Okay Product, Terrible Customer Service

I purchased a subscription to the Vegas Pro editing software about a year ago. I used the product for video editing on a number of platforms. The product is decent, but is prone to crashes and lacks several features that require post-processing in other tools. The crashes are most prominent if you're working with large files. This can be extremely frustrating and result in lost work if you're not diligent about saving often.

My largest complaint is in regards to the customer service when I wanted to cancel my subscription. I was charged $158 for the subscription over the next 12 months. I emailed their customer service to cancel the subscription and receive a refund as I would not be needing this product over the next 12 months. I was informed that a refund is not possible because I did not submit the cancellation request a month in advance. A MONTH. I've used a lot of subscriptions services, and I've never had an experience or response like that. It seems like the company is more interested in locking you into a year-long contract that you don't need than providing a good product and customer support. Really disappointing. I do not recommend this product and will be sharing this experience with other creators in the space.

Basically, subscriptions, no matter where they are purchased, have the special feature that they are automatically extended. This means that a cancellation is necessary to end the subscription.

Our subscriptions are offered in different versions. You can choose between a monthly and annual license during the ordering process.For your selected annual licence, a contractual cancellation period of one month is provided.

You will be informed about the special terms of this subscription and the cancellation periods on the product page before the purchase, you will also receive all contract information with your purchase confirmation, and you will also find all details in our terms and conditions.

Also in your customer account, you will find the contract periods, additionally we inform every customer six weeks before the renewal by email.

We think we do everything we can to provide our customers with courtesy and help, and do everything we can to educate our users.

But it should also be clear that there are contractual arrangements for the conclusion of a subscription and that a company insists on them, as the customer has every opportunity to react to them at an early stage.

We are also sympathetic if the notice period can't be kept, but here it is important that it takes place before the extension, which was unfortunately not the case in this case.

Stay away from Samplitude Pro 7 suite by Magix…

Still having on going issues with Magix Samplitude pro x7 suite. Support dont respond ever. Their continued efforts to churn out the latest update to a cost insufficent that warrants an update or just another money grab effort for a job not well done. A class action against this company is urgently required. Stay away from this company until support begin to follow up on all requests with real fixes not a sentence advising to open up under admin. Whats really going on Magix?

I purchased magix pro x2 in 2003 i…

I purchased magix pro x2 in 2003 i think. My windows 7 computer died so i did not use it for a number of years. I just got another windows 7 computer but could not open the mpeg codecs since i forgot the email it was registered too. Magix helped me get pro x2 set up again with no hassles. Shortly after a job i will upgrade to pro X14 when ihave more time. Thanks

Immediately took care of a widespread…

Immediately took care of a widespread issue with both a proper solution and workarounds for those who might not be able to implement the proper solution (updated software). Good and prompt customer communication. I had emailed help, and they got right back to me, but the company also sent me the info on the fix at about the same time.

Just a little correction "for the record" re the kind Magix reply - it's Ms. Zorn. :)

Support form don't even work

Purchased Sounfdf Forge 15 Studio as a part of the latest Humble Bundle. The ad video and the manual of the software show that Ozone 9 Elements plugin is a part of the software. In fact, there's no plugin in that version and no information about it whatsoever. It simply blocks all mastering functions in SF, because they rely on this plugin.
Tried to reach Magix support via the website to find out if this is a mistake or intended misleading, but the webform on the site returned the error: "The support request could not be saved". So, the form is kinda there, but it does not work.

Absolutely crap product

Absolutely crap product. I wanted to use it to organize photos and remove duplication, and all it does is sort them by date. You can do a facial seek thing, but that is opposite of an efficiency gain.

Prompt response from the sales team. I purchased the wrong product and they offered me a refund! I will take that money and buy another product (that they offer) that fits my needs. Though it is a more expensive product, it will save me time in the long run. Good job!!!

i jus mixed a single called luv me 4eva on magic's soft ware along with another program and and it had the right plug in's and it led me step stumble and step lol right thru im prett darn proud of myself i thought it would be way more difficult do to lack of funding and being that the so call professionals use pro tools but i plan on trying to get much done as possible with the trail version of magic music maker so this really is a thank you guys letter for looking out for the less fortunite artist such as my self keep me updated on the affordable recording software yall bless the game with

Audio Cleaning Lab! The Greatest Audio Cleaning Software Around

My name is Le Roy and I've been using Audio Cleaning Lab since version two came about. I'll tell you from using this software, it does a excellent job for removing pops,clicks and noise from my old records. The albums sound like cd quality material. No Kidding. It's the best all around software and does a fantastic job. I recommend it to all for their music choice. Cheers.

Love the tool box that it is

Love the tool box that it is. Thank you MAGIX. It is a very sensitive, deep, and complicated program (Acid 10). Then you engineer or produce incredibly complicated music with this sophisticated program, and you’re going to have to have a lot of patience. These programs are for highly intelligent people with programming experience. I have used ProTools, Reason, Propeller Head, Logic, Ableton, and to be honest they all have very deep algorithms that aren’t easy to be an artist with. However, once one has spent many hours drilling into it Acid is a great DAW.

Paid software makes you recieve advertisement popups is unacceptable

Horrible! Be advised that if you pay for this software they will reward you with them having popups for advertisements of their other products on your desktop that you cant opt out of other than uninstalling their software. Horrible scummy company

Can't unsubscribe

Amazingly bad customer service. Once you've signed up, you can't unsubscribe. They have been deducting my money for 5 months now, even though I asked them to cancel my subscription.
Be careful with them. I don't recommend them.

Horrible program

Horrible program. Been working on a mix for over a week now and all of the sudden I can play one minute of audio before all music makes horrible glitch noises and cuts of completely.

It's a scam I paid way to much money for and won't be working with in the future.
