I am the victim of a tragic mistake by one of this company’s clients. They have treated me horribly, they won’t reply, they tried to get me to sign a document removing their liability by threatening me and they drastically undervalue my asset despite all the pain and heartache I’ve suffered. They are the worst insurance company I’ve ever had to deal with. Please do not use them. Lawyers and FOS now involved but it shouldn’t take this when you are a victim.

Ethan Peters provided detailed advice on more than one occasion. Calls did not feel rushed and were returned in a timely manner. He was very patient and addressed all queries making us feel more confident in our actions.

DD not collected despite availability of funds. Letter received on 26th April to tell me I was being charged my premium plus a late charge of £25.
Outrageous. I'm being charged for them failing to collect the premium and advised after the event. I'm going to cancel and would not recommend

We've had multiple issues with being charged the correct premium. I've been told several times it's been amended, and it wasn't. Friendly customer service, and hopefully, sorted now. Be sure to double-check what they tell you on the phone.

We have been with Markel for 10 years and never had to claim. Now I am trying to contact customer service and they are ignoring emails and not calling back as requested. All I am trying to do is renew but their online system wont let me and they are not replying to my messages. I was left on hold for 40 minutes and had to end the call. Looks like we will be changing insurance providers now as Markel clearly dont want our business. so much for loyalty!

I highly recommend Markel to anyone needing business insurance. I was dealing with a agent called Matthew who was very easy to talk to and was every efficient in responding to emails. Over the course of 3days while I shopped around I decided to call back Markel due how easy the whole process was.

Ease of getting a quote and then turning that quote into a purchase even though more than a week has gone by.

I was constantly being HOUNDED every hour, every day by a representative of Markel to purchase insurance. I asked them to stop, yet I still received numerous calls.

Please stop this.

Rapid response to phone enquiries, with pleasant and helpful answers. Lots of common sense rather than jargon.

Isaac at Markel is rude.
I told him about a very specific set of insurance I need. He advised that I needed 1 particular insurance. I looked into it further and if I had gone for that insurance, my business wouldn't be covered. I explained that to Isaac just now. He said his company are non-advisory (um, how so? When you literally advised me on what cover to get?). He then hung up. Watch out for these lot, they have no idea what they're on about!

Also to give UK a taste of the german Markel Insurance SE. I have never had such a bad service. I would never ever take a D&O over Markel in my live again.

Your sales rep, Colin, was responsive, polite and friendly. He answered all of my questions and wasn't at all pushy. Despite getting a cheaper quote elsewhere, I chose Markel because of him and the ease of doing business with the company.

Good value for money for a small club needing to insure some audio equipment. Easy to set up online.
