I can still recall the old days when we used to upload our mixes and stuff, but the way they handled their service to monetise and get subscriptions, killed the whole vibe. Now it is still a great place to upload podcasts or dj sets, but come one, who wants to pay a subscription to be able to click back on a specific timeline to hear again the podcast? I mean, there are tons of "freeware" services with tons of features....

I have been trying to solve an issue…
I have been trying to solve an issue with being able to upload to Facebook. It basically wont do it. I received an email advising me clear browser settings etc which I had already done. Now when I try to move the conversation forward, all I receive are emails with the message ##please type your reply above this line## What does that even mean? I have tried to include this message and even reply above the line but to no avail. This is now 14 emails in and still no real connection to your service team or solution to me issue.

Quick and friendly response
Quick and friendly response from support.
I reported a bug / problem could not be solved, but the communication with the supporter was good, fast responding and friendly.
Major problem solved now.
So i would rate 2 things:
Support communication was very good.
Fixing the problems needed more time and caused neg. effects. That was not so cool, but fixed now.
After reaching no reply poor editing and catalog system.
After reaching out twice and struggling to get a reply I thought I’d leave a request here. Long story short as a streamer who regularly streams, trying to navigate in the back end of mixcloud select is a complete joke.
Imagine over two hundred mixes in no order, no dates on files, no names or anything. All I have is a list of shows all with the same name & artwork. Mixcloud can’t even reply when approaching them on how I can make this easier, poor at best, great platform I want to work as I enjoy paying royalties. This is absolutely the worst music app out there currently for serious steamers, I literally can never FIND the mix I want to upload and am yet to get a reply regarding this. It's just poor Mixcloud; please get some proper controls and allow streamers to edit shows, we all start with a stock piece of audio and can’t edit it out. Please look listen and act on what you’re community are doing as we have moved on, the game involves streaming too so taking money while offering no support or replies make you one of the worst companies I’ve dealt with to date, sorry but that's the truth guys. Fix up
Hey I got a reply!. Whooo hoooo
Feb 25th I reached out to mixcloud and took nearly a year to finally get a meaningful response pity it’s Via trust pilot. We really do have more power than we think if we stick together.
So mixcloud the ticket number you have so aptly misplaced is 67357 I think . Managed to find the email it was from so long ago. Please let’s not be referring to the stock answer you sent of “we will pass this on” (Had 2) As it’s a year since and nothing has been changed why so poor, ignoring customers requests.

I took a free trail of cloudmix, and decided it not for me, 3 months later I get a debit from my debit card for 9.99 cloudmix pro, I never signed to pro , and refuse to deal with it other than refuse refund,
Make sure you dont give them debit card details for free version as they wioll just go to your bank and remove money, Looks like I am now gonna have to fight them for it, through small claims or something

