Review of Moxy Edinburgh Airport
Review of Moxy Edinburgh Airport – A Total Disappointment
From the outside and in the lobby, this property looks and feels like any other Moxy you might visit around the world. Unfortunately, that is where the similarities end. One critical but shocking issue: there is no air conditioning in the rooms.
Our room was 26°C (79°F) when we arrived and climbed to 28°C (82°F) by bedtime. The only solution provided was a tiny wall fan that did nothing to cool the space. The window opens just a crack, offering no relief. We essentially spent the night in a sauna. It was impossible to sleep, my wife and I developed migraines, and our kids had a miserable time trying to fall asleep in the heat.
This feels like a bait-and-switch. Nowhere in the booking process was it made clear that the rooms have no AC. For a hotel carrying the Marriott name and charging what they do, this is unacceptable. Even a budget motel—or camping—would have been a more comfortable option.
I have stayed at many Moxy properties globally, and this is by far the worst. Marriott should be embarrassed to keep its name on this hotel, and Bonvoy members should be warned. The lack of transparency and comfort is appalling.
DO NOT stay here. There are far better options nearby, and even if it means a slightly longer ride to the airport, it will be worth it. This property completely fails to meet Marriott standards.
