Be careful working with Mentorium
As a former freelance employee of Mentorium (active from 2013-2020, and then again in 2023), I can only advise both potential clients and prospective employees to carefully consider before choosing to work with Mentorium.
Mentorium's recruitment process for recruiting freelancers is very brief and rudimentary, involving only a short test document without any form of interview, reference checks, etc. All of this means that while you may be lucky to end up being matched with a talented editor whose expertise lies in the subject of your work, you're equally likely to have your work assigned to a inexperienced or incompetent editor who happens to be quicker in responding to work offers.
From an employee perspective, I have four outstanding invoices for work carried out with Mentorium now spanning back up to four months, and a glance through recent other reviews here suggest that I'm far from the only freelance employee of Mentorium to suffer from this problem. Naturally there can always be plausible reasons for slightly delayed payments but Mentorium refuses to respond to any form of communication regarding this issue, to the extent that the matter is now in the hands of a debt collection agency.
