Corporate Scam - Warning DO NOT BUY any furniture from La-Z-Boy.

Bought 2 recliner totaling $3742. Both chairs same model, one decked-out with leather costing $2,142. 1st day the chair makes extremely loud noises when rocking, so loud my family asked that I no longer rock in it. Also, the Leather chair ($$$) my feet are 4" from the floor when I sit in it. When I sit in the other chair identical model, they are flat on the ground. Same goes for the leather chair in the store my feet were flat on the ground.

I called the store, and they said that it is not their problem that they are "Just a Gallery" and the chair warranty "should" take care of it. Now the rest of the story...

They pushed my call to some 3rd party customer care which could not tell me when they will be out.

The last time I purchased, nearly $4K for 2 chairs from La-Z-boy and had issues the warranty folks came out a few weeks later and said they had to order Parts. 2 years later still waiting on the parts and I have to pay for as they are not covered by the "Life-time Warranty" I paid for.

Will keep updating this story.

Do not buy a chair from this Corporate SCAM... Poor Quality and Service.

Disappointing durability for a premium-priced product

We purchased several La-Z-Boy leather recliners and a matching sofa in 2018, expecting long-term durability based on the brand’s reputation and price point.

In 2024, the side panels on every piece began to deteriorate and peel badly. The damage occurred in low-wear areas and appears to be material failure rather than normal wear and tear. Because we were travelling extensively at the time, we did not immediately file a warranty claim.

When we contacted La-Z-Boy in early 2025, we were told the furniture was just a couple of months out of warranty and that nothing could be done—no repair options, no goodwill accommodation, no support.

As a result, we are now replacing all of this furniture and taking it to the dump, which is extremely disappointing given its age and cost.

What makes this especially frustrating is that we have very similar leather recliner furniture in our basement, purchased over 25 years ago from a different manufacturer. That furniture has endured kids, friends, and decades of daily use—and is still in excellent condition today.

For a brand positioned as premium, we expected far better longevity and customer support. Unfortunately, our experience suggests that La-Z-Boy’s materials and durability no longer match their reputation, and we would not purchase from them again.

Do yourself a favor and never shop here

We purchased what was described as a high-quality, comfortable loveseat, but what we received is nothing close to what was shown or demonstrated in the store. The in-store model was plush, supportive, and felt well-constructed; the one delivered to us is extremely firm, uncomfortable, and feels as though you are sitting directly on the wooden frame.

It appears the showroom models are intentionally designed to give a misleading impression of comfort and quality. The product delivered is inferior, uncomfortable, and completely misrepresented. To make matters worse, the company relies on fine print to prevent any returns or meaningful resolution.

Their only proposed “fix” was to send someone to add more filling, which their own representative admitted would be temporary and would not hold up long term. This is not a reasonable solution for a product sold as a premium piece of furniture.

Since raising further concerns, the company has now stopped responding to me entirely. They have made it clear that I have no options and that I am essentially stuck with the defective, misrepresented item. Their refusal to communicate or offer any fair resolution is unprofessional and unacceptable.

This has been an extremely disappointing and costly mistake, and I strongly caution others to avoid purchasing from this company.

Lazy Boy quality has gone downhill.

We made a large purchase of evidently a faux leather sofa, loveseat, and two recliners in March 2025. They were delivered in July of 2025. We were greatly disappointed to see how lazy boy quality has dropped. This furniture was not constructed like ours we purchased in 1997. Our former furniture was heavier with wood construction. These new ones are light furniture, evidently with particle board. And reclining mechanism is loud and noisy unlike ours we bought in 1997 that were quiet and smooth in operation. If we had only known about lazy boy’s cheaper quality we would have purchased another brand. We wasted a lot of money.

Fake Leather

LazyBoy Power Leather Recliners not worth it.
After 7 years they need to be replaced.
Motor broke after 4 yrs
Much of the chair is faux-leather that peals off its backing after 7 yrs use (they don't tell you this.. they tell you you are buying a "leather chair")

new electric recliners

I bought one of new electric recliners, over $2,000, and am not happy with it. I called the company and they could care less. I have bought several of the manual recliners in the past and also at least one for family but will not buy any more. I bought the electric one because I injured my shoulder and did not think I could work the handle, but it is not comfortable.
So, I will not be buying any more. It is very disappointing as I thought the company had a good reputation.

