Not a current leaf guard client
Not a current leaf guard client, but writing this review for their door-to-door service.
Had a gentleman come to my door tonight and was VERY pushy in trying to get me to sign up for a home review. WOULD NOT take no for an answer. He got so pushy I was almost sharing personal schedule information that I SHOULD NOT have to divulge. I didn’t want to lie to him about our schedules but good lord was I about to get rude and straight up lie to him just to get him to take a hint and listen to my NO. I will not install leaf guard on any home (current or future) simply for this interaction. They should be ashamed for how pushy they are and getting into peoples’ personal business just to get someone to sing up for something.
I'm not a leafguard customer
I'm not a leafguard customer, however, I have been in the basement/foundation waterproofing and drainage business for 40 years. Now retired thank the lord. I've seen many systems of leafguard installed over my career and have seen numerous problems with the system. A number of case's where the system actually caused basement leaks( that were not an issue prior to installing the system, as well as drainage issues). Once leafgaurd was removed the problems went away. Also, the system does not fully keep leaves and debis out. When it's dry and windy, yes, of course the leaves blow right off, but when soaking wet it's a different story. Plus the high cost I've heard homeowners tell me. Don't be fooled by leafguard!!!
Disappointed in our treatment.
The tactics they used to get us to purchase turned out to be false information. Also, they promised 200 dollars in gift cards which they refuse to send us now after we purchased the product.
One of the biggest mistakes I've ever made
One of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. Shame on me for not doing my homework before I purchased. Spent close to $13,000 on what was supposed to a good investment. Far from that. I have a flat roof home with almost no pitch. The salesman told me i needed 3 more downspouts to get proper drainage. I had never had a problem with my other gutters or ever felt that I needed more downspouts. He basically told me I needed more downspouts for this system to work properly. Thinking he was the professional I took his word for it. I must of had idiot written on my back and forehead. My complaint is since I live in California rain is hit and miss and as my flat roof sits most of the time dry as a bone, dust collects on the roof and when it does rain the dust is carried by the rain water to my Leaf Filter system and the rain water runs across the filter mess and over the top of my gutter and on the ground. I called Leaf Filter and was told that my year warranty was up and this is a maintenance issue. What happen to the lifetime warranty that Leaf Filter claims to have. In my opinion the mesh is far too dense and does not allow the dust to pass through with the rain water. If anyone who reads my review is considering purchasing the Leaf Filter system don't do like I did. You can find numerous reviews of dissatisfied customers for different reasons and there are several lawsuits pending. I hate to bad mouth any product but Leaf Filter deserves this one. They don't stand behind their product, not interested in resolving my issue. Pretty close to false advertising I my opinion.
The gutter system didn't work at all!
The gutters clogged up in 1st months. It was advertised that if they clogged, free lifetime cleaning them out. When I called to get them cleaned, they said it would be $100 to send someone out!!? When he got there he told me it was my fault they clogged because I had too many trees surrounding my house. 9 grand down the proverbial drain. DO NOT WASTE $$ ON THIS!
VERY DISRESPECTFUL
We have 2 "No Soliciting" signs on our front door and this company sends guys to our house who knock on that very same door to solicit sales. VERY DISRESPECTFUL.
Leafguard Burr Ridge Il
I had an exceptional experience with Leafguard. From start to finish they were professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Celestine the salesperson was upfront, honest and I never felt pressured. He explained the gutter and the lifetime guarantee for not only the gutters but all the work done. Steph and the installation crew were quick and cleaned up after themselves. They found a problem on my house corrected it with no charge. The project manager Jacob gave me a follow-up call. Just love how my house looks and will never have to clean a gutter again. Thanks Leafguard! Letitia Williams
Promised a gift card for them to come…
Promised a gift card for them to come out and give quote… they came out and I decided not to get the guards… 3 months later still no gift card… false advertisement, poor service and poor business management… I would never recommend them to anyone…
Don’t do business with “Shay”!
I won’t speak for all of LeafGuard. Just for Omaha and Nebraska. It is most likely the person that runs this area is just shady. His name is Shay. I had my gutters installed and the subsequently damaged by another contractor. When I had them come out to get a repair/replacement estimate for insurance, the same person that sold them to me came out. He evaluated, took pictures, and wrote a quote. While he was here I as him to look over the whole house, he noticed screws in places there should not be screws. I told him as long as they worked I didn’t really care. He told me if I ever had problems, those screws would be a problem. He said his boss, “Shay” was crooked as a three dollar bill! He took pics and said he’d handle everything. Boy was HE RIGHT! I would not trust Shay, as far as as I can throw him! And I’m a 60+ year old woman! So not very far! It took the better part of 3 months to get this mess taken care of! Shay is not only crooked, he is a next level excuse maker, procrastinator, liar, and all around bad person! Before you buy in Nebraska, find out if “Shay” is running the show! If so, RUN! The gutters are good, I assume, but the first install crew was OBVIOUSLY hand picked by Mr. Excusemaker, Shay, and he hoped I wouldn’t notice. Thankfully my salesman was an honest person that took care of me and hopefully “Shay”. At least if there is a problem, and they pretty much warranty everything, “Shay won’t have the opportunity not warranty my beautiful new gutters! Nice try Shay!!!!!
