Don’t buy online from Meridian Records!
Meridian Records give the appearance of accepting card payments on their website using Paypal as an intermediary or payments via a Paypal account, but when you try to use a credit card, it’s not possible to effect payment without providing your date of birth and opening a Paypal account. I don’t take kindly to having a gun held to my head in this way and wrote to Meridian Records twice about the problem I’d experienced, concerned that there may be a technical issue on the website. They did not reply to my emails. In order to be able to buy a specific CD available for purchase only on the Meridian Records website, I had no choice but to open a Paypal account. When my CD arrives, I will close the Paypal account I opened under duress and NEVER purchase anything from Meridian Records again. I have never before encountered a company which displayed such derision for its customers. I cannot fault the company’s products, but it was profoundly disappointing to find that Meridian Records were incapable of engaging with a customer desperate to part with their money.