BUYERS BEWARE!!

Terrible product and customer service. Bought two recliners, waited almost 3 months for them, only to have the fabric start to completely falling apart at exactly one year. I called Brian, the sales rep, multiple times and was told he would ‘take care of it’, it’s now been 3 months later and the issue has not been resolved.
I paid over $2000 for both plus an astronomical delivery fee.
Had I read the horrible reviews first I would have never wasted my time or money.
They are very eager to sell you products, but if you have an issue, they seem to disappear.
The recliners are overpriced pure junk!!!!!

Contacted LA-Z-BOY regarding…

Contacted LA-Z-BOY regarding replacement parts for my sectional sofa only to be told they no longer carry that part. The same exact part is on Amazon.com, but they refused to pay some of the cost $100 to replace the parts. They don’t stand behind their LIFETIME GUARANTEE. They decide what is the lifetime of your item. They are a miserable company and the quality has declined, so has the service! Buy from a better company. One that stands behind their products or buy cheap and disposable. LA-Z-BOY furniture is overpriced and overrated!

Purchased a Trouper rocker recliner in…

Purchased a Trouper rocker recliner in August 2025. First time reclining and then releasing the recliner there is a loud bang from the springs being released. I just thought that maybe I didn’t know how to move the lever. Called service in early October and explained the “bang”. Got a video call and the “ tech”, explained it was normal, might minimize with use, blamed it being on partial hard wood floor. Well after that, with several guests to my house remarking how loud the bang was, I called service again and said that I wanted a service person to physically see the chair, hear the sound. Finally on November 6 a tech came out, first thing he said when I demonstrated the chair noise, “that’s the La-z-boy bang”. He took pictures of the workings of the chair, sprayed some type of lubricant, and stated that over time the spring would relax some and sound should become minimal. He even took a video with sound to send off to La-z-boy to let them determine if this requires a replacement or whatever. He stated I should hear from them within 5 days. Of course this “bang” is very prominent and guests continue to remark about how loud it is. I explain what I’ve been going thru and encourage them if they are in the market for a rocker recliner to look elsewhere, unless of course they like paying top dollar for a chair that is so loud it can be heard upstairs in a colonial. Still waiting for corporate decision, but I’m not very optimistic on anything in my favor. As a side note I have a La-z-boy rocking recliner in my basement that is at least 35 years old, and it does not, nor has it ever produced such a loud bang.

Lazy boy total Ripoff

Wasted my money on a Lazy boy in 2023/FEB/19 purchased 2 top of the line leather recliners total bill over $7,700.00 including a $519.98 for a 7 year warranty in less than 3 years the foam construction on the back of the chair gone totally flat, like a hole I have to put a pillow behind my back for support to sit in it, drove back to the store Sep/2025 the manager told me I have bought a warranty and i should contact Zucora.com fill out a form on line which i did only to get an email back rejecting my claim as it is not accidental, apparently my $519.98 warranty only covers accidental spills/stains or accidental cut/tare.
in short it is a joke Lazy boy send us to Zucora.com they refuse to cover manufacturing defects

Shop elsewhere!

I've been bying Lazyboy furniture for 50+ years. Maybe no more!
Spent $5000 on an Ava all electric loveseat. When it arrived we noticed the furniture wasn't not the same as the floor model at the store. The padding was much less making it painful to sit in for both myself and my wife. We stopped by the store and called trying to get the Manager Laura Nave at the Kennesaw Georgia store to contact us and resolve the matter. So far no response. DEFECTIVE Recliner

Recliner delivered Sept. 18, 2025. Next day I contacted store to advise that the recliner handle - level with the floor - was very difficult to reach and operate. They said they would send a repair person. October 7, 2025 repair person, Bryan, tried to reset the recline handle. He said it could not be fixed - manufacture problem. I contacted the store and was told I would receive an email. No email was received so I emailed and called the store but they have ignored my requests for resolution. It is a nice chair and the sales people at the store were very nice until the repair man said the problem could not be fixed; now they just ignore my requests. I am making payments because Synchrony kindly financed the purchase and the problem is in no way their fault.