Ice Dams on Leaf Guard Gutters(Poor Treatment by Office Staff)
I had brand new LeafGuard gutters installed this past summer. Initially there were some problems with water rolling past the cover and going behind the gutter. The installers fixed those problems. Now that it is winter, I have ice dams which are reaching the shingles on my roof and creating huge icicles across the entirety of the gutters. I called to get someone to come look at them and was treated very badly on the phone. As I tried to explain that my roof could possibly be damaged by backed up ice, I was mansplained to about how icicles form and asked to stop talking so that the man on the phone could continue explaining. I asked to speak to the manager whom I had called. He came to the phone and was a little more polite but I sensed that I was not being taken seriously. They continued to explain how the ice buildup was somehow unavoidable because of my house. I asked if he had seen the pictures I had sent. He said that he had but I am not sure he looked at them. I was asked to not believe the evidence of my own eyes and just accept their explanation. I don’t know if they would have patronized a man this way. I still need an appointment, but I was told not to call back until all of the ice was melted even though I explained that we were having 3 warm days in a row and the ice would be melted before the end of the week.
Leaf Guard marketing
Leaf Guard has hired a spam marketing company sending emails from multiple domains trying to trick consumers into purchasing their product.
This is shameful and Leaf Guard should NEVER be trusted.
High pressure Sales.
So I had to work, and my wife met the Sslesmen from Leafguard at our house. He quoted her $9,000.00 dollars ( He was very high pressure) to replace the gutter on the front of house. Not even the complete house. Mind you the house is a Ranch. I thought she was mistaken, but no when I got home it was true. And she signed the Contract. So I gave them a call and after a few minutes of arguing and threatening them to contact the Attorney General. The refunded our deposit.
××× JUST A HEADS UP DON'T TRUST THEM OR THEIR SALESMEN *** THIEFS. JM.
LeafGuard of Columbus Ohio
While working with LeafGuard of Columbus, Melodee, a company representative, performed an on-site assessment of my property, took photographs of key areas, and provided a detailed cost estimate. After negotiating, we reached an agreement on the project price, signed a contract, and finalized an installation date.
The installation crew arrived as scheduled and began an on-site evaluation. During this assessment, they determined that modifications to the fascia were necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the gutter system. They mentioned I would later receive information about extra charges for this unexpected work. This caused concerns and frustration. because the need for fascia modification had not been identified during the initial assessment, which made me question the thoroughness and transparency of the earlier evaluation.
Later, I received a revised work order showing a 32 percent increase in project costs compared to the original agreed amount. I then initiated negotiations with the company to address the significant cost increase and find a more equitable solution. Despite discussions about the scope of the additional fascia work and its associated costs, we were unable to reach an agreement that satisfied both parties. As a result, the installation was ultimately canceled.
Looking back, it’s clear that the initial site inspection did not identify the necessary fascia modifications, and any additional charges only became apparent after the contract was signed. This highlights the importance of thorough assessments and prompt communication in maintaining client trust and satisfaction. Ethically and professionally, LeafGuard should prioritize honesty, fairness, and transparency by clearly informing clients of all relevant project details, including potential problems and costs, from the beginning. Such practices boost consumer confidence and help build long-term relationships based on mutual understanding and accountability.
Overpriced and poor service
Overpriced and poor service. Salesman never returned after install to address my complaints after saying he would come.
Also you have 3 business days to cancel an in home contract not 3 days as I was told by salesman Ryan.
It's been over a month and 3 service calls to repair a leaking corner of my recently installed gutter system.
Be aware of installers trying to have you sign off on an incomplete job.
Unproffesional sales tacticts
Salesman became irate and abusive when I balked at signing a contract that I knew was overpriced. He ridiculed me for wanting to consult with my children, asking if I needed them to hold my hand on every
purchase. He finally wore me down and I signed just to get him out of the house.
Got the gutters last year they've been…
Got the gutters last year they've been pretty good. Someone ran over one of the downspout drains and they came and took care of it with in 2 days come me calling them.
Very poor insulation, destroyed d new drip edge, gutter higher then roofline hundred or more screws holding drip edge in place so it's bent and twisted holding shingles above roof ,estimate guy says
Very poor insulation destroyed drip edge 100 plus screws holding it down bent twisted holding shingles above roof
Leaf Guard is overpriced
I had Leaf Guard installed on my house in December 2023. I only put the date as 2024 because that was the furthest I could go back.
The product is decent yes. However for how much you will spend. I do not think it's worth it. I still had issues with birds getting into the gutters and making nests. Leaf guard is better than your standard gutters but not worth spending 5 or 6k more.
LeafGuard after 3 Years
I've had LeafGuard for 3 years, it does keep most things out of your gutter, since they've been installed, I haven't had a clog. They are not maintanace free. If you have small leaves they pile up on top of the guard under the shingles. Which must be cleaned out to keep the roof from rotting. Icicles are another issue. You're going to get gigantic Icicles and an ice dam. You must clean snow off your roof with a roof rake. Sales is extremely pushy, cost is very high, and installation if fair.
LEAFGUARD INSTALLED OUR GUTTERS ABOUT 5…
LEAFGUARD INSTALLED OUR GUTTERS ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO. NO LEAVES EVER GOT IN GUTTERS. HOWEVER. DIRT DID AND FINALLY HAD TO CALL A GUTTER COMPANY TO CLEAN THEM. INFACT HAD 4 SMALL TREES GROWING OUT TH GUTTERS THEY INSTALLED. CALLED MANY TIMES WOULD NOT RETURN MY CALLS. THERE WAS ABOUT 2 INCHES OF DIRT IN GUTTERS. HAD TO HAVE LO GER SCREWS PUT IN TO KEEP GUTTERS FROM COMING OFF ROOF. A VERY BAD JOB LEAFGUARD DID. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
