Poor Customer Service

They, by far, have the worst customer support of any company I have ever dealt with. I have the LiveScribe Echo 2 pen. The pen works just fine, but like many others, the cap is poorly designed. $119.00 pen with a $0.02 cap. My cap never fit well and then discovered that it was cracked. They told me they were working on replacement caps. On 06/21/2023 I was told that I was placed on the waitlist for a replacement cap. I followed up again on 01/08/2024 and their response was that they had replied to my request. Going on 8 months and still waiting. Poor, Poor service.

Very poor customer service…

This is the worst customer experience I’ve had in a while. I ordered the product nearly a months ago when they advertised 5-7 days and then finally shipped my order and it’s just a bunch of notebooks, not the pen I purchased. Mistakes happen but they’re impossible to communicate with and clearly have issues. Now I paid $140 for four tiny notebooks and some sticky pads.

I have two serious issues with…

I have two serious issues with Livescribe. Customer Service is Poor, to say the least. There is no phone number to call, and they never respond to emails. And when they do, they give some off the wall excuse that maybe it is in your spam folder. My second issue is with their inventory. They do not have the notebooks you have to have to use their pen. Their paper is like ink is to a printer. No paper, your pen is worthless. The paper is nowhere on the internet, so anyone with a Livescribe pen and is out of paper owns a useless ball point pen. They say that you can download and print your paper, NOT. I have a Windows 11 desktop and a HP LaserJet Pro printer, and the paper I print does not work. Livescribe is a wholly owned subsidiary of Anoto, (Anoto.com.). If I had know all this, I never would have purchased a LiveScribe pen. Now i am trying to decide to I try and find another SmartPen or what.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. They don't advice that custom duties will be payable in the first place as they advertise themselves as a UK based supplier. Trying to return the item as it doesn't work as intended and they reject the return at customs in their country. And now they are saying they can't pay custom duties - they shouldn't be paying custom duties on returns but they will have to claim them back like their clients have to do when they return items to them. Awful logistical nightmare...and they call themselves customer happiness team!! avoid

Misleading and disingenuous marketing

I have never regretted purchasing a product as much as i regret buying the echo smartpen. The livescribe marketing is completely misleading and disingenuous. I bought this pen for the sole purpose of being able to convert my handwritten notes into digital form only to discover that the Myscript for livescribe app has been discontinued without any replacement. So i now have a pen, paper and refills and a headset that cost me over £200 none of which i can use because they dont serve the purpose for which they were purchased. To add insult to injury there is no contact number to call and speak to someone. What a waste of money and time. This is clearly a money making scheme.

DO NOT BUY LIVESCRIBE PENS

The display on my Echo Smart pen has died.
I bought the expensive Echo 8GB pen in 2014 and it has had very little use. Everything was working when I purchased it but now the display has gone dark rendering the pen useless.
I have looked online regarding this issue and apparently it is a very well known problem which the company hasn't provided a remedy for.
The issue is even detailed in Wikipedia.
I contacted the company and they advised that pens that are out of warranty will not be replaced. Quote from the Customer Happiness team : "We regret to inform you that a replacement is no longer possible for your Smartpen", what rubbish they could provide a replacement if they wanted too.
Surely it is a criminal offence to sell products that are know to be faulty!
I would advise anyone considering a purchase of this pen NOT TO DO SO!
