Absolutely hopeless
We had a landline with the Phone Coop which was then taken over by Mid Counties Coop.
That's when the problems started. The line stopped working, the repairs took ages and too much time was wasted on hold when trying to report a fault.
We decided to cancel the contract and went through three months of calls and emails not being answered.
It wasn't until we cancelled the direct debit that we got the first reply from them, an automated message telling us our email was important to them and that they would be in touch. They haven't been.
Great way to destroy a business!
If you are reading this because you are checking them out before signing up with them then please evaluate my comments in conjunction with their incredibly low rating.

terrible took them back stood there being questioned I left
Good store
Good store. Good choice. A few mistakes on the loyalty card from coop but it does offer good discounts, I like the medium sized store with fresh produce. Please stop shrink wrapping all the veg. The environmental waste is terrible.
I had a bad fall in co op store
I had a bad fall in the mid counties CO OP ON 18th November , tripped over a lip on a rubber mat inside store. Sustained injuries to my hand and knee which required drs appointment. Manager said he had put in a complaint and would ring me in a couple of days, but am still waiting for a call. Just tried ringing customer Sevices , they hung up on me twice . So don’t know where this accident report has gone. My daughter tried to put in a complaint twice online to no avail as it kept directing her to different sites. I am 80 years old and the shock of the fall and my injuries have really upset me . Don’t know where to turn for help

Address change shambles
My Mother's internet and phone provider is Midcounties and they have been awful during her recent house move. Despite promising to send someone to connect us on the day of the move, no one showed up. 11 days later my Mother is still not connected (apparently they will send a new router in the next few days....). My Mother is over 80 and has Alzheimer's and this has left her without a working phone (for example, if she needed to call an ambulance). We have dealt with several other utilities during this move and all of them are now connected. This is an absolutely terrible level of service and their intransigence in response has been shocking.

They "accidentally" cancelled my business SIM card, a phone number that I have used for my business for 10+ years - they almost lost it. Luckily, they managed to get it back and send it out to me on a new SIM card. It took them 2 months to achieve this, meanwhile they were still charging me the direct debit. Their apology was merely to refund me for the 2 months I had no access to the SIM card. 2 months of lost business, no phone calls. Their "accident" cost me potentially thousands of lost business.
AVOID MAIL.COOP
What went wrong THIS TIME⁉️ I tried to send an email but VERIFICATION FAILED‼️ And for the past HOUR (60 minutes and continuing) I’ve been getting informed that ‘Our phone lines are busier than usual so please bear with us and a member of our team will be with you as soon as possible’ Like ‘Shortly before The Second Coming’‼️ I joined The Phone Coop in 2000. In 2001 I was in France and needed to speak to them. I used a coin box having first found the French International Dialling Code, inserted sufficient French Francs and dialled. Hello, Phone Coop was the almost immediate response. Phonecoop members were paid DIVIDEND on USEAGE. To have a mail.coop mailbox I now have to pay £24 per annum. They’ve taken my money and my only profit is email service DISRUPTION.
HOW THINGS HAVE IMPROVED⁉️
‘
Stressful experience with bad customer service
IMO Avoid.
Unprofessional, incompetent, expensive
£51 for broadband, mail and landline + £10 for mobile pcm then they removed email charging £24pa for new MAIL-COOP email service which crashed on delivery. No telephone support line.
Dreadfully slow service
Since this store has been taken over it hasn't just gone downhill, it has fallen off a cliff!!!. I popped in for a few items and then waited and waited and waited to be served. The combined ages of the 2 women operating must have been 140 at least. Literally, it is quicker to drive the one mile to the large supermarket in town which is what I will be doing in future. The store I am referring to is situated in Areley Kings, Stourport
Not the company it was
What a awful company it has become. Where are the coop values. It means nothing being a member. My first 1000 points to charity, I did not agree this. The company BOD dont care about values or ethics. They value their staff even less. Ive seen this company get worse each year. Prices are too high. Bonuses for the upper management should be squashed as they really dont deserve it with the way they have destroyed this company.
Service, what service?
Well l’m sorry to say this but the service from the mid counties co-opt email transfer service team is none existent!
Been on the phone numerous times this week with an issue, passed from pillar to post. Told to contact accounts who just don’t answer the phone. Wait time over 40 minutes and still on hold.
So sad what happened to this company…
So sad what happened to this company but senior management and owners are entirely to blame, and this goes back decades, i remember working there and ALL the staff practically begging them NOT to buy somerfields, did they listen? No. And anybody with an ounce of retail knowledge predicted that outcome.
Nowadays, they are selling the blandest pizzas for five quid each, When you can walk a few doors down and get one cooked for you on collection for the same price. Guess what happens to all the pizzas? Wasted. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY
Pretty sure if they wasted less of their own money and got someone who has actually worked in retail before and not a bunch of lawyers, farmers and rich people on their boards, then they would be able to pay their staff more than they currently do, as its a wonder anyone even wants to work there at all. Dispicable destruction of what should be a pillar of every community!
Very poor experience having called into…
Very poor experience having called into the station to pay for groceries and fuel but the cashier not taking for the fuel even though the pump number was told. Now have a fine of £60 instead of a fuel bill costing £30. Won’t be using this station ever again!!!!!!!!!
just incredibly poor
I was proud to be a member, I grew up with the coop being a positive force in the community, sadly they now seem to think members are a commodity and an inconvenience.
The "member communications team" are some of the rudest people I have ever dealt with and the management team are totally uninterested in resolving. (before they ask, yes I raised it with the team and was brushed off, repeatedly)
Now they're slashing member benefits without any consultation it is difficult to see what remains of this once proud institution.
Midcounties Share Account? try to get your savings
Midcounties Share Account ok until when you try to get your savings! Paid small amounts over the years but had to close it as I needed the cash. Delay seems to be with the Share Ledger (Finances) Team in charge of releasing funds. No responses or returned calls to emails and telephone ansaphone messages. Still not received Bacs payment, after 3three weeks of sending written request (enclosing passbook).

