REVIEW IN 2019 (which I can no longer…

REVIEW IN 2019 (which I can no longer locate) with UPDATE below:

I acquired a Lotus Liva 1G stove in the fall of 2014. After only a few lightings, the glass in both the side and curved front door panels clouded and pitted. I addressed this problem with the seller immediately thereafter and then again with Johnny Ebstrup of Lotus Heating Systems A/S (named in stove’s manual) in June of 2015. A Daniel Pedersen responded “glass is not part of the warranty” and such problem results from “a high temperature.” (To which I responded: “Excuse me, but I've been using wood stoves for 40 years and have never heard of one having problems with high temperature.”)

With the assistance of the Center for European Consumers in Italy (ECC-Net Italia), Lotus was again contacted August of 2015. They failed to respond.

In September and earlier this month, I again wrote Mr. Ebstrup for yet another problem. This regarded the loosened of the iron flap between the upper (glass) and lower (tool) pivoting door. For several years I maintained a small wedge it to keep it perpendicular and prevent its blocking the lower door. I have removed examined the stove but find no access whatsoever for tightening this piece and remedying the problem. Again, no response.

Although a minor problem, I am compelled to caulk and attach the interior (Thermax vermiculite) refractory panels with each season’s use of the stove. This year I inquired about their replacement cost but again choose to recault and cement as these pieces are sold only in a complete set, including the side glass panels, at considerable cost.

I acquired this wood stove because I found it aesthetically pleasing and precisely what I was seeking in my contemporary décor. To my regret, it has numerous design flaws and the company’s client support leaves much to be desired.

UPDATE:

Design flaws left and right. Replacement costs astronomically priced. And I still have the bad taste left in me regarding their response (or lack thereof) to the above.

I wish I could read the Danish reviews but I can't seem to understand how. For the most part, I see they are highly unfavorable.
