A fantastically well organised tour of Egypt. We were a large group with a range of children’s ages 5-13 years with different requirements. Our agent, Gehad, listened and implemented all our needs and more. We couldn’t recommend this company more highly, one of the best trips I’ve experienced. Two full day trips organised with Misr Travel, one from Cairo around Saqqara, Serapum and one from Luxor to the West Bank, Valley of the Kings, Medinat Habut, Ramesseum and more. Communications and efficiency overall was superb. Having previously used Misr Travel over 19 years ago, I was very pleased that my positive experiences from the past continued to the present. Excellent drivers, new luxurious air conditioned vehicles and more importantly knowledgeable guides. Our guide from Luxor was Marian Mohareb who provided a breadth of information without ‘over talking’ and was able to give us space and time to think and have our own thoughts whilst providing us with detailed information about the sites context, history, timelines, pointing out important aspects and symbolism. Would highly recommend.

First of all, everything was absolutely perfect — we truly felt treated like kings throughout the entire journey. The trip went extremely smoothly, allowing us to learn so much about ancient Egyptian culture while also enjoying moments of relaxation in stunning locations: with a breathtaking view of the pyramids in Giza, along the fascinating Nile in Luxor, and overlooking the beautiful Red Sea in Hurghada. Even the overnight sleeper train from Cairo to Luxor was a very enjoyable and memorable experience.

Now let me talk about MISR Travel:
Gehad, our travel consultant, did an excellent job designing our itinerary and organizing each day. She was always kind, efficient, and very responsive via email. Before and during the trip, we were also supported by Zeinab, the contracting manager, who did a truly outstanding job. She accompanied us virtually throughout the entire journey, checking in with us daily and making sure everything was perfectly arranged — we always felt supported and cared for.

From the very beginning, the experience was exceptional. Upon arrival in Cairo (with our direct flight from Milan), we immediately felt like special guests. Hany welcomed us at the airport and took care of everything — from money exchange to the tourist visa — and guided us efficiently through customs and security, saving us a lot of time and hassle. Outside the airport, Amr and our driver were waiting to take us to the hotel.

The following day, we visited the Giza pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum . Our guide, Mohamed Salah (Moh, as we called him), was outstanding. He has incredible knowledge of Egyptian history and culture, but what made the experience special was his ability to connect history with modern Egypt — from books to movies — making everything engaging and easy to understand.

That evening, Moh accompanied us to the sleeper train to Luxor, marking the start of another unforgettable chapter of the trip.

Upon arrival in Luxor the next morning, we received another warm welcome from Mahmoud and the driver. Mahmoud was extremely kind and helpful, assisting us with all hotel check-in procedures. In the afternoon, we began exploring Luxor with our guide Radwan (Rino, for us), an Egyptologist and a fantastic photographer — truly the perfect combination! He shared fascinating insights into the pharaohs, explained the meaning behind the monuments, and even taught us how to read hieroglyphics. Thanks to him, our experience in Luxor was simply unforgettable.

Luxor itself was magical, with the unique atmosphere of the Nile. We also enjoyed visiting the local bazaar, accompanied by our driver Mohamed.

After two incredible days, we traveled to Hurghada, our final stop. The driver was very kind and even helped us stop at a pharmacy along the way when needed.

Our Red Sea experience was just as amazing. Ayman, our local MISR Travel contact, recommended a private boat excursion that allowed us to fully appreciate the incredible colors of the sea near Hurghada. We were even lucky enough to spot dolphins and many beautiful fish while snorkeling along the coral reefs — a truly unforgettable experience.

Now that we are back home, we carry with us so many wonderful memories of this incredible journey, where we discovered the richness of an ancient civilization while enjoying every moment.

The Cairo day trip had some highlights, but overall the experience felt poorly organised and at times quite concerning.

The biggest issue happened early in the morning. Around 7am, one of the coach drivers appeared to be falling asleep while driving. He was nodding his head back and forth and driving very slowly. At one point he even used Google Translate to say that he was tired and that we should wake the other driver. This understandably caused a lot of panic and commotion on the bus. After that moment nobody felt comfortable enough to sleep for the rest of the journey, which made the long trip even more exhausting.

We arrived in Cairo at around 9am and began at the museum. Unfortunately, this part of the tour felt unnecessarily long and not very engaging. We spent an excessive amount of time in certain areas, including roughly 20 minutes discussing a single map, and because the group was a mix of English and Polish tourists, every explanation had to be repeated twice. This made the visit feel slow and repetitive, and many people in the group seemed to lose interest.

Throughout the day we were taken to several stop-over shops, including a perfume shop and later a papyrus shop. At the perfume shop the guide had everyone sit down and listen to a sales presentation from the seller. It felt uncomfortable and somewhat forced, as if we were being encouraged to buy products from the guide’s friends rather than focusing on the tour itself. A similar situation happened later at the pyramids, where we were asked to stand in a circle and listen to a souvenir seller at a market stall before continuing our visit. It felt unnecessary and took time away from actually enjoying the sights.

