Monstaliner's Failure to Perform or Respond
The following review and images are intended to serve as a warning to potential buyers of Magnet Paint’s “Monstaliner” truck-bed/automotive coating.
I purchased Monstaliner in September 2022 and immediately applied two coats under ideal conditions after meticulous proper surface preparation. The result was excellent for eighteen months. However, an indicator of product failure occurred at that time, after which the coating began to steadily “bleach out,” fading from its original rich red to a dull pinkish-orange. I emailed Magnet Paints with photographs and a request for assistance and was ignored. Seven months later I sent them a certified letter with updated photographs and was ignored.
To anyone considering an investment of money and time in Magnet Paint’s “Monstaliner”: This coating will fail before its published “5-Year Warranty” expires and, when document-supported warranty service is requested you will be ignored and your investment will prove a loss.
Note: I chose not to waste further time writing to Magnet Paints to advise them that their coating was, at the 36-month mark, starting to peel (nullifying clearcoat application as a fix). I have since refinished the vehicle with Durabak.
