Mirento wants to charge us 965 euro for a scratch
The car rental service wants to charge us 965 euro for what they claim is a scratch that needs full bodywork. No receipt from a garage just their insistence that this is a correct price. "No one will rent a car with a scratch". I challenge you to find the relevant scratch on the car. In fact, the scratch that is supposedly there is obscured by other larger scratches in the area. Maybe this is something that happened while we were driving - although we did not hit anything or scratch the car (yes everyone says this) but this is what the insurance is for.
Maybe it was poor documentation and we should have noted all of the scratches on the car but seriously this scratch is obscured by much larger ones there.
And the 965 euro damage which was double the entire rental is extortion. This was handwaved as "this is the normal cost" and "Sixt would also charge you the same". I've never been charged this rate from any car company rental in Berlin.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. I will go back to Sixt and Enterprise where I've never been surprised by a bill like this.
