The worst experience I've ever had renting a car from Localiza, 7 days in Goiânia using a car that was not the one we chose, they gave us a different car than the one we chose. We had 14 fines totaling R$5,000.00 for traffic violations, almost all of which were duplicated. I contacted the Localiza rental company responsible for giving us copies of the Detran (Vehicle Department of the State of Goiás) and they denied us and made it difficult to seek cancellation of at least part of the fines. We went directly to the Detran (Vehicle Department of the State of Goiás) and there is nothing to prove the fines and there are no photos of the location of the fines. We understand that by withholding copies from us and charging us only with a copy from the company itself, they are taking away our rights as customers and citizens.

I have a lot too say about this experience and I will try to be short, but if I could give them a 0.5 I would.
The day I picked up the car it took like 1.5 hours just to get it, not even counting the time it takes to go from El Dorado to the pick-up point. The lady was doing a lot of typing in the computer but there is not speed in their process of it. I decided to extend my contract, and got told that I just needed to send an email the morning of the original drop-off time and just return the car whenever I wanted and pay the extra days. I sent the email but I got no response, hence, I went to the drop-off airport in the other city to see if the extension was okay. However, I got told that I needed to call the third party that made my reservation, they told me they can't do it because they do not own the vehicle. I decided to keep the car and do what Localiza asked me to do. One day before of my tentative drop-off day I received an email saying that if I don't pay, then they would start the process to recover the car. (Clearly, I didn't want to have problems with law enforcement). I had to change my plans and take the car and try to resolve the issue. When I went it took another 2 hours to resolve it, they did the extension and the car was going to have a restriction of PICO Y PLACA and they could not change the car, (the lot was full of cars). Still they were okay charging me even if I could not use the car, so I had to pay the fee to remove the restriction. Incur in the expense to avoid the pico y placa, and they took the documents of the car (registration and SOAT) they did not return the documents to me and made me drove the car without them. Got lucky I never got pulled over, otherwise the chaos would have been worst. The day I went to return the car, only one person was in charge of returns. The funny thing is that two employees were in the same department just chatting and being on their phones instead of helping us and the rest of clients trying to make it quick.
Honestly never doing this again with that company, just help yourself and do not rent from this company. Unless you want to expend hours to get a service done.

Very good service, very friendly and helpful staff and very fair handling, car (small SUV) very well fitting to road and in very good condition (although not brand new) - clear recommendation and definitely would choose Localiza again in Colombia - and a special thanks to the lovely & supportive people at the rental station - thanks a lot!

Take pictures of all sides of your car. Upon return, an employee pointed to a minute crack in the rear windshield which was barely visible with the naked eye. He said he'd take care of it for 150 reais (=$30). We refused. The company charged us $500 for a windshield that would have cost $3 to repair (it didn't need to be replaced, and the company acknowledged ultimately acknowledged that it didn't replace it). We assume that the employee created the crack- cracks are almost always created on the front windshield by hitting small stones/debris during highway driving. Unless you're driving in reverse at high speed, cracks in the back don't happen. The only way to combat Localiza fraud is to take pictures of all sides of your car. The branch that we dealt with was in the Barra Peninsula. We're still happy that we didn't pay the employee his bribe.

Do not rent from this company. I made a reservation and it was cancelled immediately when I went to get the car. They rejected my profile for no reason and also barred me from renting or driving their vehicles for 180days. They provided no reason for this, and when we called the head office they couldn’t see any issues with the profile but couldn’t reverse the situation or provide a solution as it is automated. I was left stranded with a family and baby and no way to travel to our next destination.

We arrived but the office was closed. Called the office and told us to take the cab to the office outside of the airport. The price was $15 + 2000 pesos. What a pain!!!!

First I want to say that you have to pray that nothing will happen to you. In my case I was hit by a car that changed lane and caused my car a small dent that could be fixed with a simple dent puller in 10 minutes and they charge me for 420us$

Booked a car in Porto Seguro. I booked an in terminal pick up since I was traveling with my family. However, on arrival the in terminal crew only showed us the way to the shuttle. I could have booked a car with shuttle transport for 20-30% less so this was the first time they cheated me. The second time was on returning the car. The lady which couldn't speak a word in English asked me to pay for cleaning. I tried to explain to her that the car was already dirty when I got it and I had pictures to proof it. She insisted before letting me go to the shuttle (I guess that's why they don't to in terminal service). The cleaning fee was a good USD 25 for which I can have a car cleaned in New York City. So this is extremely steep.

On February 12th, I was forced to return the rented vehicle and terminate the contract in Bauru-SP-Brasil, as the rented vehicle was unexpectedly blocked during my trip. The vehicle was supposed to be returned on February 13th, around 9:00 PM, at the Localiza agency at Guarulhos Airport, as planned for my return flight to England.
Returning the vehicle before the end of the contract due to its blockage caused me a lot of stress and inconvenience, resulting in additional costs and difficulties in getting around Bauru, where I was visiting my mother who was hospitalized.
Despite my numerous phone calls to Localiza, nothing was done and the following points remain unclear:
a) What is the reason for blocking the rented vehicle before the end of the contract?
b) Why was my account with Localiza blocked, despite being a loyal customer who has always made timely payments without any incidents?
c) Why were my future reservations with Localiza also blocked? In the next month, I have a reservation to pick up a vehicle at São José do Rio Preto Airport, where I will be arriving with my family.
I consider the treatment I received as a loyal customer completely unacceptable. Not even an apology for the incident, especially the lack of a plausible explanation for the blockage, which appears to be the result of an internal error. This incident has caused me significant inconvenience. As a result, I feel compelled to express this appeal and will continue to do so until a satisfactory explanation is provided.
