Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 320 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the new design extremely clunky, difficult to navigate smoothly, and burdened by a dark and depressing color scheme. Consumers also complained that the updated layout feels overcrowded with information, requiring excessive scrolling just to find basic daily details. Reviewers expressed deep frustration about the removal of useful features previously available in older versions. The new web version is shockingly poor.

Wow, The Trustpilot summary accurately expresses my thoughts too. It says .....
"most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the updated app and website to be a disaster, describing them as clunky, unintuitive, and difficult to navigate. Users frequently reported a significant loss of functionality and information, making it harder to access key weather details and expressing a strong preference for the previous version."

Spot on.
So why does the new version still exist?

They don’t talk about the planes…

They don’t talk about the planes spraying chemicals and changing the weather? There should be an allowance made for the chemtrails blocking the sun for example. They should find out which experiments are being implemented on a particular day.

Awful beta website

Awful beta website

I doubt anyone is paying attention to the feedback about the beta.

I don't use the app, I use the website.
I just switch back to the old layout.
Not a fan of apps for the sake of them - most of them are just PWA's (progressive web app) anyway.

The new beta is a MASSIVE step in the WRONG direction.

I agree that the website needed a face lift, but what they've done is a crime against UX.

The UI may look sort of modern, in a 2012 windows 8 kind of way, but the experience is pathetic.

To find detailed information you have to scroll and scroll.

Huge fonts and lots of white space have been used I suspect to give it a more open feel?

Sadly it's had the opposite effect, everything feels cramped because you can't see as much information.

Met Office, please LISTEN to the feedback - it's overwhelming how many people think it's awful.

Looking for a day by day forecast 2…

Looking for a day by day forecast 2 weeks out. I notice the MO app only covers a week. Other forecasters like BBC or MeteoB do 2 weeks day by day. MO has qualitative words covering a paragraph for the 2nd week out. Trying to avoid more negative views on their forecasts no doubt. Of course 2 weeks f'cast is error prone but it is useful. It is truly shocking what has happened to the MetOffice and its public facing apps .

After years of using the Met office app uninstalled.

After years of using the Met office app, they have pulled the plug on the old working one forcing the dreadful new one on everyone.
How now uninstalled!
It's crazy that our tax payers money has been wasted on this utter rubbish, and no one from the Met office sacked over this.
To deliberately go from the best weather app out there to the worst, killing the golden goose is just unbelievable.
Still, like most I've uninstalled the old app and moved on to Windy app instead.
Bye bye pointless Met Office.

“Prev 6 Hours” function not working now

The “Prev 6 Hours” function on the weather map no longer works. This was one of the most useful features, to see how weather fronts have been moving. Also agree with others comments on colours, fonts and ‘clunkiness’ of new version which was FORCED upon me. WHY BREAK SOMETHING THAT DIDN’T NEED CHANGING!!

Met Office time to replace by a fir cone

Yet another wrong forecast of 20mph winds, which were more like 50 mph or over in south Cumbria and North Lancashire. Thanks to your wrong forecast plants destroyed and their greenhouse overturned. When we get to bank holidays its is clear the whole country just gets a London forecast

Useless Forecasting and Emergency Planning

On Tuesday morning severe, widespread thunderstorm activity affected London and the Home Counties. Their text forecasts stated 'isolated thunderstorms after midnight with most having clear skies'

What is more worrying, is the videos they published at 6AM on their web site and app didn't even mention the thunderstorms and the graphics were completely wrong. I suspect the Met Office are cheating and recording these forecasts before they go home the previous day!

There was also no weather warning for the thunderstorms. Over 26,000 lightning strikes, multiple homes hit with fires with the London Fire Brigade reporting over 400 calls regarding flooding.

Pretty useless eh?

Dreadful Forecasting

Dreadful app. Whilst I don't have issues in usability, like others seem to complain about, I DO have issues with the weather forecast being totally inaccurate half the time and constantly changing.

Inaccurate examples: numerous - right now in London it's torrential thunderstorms, whilst the app says it's 5% chance of rain right now and sunny.

Also, forecasts change so often, it's like someone is just spinning a wheel of randomness. Eg in the past 12 hours, the app has shown me ranges of different weather changing by 7c in the space of two days.

Just useless

Unreliable data

Can you please explain why you are saying it will be 32c at Totland bay today...
When the majority of weather apps say it will be 25/26c..

Very disappointing

The app would be brilliant if it didn’t insist on
telling me my current location is a street name half a mile down the road instead of the actual town I live in.
I’ve tried to get rid of this non-existent place but it keeps reverting back despite location being turned off so I deleted the app

I no longer trust your weather app

I no longer trust your weather app it appears to be completely at odds with the old version which was trustworthy and reliable. Almost every day now you forecast 90% chance of rain all day. In practice it is dry almost all day. I am now looking for a better app to replace yours. Go back to the old app that worked.

Its a guessing app. Not a prediction app.

Im certain their equiptment is fully broken as it is consistantly wrong almost every day.
Ive lost ALOT of days work (construction) because i was told 90% rain or thunderstorms, but then theres blue sky all day.

I get that the weather is chaotic and hard to predict. But if i couldnt swim, i wouldnt jump in the ocean. So if you cant even vaguely predict the weather, dont call yourself a weather app.

Dangerous would be my summary.

Dangerous would be my summary.
The accuracy can be so far out.
Today it predict 5% rainfall, and the weather prediction radar showed no rain. There was actually a massive thunderstorm crossing the country it failed to pick up, despite heavy rain thunder and lightning. And not just once but twice in one day last week I was in Scotland and it predicted it would be raining all day across the Northwest Highlands. It never rained that once even their own radar showed it never rain hopeless this new app hopeless.
