Amazing last night of the show, all 3 actors were amazing, the theatre is perfect for this kind of show, very intimate, great staff, I was a bit disappointed that I missed a show the month before and they couldn’t transfer the extras I paid for but it was my fault for missing it. I cannot wait for Joe Locke to be back in the West End.

These were good, committed performances and the characters felt real. But the story lacks substance - two young men with issues who don’t really move on, and the love story as such felt minimal - only really kicking in at the end. Their story arcs were scant. For what was on offer it was expensive - the minimal setting would have worked better in a studio space, with studio prices. And, committed though their performances were, both Joe and Ruaridh lack stage technique - they shouldn’t have needed radio mics… And wouldn’t have in a smaller space. The long scenes with drab lighting also brought the performance down. It was in the West End because these are rising stars, but I feel that such a low key play would have been far less disappointing in an intimate space where we could have got to know the characters better.

A play for teenagers, lovely performances, nice writing, quite highly strung direction. Quite expensive for teenagers, though, and I really didn't understand putting the audience on stage.

i’ve been watching Clarkston since i was 14 — i’m 15 now. and i honestly can’t put into words how much this play has changed me. it’s not just a story on a stage; it’s something that reaches out, grabs your heart, and reminds you what it means to be human. the way it shows addiction, friendship, and mental health ,it’s real. it’s raw. it’s the kind of truth that makes you cry but also makes you feel seen. Clarkston gave me something I didn’t know I’d lost: hope. it reminded me that even when life feels heavy or confusing, there’s still light and connection out there. that people care, that stories matter. because of this play, i’ve found the courage to step back into theatre and acting again, something i’d almost given up on. it made me believe in myself again. the cast are beyond incredible. they don’t just act their roles, they become them. every word, every silence, every emotion feels alive. when i’m watching, it doesn’t feel like i’m just in the audience — it feels like i’m part of their world, standing right there with them. to the cast, the director, and everyone who brought Clarkston to life: thank you. thank you for creating something that makes people feel less alone. thank you for showing me that theatre can change lives. because without Clarkston, i don’t think i’d have found my way back to what i love. it’s not just a play to me !!! it’s something that’s healed me, inspired me, and reminded me how powerful stories can be.

It's astonishing how quickly Joe Locke ceased to be Charlie from Heartstoppers for me and became Jake. Further proof that he's a truly excellent actor, perfectly capable of portraying diverse characters. I also really enjoyed the interplay between him and Kai Davies as Chris. I was surprised by the somewhat thin plot of this drama. Yes, various themes and conflicts were touched upon, hinted at, but some things were resolved very quickly, lacking depth. Nevertheless, I felt a strong connection to these two young men for over 90 minutes, was invested in their fate – but I believe that was primarily due to the performances of Joe Locke and Kai Davies, rather than the script. I'm a little sad that I missed Ruaridh Mollica. I really enjoyed his performance in "Sebastian." I would have loved to see him on stage. (Juergen from Berlin / Germany)

The show was so emotionally charged, beautiful dialogues and displayed the complex nature of relationships between family members and new love just perfectly. Thank you, cried my eyes out from the beginning throughout the end😭 The acting of all three had me in a headlock and jaw dropping moments had me at edge of my seat. Will go again soon!!