Terminally muddled IT
I have before me a "Share of proffits" statement. It gives a code (e-voucher). It says "you can use [it] .... in any midcounties food store...". So I took the letter with the code into my local store (where I earned the points). The staff there did not have the foggiest idea what to do with it, said I must download and use the app. Which I did - only to be told that I had entered my coop card number, (which I did carefully and tripply checked) wrongly and would not let me register. Aaaaaaaagh!
Fortunately, there is a website given where you can request paper vouchers, that would accept my number. Waiting for them to come....
Disgusting, filthy toilets.
I visited the Ludlow store on Saturday 3rd September, asked if I could use the customer toilet, I was given an entry key. I entered the toilet on the right and was shocked at the utter mess that it was in. There was rubbish and toilet roll all over the floor, the rubbish bin was over flowing, the place was filthy and stank. I returned the key and swiftly left the store. I found myself in the same garage the next day and again needed to use the toilet, I was sure that it couldn’t possibly be like it was the day before as it surly would have been cleaned daily. Again I asked for the key and entered the middle toilet, I was discussed at the appalling mess that this was in, as with the previous day only this time there wasn’t even any soap to wash my hands. I abruptly left, handing the key back while telling the customer Assistant what I thought about the stores toilets. Do not enter, they are a health hazard.

This coop is a joke.
This coop is a joke. You have a dividend card so you can get cashback at the end of the year, but now you have to do it online. There are alot of pensioners use the store in Bourton on the water and they do not do online. This means that they don't get the vouchers ect that being a member entitles them to, so more money to the co-op. Sounds like a con? Well in my opinion it is.
Ham out of date by 3 days
Was sold a pack of ham by Peatmoor Coop food store in Swindon that was 3 days out of date this morning. Only realised when I got home. (Dated use by 13/01/2022) Not happy, Avoid
Poor service at checkout in Midcounties…
Poor service at checkout in Midcounties Co-op store. Being new to the area, I was not aware that Co-op and Midcounties Co-op are different companies, given the signage is the so similar and they scan your Co-op card as normal. I had an £8 off weekly offer from Co-op and noticed the discount hadn't been applied at the checkout, I queried why not and the cashier didn't know so asked a colleague. The colleague simply said "we are not part of that scheme" and turned away from us. No attempt from either cashier to explain why not or to provide details of Midcounties Co-op scheme and offer me a chance to join it (I only found out about it later online at home). Worse still when the cashier turned away from me she smirked at the customer she was serving who she clearly knew as if to say "stupid woman". Not impressed. I'm afraid it will be Tesco/Morrisons/Aldi/Lidl in a nearby town in future for me. Shame, as I would have preferred to support our little town and regularly shopped at Co-op before I moved here.
