I think what made the experience helpful, fulfilling along with memorble was how straightforward and eloquent everything was especially my mentor. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared with me resources that were a perfect fit for my level. Moreover the Program managers were very cooperative and even though me being in a boarding school, they were very flexible. Furthermore, the workshops and writing centers made everything so simple and easy to understand which made the entire experience feel like it went the extra mile just for you.

I had a great mentor and Lumiere provided many resources like a writing coach to help me improve my writing and feel less overwhelmed writing my paper.

I really enjoyed working one-on-one with my mentor on a weekly basis. I also like how because this program is online, it is flexible and easy to integrate into my schedule. Moreover, I appreciated how there were multiple experts I could reach out to if I needed help (although I didn't really need much as the communication was very clear all throughout the process). The best aspects about my Lumiere experience was the freedom of researching whatever I want, as well as getting to know a field better (e.g. neuroscience) as I learned new concepts through my mentor.

Lumiere has made me meet an amazing person, my mentor and also I had the chance tro learn everything about research. It was an amazing experience that gained me amazing skills about my future research journey and also made me learn a lot of new things about the major I'm interested in.

What I loved most were the hands-on projects that pushed me out of my comfort zone and really honed my research skills. The online platform was slick and user-friendly, and I felt like I was part of a real community despite being behind a screen.

I can't recommend Lumiere Education enough if you're looking to learn, grow, and have a great time doing it. Thanks, Lumiere, for shining a bright light on my learning journey!

For me, the Lumiere Individual Research Program was an academically challenging and truly enjoyable experience. I specifically was really pleased with my mentor match and really appreciated that everyone I came in contact with through Lumiere seemed genuinely interested in helping me formulate a research paper that I was proud of. I appreciated having milestone deadlines throughout, as these ensured that the workload was evenly spread out through the 12 weeks. I also found the Scholar Guidebook and often referred to it for instructions and resources. I do think some of the resources could have been provided in a more organized manner. For example, I would have really appreciated being informed of the content in all three workshops right at the beginning as while the information in the workshops were helpful, I'd often receive them after I'd completed the section discussed in the workshop. I think there is a lot of support and information for the earlier sections, but could do more with the later ones (ie., how to write a conclusion and discussion). Overall, I really appreciated the way this program pushed me to my limits without ever feeling to stressful or constraining, allowing me to explore and research my field of choice freely, but still teaching me new skills in academic writing.

I had a great time writing this paper, the people were all helpful and very willing to teach me how to write a paper as this was the first one I had ever written.

Incredible experience working under my mentor, who guided me through all the ins and outs of LEAN programming. I was deeply enlightened around my subject area and was given the opportunity to work independently to produce a research paper in my area of interest. The program manager, writing coach and mentor were very helpful when it came to doubts and clarifications.

Lumiere Education is such an amazing opportunity for high school students interested in conducting in-depth research with professionals. Throughout this program, I have been able to learn tremendously from my mentor who is a PhD from the University of Leeds, improving my skills in various areas. The best part, in my opinion, is the fact that Lumiere offers up to full financial-aid, one of the very few programs to do so. I truly had an incredible experience and if you’re passionate about research or care deeply on a certain topic, you should definitely apply!

Participating in this research program was an incredibly valuable experience, not only because it was my first research experience, but also what made it truly great was the level of support and guidance provided by the mentors. They were not only knowledgeable but also genuinely interested in helping us grow as researchers. The structured approach to the program, with clearly defined goals and milestones, ensured that we stayed on track, which helped us enhance the quality of our paper.
Another thing that I liked is the collaborative environment. At the end of the program, our mentor made peer review meetings, which helped us a lot. It allowed us to look at each others paper from different perspectives and notice things that can be improved.
I really liked how Lumiere Research Program aspires to create environment that encourages curiosity and independent thinking. Thank to this approach, I made a research that is related to one of the main problems in my city. This really made my paper meaningful to me and helped me to make contribution to my community.
Overall, I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to explore research world and make meaningful research paper.

As a Korean high school student, it was my first time writing an actual scientific research paper. Since I had no background knowledge about writing a research paper, I was afraid that I would not do great. However, my mentor guided me through every step that I had to take. My mentor also gave me lots of knowledge about the area that I wanted to study. I wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone who is interested in writing a research paper!

I absolutely loved the Lumiere research program! The structure and speed of the program were perfect. Everyone who I worked with was so nice and went out of their way to help me. Overall, I learned so much and I would highly recommend this program if you would like to begin your journey of research!

Getting to meet a mentor that cared and wanted to help on a project of my choice was really engaging and allowed for a deeper understanding of my engineering paper.

It provided me lots of depth about the area of the subject I wanted to study in. I had the opportunity to dive into different branches of my subject and learn new information and facts that enhanced my learning and encouraged my enthusiasm in that specific area.

I joined the Lumiere Research Scholar program because I was interested in pursuing research in the field of Astrophysicis. What I got from the program was an amazing experience where I gained a lot of valuable skills that will help me in my future career. I am now prepared to write a scientific research paper, read and analyze pre existing papers, and make my writing more clear and concise. I have also learned how to structure my time to be able to meet deadlines in an efficient way. Overall, a very beneficial experience that has had positive impact on my life.

I am grateful for the opportunity Lumiere gave me to research gender/queer studies - highly tabooed fields in the Middle East. I already had a research question, but my mentor helped me delve into the field and adjust my question. With the guidance and multiple revisions of my mentor and writing coach (Lumiere's writing support was more than helpful), I finished my paper, but Lumiere's impact continued; Because of Lumiere's experience, I got accepted into another gender-studies 9-week research scholarship, accepting only 15 trainees, most of whom are graduates!

Lumiere Education has provided me with an incredible opportunity to write a full-length research paper under the mentorship of a PhD candidate from a U.S. university. The instructions were clear, the deadlines were reasonable, the mentors were nice and helpful, and the whole experience was wonderful.