We finally arrived at the pyramids around 3pm and left around 5pm. Considering that the pyramids are the main reason people take this trip, it was disappointing that we spent more time at the museum and the various shops than at the pyramids themselves.

Another major issue was the lack of clear organisation. The guide rarely told us how long we had at each location or where the meeting point would be. Instead, he would simply say something like “go take your pictures” and later shout if people were not back quickly enough. Without clear timings or meeting points, this made the day feel confusing and stressful at times.

The pyramids and the Sphinx themselves were obviously incredible to see, and that part of the day was memorable. However, the overall organisation, the uncomfortable sales stops, and especially the worrying situation with the tired driver meant the trip did not live up to expectations

We had an outstanding experience with Misr Travel during our 8-day trip to Egypt as a large family group of 18 people, including young children.
From the very beginning, the organization was excellent and extremely smooth, which was crucial given the size of our group and the presence of kids. Having a professional guide accompanying us was absolutely indispensable for visiting historical sites and for handling airports, security checks, logistics, and local procedures, including tipping.
Our itinerary was rich and perfectly balanced:
Visits to the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)
A private dahabiya cruise on the Nile, which was a highlight of the trip: courteous and attentive crew, good food, a relaxed rhythm, and a truly authentic local experience
A transfer to Abu Simbel, followed by an overnight stay in the desert, an unforgettable and deeply moving experience
Throughout the entire journey, across different locations, the agency was always responsive on WhatsApp, providing continuous support, clear communication, and reassurance whenever needed. This constant presence made a real difference and allowed us to travel with peace of mind, especially with young children.
We were also struck by the kindness of the people, the sense of hospitality, and the opportunity to experience Egypt in a genuine way.
One practical recommendation: it is helpful to inform yourself in advance about how tipping is managed, as it is an integral part of travel in Egypt.

Excellent service from Misrtravel during my two weeks in Egypt. A programme was designed that met my requirements. Hotels were booked, all tickets purchased, meet and greet/goodbye at the airport, drivers and guides provided. Even when something went wrong, (my overnight train from Aswan to Giza was late arriving), I was able to contact someone and with their help, immediately locate my missing guide and driver.

A friend and I booked a 9 day trip to Egypt with MISR visiting the most notable archeological sites along the Nile plus a Nile cruise. This has been the most amazing trip I have experienced. Egypt is amazing and has lots to offer. Our trip to Egypt with Misr Travel — and in particular Mohamed — was truly the experience of a lifetime. He was referred to me by a friend who had travelled with him many years ago, and we reached out to organise a journey for three families (11 people in total).

From the very first call, Mohamed was reassuring, helpful, and endlessly patient. His calm, relaxed approach immediately put us at ease — even though we’re not usually used to such an effortless process! After several fun planning calls, everything came together beautifully.

Throughout our stay, we felt completely safe, supported, and respected. The itinerary was seamless, the hotels were exceptional (we only wish we had more time in Cairo and Aswan), and every detail was handled with such care.

As someone of Egyptian heritage, I felt incredibly proud to share this experience with my family and to deepen our connection to Egypt’s history and culture. My Mother used Misr Travel for our Nile Cruise 30 years ago. So for my family trip in July 2025, I trusted Misr Travel with our day tour of Cairo, tours of Abu Sambal, Aswan and Luxor including a camel ride, ATV ride and hot air balloon ride and transport to the North Coast. Everything was excellent. Everything was superbly planned, pick ups on time, excellent drivers, excellent tour guides and nice hotels. I used Misr Travel to tour the Giza Pyramids in June and the entire experience was easy and exceeded expectations. Our guide Omar was fabulous - his English was excellent and he knew all the best spots for photos! Highly recommend!

Our friends who had visited Egypt before told us that the tour guide would make or break our experience in Egypt. That is why our hotel highly suggested MisTravel. We were greatly surprised when we met our guide, Khaled, and learned of his life dedication and mastery of Egyptian history, culture, etc. Khaled has even appeared in a Netflix documentary about ancient Egypt. He was extremely knowledgeable, entertaining and accommodating. HIGHLY recommended!

We booked several airport transfers and a 2 day tour in Cairo and our experience with Marsil was outstanding she was always available in case we wanted to add new things or needed information. Our guide Omar was very knowledgeable and friendly, he kept things interesting for us and our 3 year old son.

Great company to work with, customized my trip very nicely and were very flexible. Flexible. Most of the guides were very good but some were a little bit older and perhaps out of touch. If I went back to Egypt again, I would use this company to design an itinerary again. The hotels they put us up in. We're five star and excellent. Details were attended to in that there was always someone there to pick us up from the airport drive. Us and handoffs were made so that we were never without an English-speaking person. We felt very secure. The website descriptions could use a little bit more detail and pictures. But overall the experience was wonderful. I took one star off because two of the guides were not in tune with our needs. They were certainly all very knowledgeable but the older gentleman didn't understand when kids were getting cranky or did not want to do something.

I wanted to thank Gehad, Marsil, and everyone else at MISR Travel for helping to arrange my family's recent Trip to Luxor and Aswan, and the Nile Cruise in-between.
