.
I called both numbers and landline not a valid number and mobile he only answers if and when he feels like it as the one time I got through he said leave it with me and I will call you back then heard no more again.

No response to emails, text messages etc so was advised to report to action fraud uk as it more and more seems like a scam company, eventually I had to go through my bank and report transaction as a scam but couldn't do this until 15 days had past since purchase date, they did eventually refund my money.

I just wish I had checked reviews of this company first as I would never of used had I seen the countless people they took money from with little to no intention of sending out their purchased items, absolutely terrible this still goes on, in my case in 2026 they should be closed down permanently, and face a judge in court and be punished for the frustration they inflict on genuine people.

I dread to think the amount of people that must of ordered gone through same disgusting treatment and got so frustrated that they just gave up and lost money to these ignorant vile people that have no customer service skills whatsoever, and by the looks of things no intention of sending you what you paid for.. UBELIEVEABLE !

PLEASE avoid this company at all costs and save yourself the stress and frustration.

WARNING! This is a rogue trader who takes your money and does not ship anything.

I bought a lens from MW Classic Cameras and stupidly did not check them out on Trustpilot before I made a bank transfer. I now know that it is a massive red flag if a trader only takes bank transfers, because that means the banks will not refund the money as they do with card payments. Lesson learnt.

MW Classic Cameras emailed me a very legit looking invoice but when they hadn't sent me shipping details two days later, I rang the owner, David Woodford, on his mobile 0781 688 8956, and he gave me a song and dance about being away from the shop, but he would definitely ship the lens on Monday. On Monday he told me he "could not ship it" without any further explanation but promised a refund. Which of course never materialised.

So I've lost the money, partly through my own stupidity but mainly through the criminal activity of MW Classic Cameras and its owner David Woodford. At least I have reported this rouge trader to the police, and I urge everyone else who have been scammed by this creep to do the same at reportfraud.police.uk.

Scam site but with a twist

Scam site but with a twist. Seller will happily answer your calls but with a reply, "working on it", "delays due to busy business", "he's outside office but post when back", "he'll work on refund request",... end of the day, you lost your money and the con artist will make you tired of calling. No email purchase receipt and zero response to emails. Contacted bank for refund. Report to ncsc.gov.uk as scam website.

p.s. Seller is on ebay under same company name. Now you know how to get back if you got scammed buying directly from his site. Ebay will back buyer and you know what to do.

Looks like i have been caught as many others have. I ordered a camera and received an order number showing my order was being processed and the fact i had paid. Now after more than a month nothing has arrived, i tried sending emails but they come back as undeliverable so i suppose thats it. They should be removed from their on line presence and ebay.

This shop is borrowing your money free

This shop is borrowing your money free. They have lucrative prices for products, but if you pay for it the item remains available for sale and the item never gets shipped. So the shop is using your money for the two months you file a complaint through your bank, because the shop simply does not answer your emails,

No item or refund, avoid

Item ordered 7 December 2025, not yet received and no replies to emails or phone call. Unfortunately I paid from my debit card so have probably lost my money. Will chase it up but advise not to use this shop.

Mw classic cameras - avoid at all costs

Mw classic cameras have a great website with some great items on it. However it appears that they have no intention of fulfilling orders. I had to chase multiple times and was provided with misleading information on multiple occasions. I have reported them to trading standards and I advise people not to use this company. I still await my refund from an order placed on 12/11/25.

Avoid this Dodgy Outfit

About the worst experience I have had shopping online. Order and payment taken but lens purchased was never sent. No response to multiple emal communications and telephone messages until I demanded a refund and indicated I would contact trading standards. Then David Woodford responded almost immediately promising to sort everything out the next day. He then did absolutely nothing. Managed to retrieve the money by raising a dispute with my credit card company but what a waste of time. I would advise you give this dodgy gentleman a miss and I urge the many who have had a similar experience to raise the issue with trading standards. It is extraordinary that a business can be allowed to continue operating when it consistently takes payment for orders with no intention of supplying anything. Ultimately this is just a form of theft.

Took payment, no lens after 3 weeks.

TLDR: Think very carefully before giving MW Classic Cameras your business - no matter how tempting the price.

I stupidly decided to give MW another go (after a less than stellar experience in about 2019), because they had a lens I wanted for a very good price.

I paid £160 for a 50mm Leitz Elmar screwmount lens, but the first inkling of trouble was that no confirmation email was received (I had 'screenshot' the browser confirmation message, just in case).

After there was no sign of the lens a week later, I phoned MW, to be told that the owner had been away on holiday, and was catching up with workload - my lens would be dispatched the next day. I then phoned two more times over the next couple of weeks, each time being promised that it would be dispatched immediately. I finally got fed up, and phoned today to request a full refund. I was told that the refund was being initiated as we spoke - but obviously I have no way of verifying that.

UPDATE 3/10/2025: I eventually received my refund in full, but it took a couple of days to arrive in my bank account - I don't know whether the delay was due to MW, or the way the banks handled the refund.

As others have said, I don't think that there's any deliberate intent to defraud, but they're just spectacularly badly run. I've lost nothing financially, but it was a very frustrating experience altogether.

I ordered and paid for the goods last…

I ordered and paid for the goods last June, to this day I have nothing, neither the goods nor the money, he only promises and he is a fuc... thief. I sent him emails with proof of payment for the goods, still only promises.
I am going on a trip to London.
