Went for the Sunday Carvery today with a friend. Never been in before. I have to admit when you walk in. It appears a little sparse, which is what has put me off trying before. But the staff were all so welcoming and friendly. Very attentive. The carvery was absolutely delicious. We both cleared our plates. The food was all very fresh. Not a reheat setup. All fresh and very tasty. Generous portions. The table behind came in with their beautiful fur baby. She came and said hello which was so adorable and they had fish and chips and scampi off the menu and their dinners also looked lovely and they said it was also fresh and tasty. I will certainly be coming back again for this great food. Thank you for a great birthday meal.

My friend and I, plus 2 dogs, went to Lock & Barrel in Frinton on Wednesday as they had a Carvery, my favourite meal! My friend had a Chicken Caesar Salad which she said was lovely, and I had the small beef carvery. The ‘small’ meal choice was plenty for me, all cooked to perfection. We both then had an Eton Mess dessert which was also scrumptious. After reading some bad reviews we were hesitant about trying this pub, but we were pleasantly surprised…great food, friendly fast service, and dog friendly, couldn’t have been better…will definitely be back!

Three of us went for fish and chips. Can honestly say it was worst I've ever had. Child size portions of frozen fish typical of budget supermarket quality.Very expensive too.Shame on them for offering such poor value for money.

The first and still the best pub in Frinton-on-Sea!
