I tried to call Mekonomen Amager for the last 2 days in a row, & at least 6 times in total according to the advertised business hours. No answer, just an answering machine. I emailed the advertised email address asking for a quotation clearly stating my needs. I've heard nothing back... I ended up using quickpot, a fast, efficient service with no hassle. If I'd seen the trust pilot rating beforehand for Mekonomen I wouldn't have wasted my time in the first place.

Avoid at all costs Mekonomen, You will be overcharged by approximately 2-3 times the real cost of workmanship and materials.

Store In Lund but other shops Sweden wide will have the same directive from head office. scam at all costs.

2) Not listening to customer request
3) Refusing to supply refund or reducing additional repair cost
4) Overcharging for repair time
5) Exceeding the quoted repair time needed by 2-4 times

Dear Mekonomen,

I have been a loyal customer of Mekonomen for 2 years now although the cost has been extortionate believing that this was for the better.

I started hearing a strange sound from the rear of the car and it was pretty easy to isolate it to the Brushnings of the rear absorbers. For this reason I went to Mekonomen and I asked a replacement brushnings (bushers/bushings) for the rear. The employee told me that you cannot change only the brushnings but one has to change the shock absorbers.
Trusting the employee and the experience of Mekonomen I agreed to the repair which came to 4500kr. In retrospect this is simply not true.

After collecting the car back the employee told me that the car needs a change of the rear bushings because the sound is still there. I hope you can understand my surprise when he told me that.
I then asked how much would the bushing change cost . And he quoted approximately an additional 600kr for the cost of the materials only.

I refused to pay the additional workmanship because the employee had made an error and recommended to me the wrong thing. So I brought the car for a separate appointment with the view to pay 600kr which is the cost of the brushnings only.

Well, the store manager of Lund said he acknowledged the error of the employee but he wanted to charge me an additional 3500kr for changing the brushnings. He refused to negotiate the price at all.

I am very upset and disappointed with Mekonomen in Lund as I have trusted them with all my repairs so far.

I would be very grateful if you could try to help to resolve the issue. I am willing to pay the cost of the brushnings but not the additional workmanship as this is clearly an error of the employee.
I was recommended to change things in the car that I did not ask to be changed.