Recliner Broken/10 months old - No Repair or Exchange

UPDATE: I guess mailing all the big wigs works. They finally agreed to a refund, but it took a long time to get it.

The review is specifically related to a power rocker recliner with lumbar support bought at the Midlothian VA store on Nov 9, 2024. The chair broke on Sep 18th. After numerous calls and a visit to the store, no service has been provided. I bought the chair for 3 separate health reasons, cervical fusion, lumbar discectomy and Total Knee Replacement. This chair only last 10 months. No one at La-z-Boy has repaired the chair, no have they provided an exchange. Their customer service after sales is pathetic, as there is none. My chair broke on Sep 18 2025 and I informed that day. The soonest they can repair the chair by a contracted company is October 29th. This is totally unacceptable! Over a month to repair a chair I need for health reasons. DON’T shop at La-z-Boy. Their products are junk and they have an inadequate process for repair and will not offer an exchange for a chair still within the 1 year warranty.

False advertising and terrible return policy

The recliner we bought was advertised as designed for tall people. My husband is 5'11" and it is too short. It is also uncomfortable. I called to get it replaced. After 3 days, you can't return it. To return it would cost $99 restocking fee, plus 1/3 of the purchase price, at least.

A Disheartening and Dangerous Experience with La-Z-Boy - Buyer Beware!

A Disheartening and Dangerous Experience with La-Z-Boy - Buyer Beware!
I am writing this review from a place of extreme physical pain and profound emotional disappointment. I wish I didn't have to, but I feel a moral obligation to warn others about a product that has not only failed me but has actively put my health at risk.
My family and I visited the La-Z-Boy Home Furnishings & Décor in Mechanicsburg, PA, with a very specific and critical need. My mother had recently undergone knee surgery, and I was about to have my own lower back surgery (L4-5) on September 11, 2025. We were looking for the safest, most supportive recliner on the market a chair where I could spend my recovery, as my doctors advised me to stay off my bed.
The staff at the store, who were kind and helpful, recommended a specific recliner as "the best" option for our needs. We were told it was the perfect chair for someone with mobility issues and a recovering back. We paid $2,649.98 (original list price over $3,100) on August 3, 2025, for what we believed was a premium, safe, and reliable piece of medical-grade furniture. The sales ticket number is 316-45518, and the store address is 6390 Cartisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
The delivery and installation went smoothly, with the team ensuring everything was set up carefully. But the problem isn't the staff or the service; it's the product itself.
Just days after my back surgery, while using the recliner as intended, I tripped and fell backwards twice. The chair failed to support me and became a hazard. The immediate consequence of these falls was devastating: my post-surgery pain, which was already significant, spiked to a 10/10. I had to contact my doctor immediately, who increased my medication and scheduled an urgent follow-up appointment.
This is more than a quality control issue; this is a safety hazard. This chair is absolutely NOT suitable for anyone with a back, knee, or any kind of mobility issue. It is a dangerous piece of furniture that should not be marketed to or recommended for individuals in recovery.
My biggest fear is that this dangerous chair will be returned, refurbished, and sold to another unsuspecting person who needs it for medical reasons. This is why I won't return it; I wouldn't wish this pain and betrayal on anyone else. This chair is a liability and should be removed from the market entirely, or better yet, sent to a landfill so it can't harm anyone else.
La-Z-Boy is a massive company with a reputation built on comfort and quality. They need to address the safety standards of their products immediately. My physical and emotional well-being has been severely compromised, and I deeply regret my decision to put my trust in this company. I am now looking at alternative options like the Titan Otamic 3D LE Zero Gravity Luxury Massage Chair from Sam's Club, because I no longer trust La-Z-Boy to stand by their products or their customers' safety.
I am in agonizing pain as I write this, hoping that my review can save someone else from the same heartbreaking experience. If you are considering a La-Z-Boy recliner for any medical condition, please, look elsewhere. This chair is not the solution it's part of the problem.

I purchased a $1699 La Z Boy chair

I purchased a $1699 La Z Boy chair . The dye on the leather has worn out extensively on arms and head area. There is now a broken spring sticking out of the back of the chair. WTF..These now "made in China" POS chairs are not what they used to be. It looks like a 15 yr old chair. This thing is going to the dump and for this amount of $$ I will be buying a Cdn built chair.