Love the way I got the help
Could and should be SO much better!
I've been on Mixcloud 18 months, gained 1760 followers, posted 307 mixes, 195 have charted on Mixcloud charts.
The Pros:
1. A great platform for DJs to upload their mixes that can readily be found by others, you can post links directly to your mixes sets and page.
2. Good for LIVE audio and video streaming. I've seen DJs LIVE from clubs, weddings and many other places.
3. A rare platform that worked out royalties with record labels & artists in advance to allow DJs to upload mixes with copyrighted content that doesn't "steal" from the artists. It's a win win scenario, DJs mix and upload content and build their fan base, the artists get royalties for that work and those DJs help to promote the artists material.
4. Even with the non paid account you can load as much content as you wish.
The Cons:
1. Customer service is average when compared to other sites with routine questions. However, they're BELOW AVERAGE with complex questions and worse with the accuracy of answers. Meaning: you ask a question and they often send you an answer to something else. It's like huh, did you even read my question? I'm being very fair here, that's been my expereince with more than half of my questions. If that's the best they can do, get rid of the support staff and go to forums like many DJ tech services. You get good info because others help you find a solution having already been through it. Not some overwhelmed support employee.
2. They don't pay the amounts advertised. You have to generate $50 of revenue before payout. Each month a balance less than $50 rolls over to the following month, all of that is fine. However, regardless how many subscribers you have, I would expect the accounting to be accurate, right? Doing the math with the number of subscribers I have, minus the posted fees, I'm short. It's only 16 cents short, I only have a few subscribers. But would I be short $160 with a few thousand subscribers? I mainly want to understand why my math doesn't match theirs. Especially before I invest more time and energy. Still waiting on an actual answer from customer support.
3. Their app needs a lot of work if it's going to compete against other music services apps. This is where they TOTALLY BLOW IT. They have a product unlike ANY others, actual DJs making mixes that you used to have to buy for $20 $30 $40+. There's local, regional, ammature and professionals DJs, even international headliners like Deadmau5, Don Diablo, Carl Cox and more on the platform. However, people go to Spotify and elsewhere to hear a Deadmau5 or other headliner mix. Until they market their unique product to the people who go to those festivals or the kids that buy the majority of new music they will NEVER get beyond the present. Which is an ok DJ platform that's really only followed by other DJs. Market the app towards kids and make it less of a hassle to use it the first time. If it takes too much to join why would people jump through hoops for something that's not that impressive or popular in the first place?
4. Mixcloud claims to be Audio Culture but they don't show much respect for the DJs who create content for the site. People who create and load shows onto the platform still have to listen to commercials. Sounds fine if you're listening to another person's show, but you have to listen to commercials for your own shows. Even when you're a paying member, you have to listen to commercials on other peoples sets, but why do I pay to be a pro member and then still have to listen to commercials on a set I uploaded? It's no longer audio culture, it's become its own worst enemy. It's a cash cycle-circle; they have to gain more revenue to pay out more royalties to the growing number of uploaded mixes of copyrighted material that they have to pay out more royalties...
The bottom line is Mixcloud has to be struggling financially or have poor leadership with a lack of vision? The majority of its content creators are DJs who post mixes with songs by DJ/Producers both EDM and Hip Hop. It's not Audio Culture as much as a great idea for DJs 10 years ago that's still not caught on and still mainly only DJs.
DJ mags list of the top 100 DJs each year has become a whos who in rhythmic music production. Only 15-20 of them even bother with Mixcloud; it's either still NOT become the new "thing" or NEVER will. Mixcloud could and should be a 4 or 5 star site, but Mixcloud has too much to learn about it's own unique product, how to market itself and about customer service.
Mixcloud Pro is $15 per mo. You can have an internet radio station for that. For 2-3-4 times that amount you'd have a great one. If you post mixes across social media ask yourself if you need Mixcloud. I ask myself that and the only thing I'd miss is the cool DJs I've met there. Is that Mixclouds idea of Audio Culture?
I wish Mixcloud was better, I want it to be, it just isn't and may never be.

Public radio program on personal website
I love how Mixcloud lets me share my public radio program on my personal website. That way interested people can listen any time. I appreciate the fact that Mixcloud pays the musician royalties, (that I couldn't afford) and is helpful about answering my questions.
Billing Issues. Low quality customer service.
My new credit card didn't work on their service. They couldn't validate a simple zip code and wouldn't tell me why or how they could fix it. No help at all! No one to contact by phone. Emails are kinda empty with half answers and empty/no work solutions.
They also saved my previous bank card number so they could charge from it. So I had to cancel. I'm not happy about it because I was otherwise happy to support an artist on that platform. Word to the wise, use an dedicated credit card number with them (some banks offer this). So when you need to cancel, you don't have to worry about them failing at that. You can just cancel the card number.

I love this platform
I love this platform. My only complaint is that you should advertise Premium at the full price. Not EMIT VAT . Its quite sneaky really. It says £5.99 a month then you go to the premium page and it's bumped up with VAT to nearly 8 quid a month. I thought only spare parts dealers and wholesalers did this. Not a streaming website as netflix...youtube...amazon etc don't. Nor do deezer or Spotify as far as I'm aware....
##MY 5 GREAT INVENTIONS STORY##
##MY 5 GREAT INVENTIONS STORY##
I've been DJing since birth lol [music in the blood] - and i've been VJing since the first VHS machines were invented [Invention #1]. I'm an analogue artist - I dislike the thought and fact that a computer can/has replaced the human when mixing music ... anyway - my choice was/is not to 'go digital :)
So some more important inventions came along over the next 40 years. The 7" vinyl availability dried up, so i put my vinyl into storage, and I excitedly embraced the first professional CD players from 1992 onwards.
From 1994, Pioneer were ... the CD 'pioneers' imo ... they made the best and most reliable CDJ players and mixers [Invention #2]. I happily upgraded my Pioneer CD products until 2004, when this incredible invention made its debut on our planet - the Pioneer DVJ-X1 [Invention #3]
The Pioneer DVJ-1000 followed in 2006 [Invention #4], so i put my CDs in storage at that point, and i've been exclusively VJing ever since. I thought that was the end of great inventions for analogue VJs - but i discovered one more great invention just a couple of months ago - Mixcloud [Invention #5].
Thanks to Mixcloud's incredibly impressive technology, I'm beginning a new chapter in my DJ/VJ career, as i can now display my VJing skills to a Live audience online [broadcasting to, and entertaining, an at-home audience initially, during the Covid lockdown period], using Mixcloud Pro. I've lots to learn re fine-tuning Mixcloud's features to suit my needs - but i look forward to utilising their great technology to compliment my own product in the coming years. A great invention - well done Mixcloud. Take a bow.
