I needed to obtain a copy of the deeds to my flat due to a potential dispute. I contacted McGregor Macleod through their website as they had done the conveyancing when I purchased the flat in 2020.

I received a response from Graeme almost immediately, asking for further details in order to identify the document. He dealt with my enquiry very efficiently and courteously, and emailed a copy of the document the next working day. No payment was required.

Both during this enquiry and the original conveyancing McGregor Macleod have been very efficient and courteous, and have provided excellent value for money.

My solicitor at MM was Kirstie and her efficiency and prompt responses helped make my flat purchase as smooth and as fast as possible. As it was empty and there was no chain etc I got the keys in 5 weeks including 2 bank holidays. This was especially appreciated as I'd been searching a while. I have dealt with McGregor MacLeod solicitors several times in the past years, in particular with Sharon Gray. She has been in impeccable in her work on my behalf and is extremely professional. She kept me fully updated throughout the process of the property sale and made the whole process easy. I would highly recommend McGregor MacLeod and will definitely use them again.

We decided to use Mcgregor Macleod for our move from Shrewsbury to Scotland. What we thought was going to be a fairly easy process turned out to be a bit of a nightmare. The previous owners of our home had failed to gain a completion certificate for change of use from Care home to residential home as well as major changes to the kitchen dining area. McGregor MacLeod recommended a 25K retention in order to allow the previous owners 6 months to rectify the works. They failed in this and the retention fell back to us to put the work right. Had McGregor MacLeod not recommended the 25K we could have found ourselves in a bit of a pickle. In the end we rectified the work for around 8.5K and the previous owners got some money back.

I'd just like to mention Marie Bryson. She sometimes can be hard to get hold of but when she says she's going to deal with it she truly does. Thank you McGregor MacLeod and in particular Marie, you saved us a real headache and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to friends and family.

Kirstie was great from start to finish and I’m very happy with the work done on this.

I moved at the end of September and the service was efficient enough but I ended up being charged almost £500 more than the original quote. I think that the welcome email is very misleading in stating 'The fee may vary if there is a difficulty with the title of the property you are selling or buying but we try to adhere to this fee as closely as possible.'

It was a straightforward sale with no issues around title deed, no help to buy scheme, no gifted deposit etc.

When I queried why the final bill was so much more (£1396.20 when I was quoted £916.20) I was told the senior partners set the fee rate and given no further information about how to complain, hence writing a review on here.

I note the response below, which really outlines my point. It wasn’t clear that these standard costs were not included in the quote. My feedback is still that your initial communication is misleading.

I cannot recommend macgregor macleod enough. We initially dealt with Jaspreet lidder and then Marie Bryson to complete our transaction. The level of professionalism and Competance they brought made the whole process very straightforward from start to finish, whilst also being very personable in their communications.
Simply put I will not be using any other solicitors in the future.

I used them for the conveyancing of the sale of our house in Scotland. The whole experience was totally seamless from start to finish. All done for us with zero stress. An estimated quotation was given before starting which , on completion , was actually less. Great value in comparison with your average Solictor ,with exceptionally professional service and much faster.
Sharon was wonderful, friendly and professional. She was always available for a personal chat as needed. She communicated every step and progress.

I had Kirstie as my solicitor for my sale and purchase and she did a great job for both. There were some problems with the seller of my onwards purchase but Kirstie was very diligent and on the ball chasing them up to try and keep the sale moving forward. Everything was done remotely over emails and the phone which was perfect. Their fees are very fair and transparent, so no need to worry about any hidden costs lurking. I couldn't recommend them enough and would use them again if I need any further legal services.

This is the second time i have used McGegor McLeod for conveyancing

First time round in 2020 i used Sharon Gray for the purchase of my first home.

Its because of the great initial service received, i decided to use McGegor McLeod for a second time. This time Margaret Scott dealt with the conveyancing for both my sale and purchase

I wouldn’t use anyone else and since 2020 i have recommended McGegor McLeod to several friends, family and colleagues who have all commented on how happy they were with the service. They are also very reasonably priced compared to other conveyancing solicitors, which is a bonus
