Appalling Business Practices: Withholding Deposits & Ghosting Customers. Avoid MMR Motor Group

Do not trust this dealership with your money. My experience with MMR Motor Group Ltd (Gosforth) has been characterized by misrepresentation, breach of contract, and total unprofessionalism.
I paid a £300 deposit for an Audi A6 after being assured in writing that the car would be fully ready and serviced. I undertook a stressful 7-hour round trip to collect the vehicle on the agreed date, only to find it had major, undisclosed functional faults. The electronic passenger seat was completely dead and non-functional, and the satellite navigation system was entirely broken. These were not "minor cosmetic issues" related to the car's age; the vehicle was simply not fit for purpose.
When I exercised my legal right to reject the car due to these faults, the dealership refused to return my £300 deposit. In a blatant attempt to avoid a refund, they claimed they were keeping my money to cover a £380 "gearbox service." This is a complete contradiction—the gearbox service was explicitly promised to me in writing via WhatsApp as part of the original sales offer. A business cannot legally charge a consumer for their own costs of preparing a faulty car for sale.
Since I pointed out this fact, MMR Motor Group has completely ghosted me. They have ignored all formal emails for over a week, refused to provide an official complaints procedure, and failed to disclose their Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme details. They are simply hiding from their obligations in the hope that I will give up.
This matter has now been formally reported to Citizens Advice and Trading Standards, and formal legal proceedings are underway to recover my funds.
Save yourself the money, the wasted journeys, and the stress. Buy your car from a reputable dealer who respects consumer rights, because MMR Motor Group certainly does not.
