This site is second to non. It tells you everything you need to know about a state run school. Lots of info about independent schools too. Brilliant for schooling & housing decisions
Brilliant site, much helpful when you plan to relocate (rent/ buy) home. Gives you so much of data to make the right decision and prioritize things well. The integration with Zoopla brings almost all the features right along with school data. Apply the filters and you know what are your possible options. It was worth going for the premium membership for all these features. I am able to compare different neighbourhoods and even postcodes within specific areas. A well thought through and much needed product..

An incredibly helpful tool
An incredibly helpful tool when trying to choose schools, especially when moving to a new area. It includes all the data from Ofsted and local councils that is a pain to dig out yourself, all in one easy spot. A feature that would be great to add would be a postcode checker where you could see what schools you might be in catchment for.

If you search for a postcode you can right click on the map (or long press on mobile) to add a house pin in that location (or you can turn on Menu->Settings->"Add Pin To Map After Each Search"). You can then turn on the option Menu->Catchment Areas->
"Hide oversubscribed schools where pin is not in likely catchment area". This will only show schools that are either not oversubscribed on where the pin is in the estimates catchment area. We do advise using caution with this feature though as catchments can and do vary from one year to the next, so you could exclude legitimate choices with this option.

Great UK school Web site. Great functions such as "School Area" and "Catchment Area" for England, if the functions can work the same details in Wales, it definitely many benefits for all user.
Besides, the properties only show Zoopla, if available to provide Rightmove to select, it will become more fantastic.

The devolved nations (Scotland, Wales and NI) just don't publish the same level of information as England, which prevents us from being able to provide the wealth of features we have for English schools for other nations. If they do publish more we will be sure to work with it. As for RM, we have tried contacting them on many occasions over many years but can't get through and we're not allowed to just scrape their site as it breaks their t&Cs.

Information is kept up-to-date. I just found some new information today (school transfer) and it is such a nice experience. You know that Locrating is exploring ways to give parents a big hand on learning about state schools.

Great features!
We are currently using Locrating to find an area to buy a house next to a suitable school which meets the needs of our family! A great feature I love about Locrating is that it is combined with Zoopla making the house hunting process so easy with it all being on one map. I also like how Locrating reveals the exam results for Math, Reading and Writing across different years. Another great feature is the description of the school - I hope my son can attend a somewhat diverse school and Locrating writes that information too! I recommend using this service to find your child's ideal school and ideal home.

Easy to use, up to date and informative
Easy to use and gives in depth information on catchment area trends, exam results and even live links to houses currently for sale near schools. Also provides links to Ofsted reports, parent views on bullying and compares schools to the national average to see if they are below, average or above.

Real time saver!
I have been using Locrating free functions for many years and they are really helpful. I have recently upgraded to be a member since I would like to get more information on the catchment areas and admission criteria of schools. I have to say the membership fee is worth every penny since it saves me so much time. Instead of looking up several websites, now I can just go to Locrating and get all the info I need.
